Yes, hard to tell much when no-ones seen him play in anger yet. Steelers are comfortably the stingiest D in the league without him, let alone with him, if he turns out to be anything like that. Well there was plenty saying he would be the leagues best in the summer so that 'he hasn't played much' doesn't wash There were indeed, some right numpties around. Lol Fancy making a daft statement like that about a player when he’s just signed without even seeing him play. 🤣🤣🤔

Well there was plenty saying he would be the leagues best in the summer so that 'he hasn't played much' doesn't wash Sorry, you’ve lost me. The fact he hasn’t played much/at all means the widely held and postulated hypothesis is yet to be empirically and objectively tested. Conclusions thus cannot be yet drawn. This

Well there was plenty saying he would be the leagues best in the summer so that 'he hasn't played much' doesn't wash 🙄 He was injured preseason and hasn't played yet at all. Kind of hard to argue people are wrong (or right for that matter!) when he's not even taken the ice yet competitively 🤣 The day he was signed/announced! How difficult is that to comprehend?

Looks a good one in the Skydome, 3 each with 10 to play.

5 away wins tonight. Storm winning at Belfast a surprise. Panthers back to 6th but 8pts off 5th 2 points tonight is a tiny step in the right direction but depending on results tomorrow we could find ourselves only 1 point ahead of 9th and should a minor miracle happen, even 1 point off bottom spot. At the same time we could be as much as 21 points off top spot. Even with a very good run it's going to be difficult to break that top 5 now.

Manchester win 7-1 one night, but still on course for negative goal difference for the weekend. 8-0 down.

Storm now 9-0 down with 10 3 minutes left.
EDIT: Tweet I saw had the wrong game time on it for the 9th goal.

Not much goalies union sympathy from the coach there. they could have put Downie in for the final period surely. Unless Brodeur said he wanted the practice.

Face off stats from the Fife Guildford game last night. Fife win 40 of the 49 taken. New Flames signing Fredericks wins exactly none of his 15 face offs, while Johannsson of Fife wins 17 of 18.

Also just noticed that the almost-universally-dismissed-as-a-defensive-liability Ben O'Connor is currently joint 12th in the entire EIHL at +15.

Keep expecting them to drop back, incredible start. If they're ever going to win it...
This may prove to be the statistical version of "who can stop the Guildford Flames?" of course, sadly the Yorks look best placed to capitalise on any wobbles.

This is what happens when you pander to the small clubs and bring in a fairly low wage cap I suppose, levels the playing field. Great for the smaller teams and big boys owners who want to keep more profits, not so good for fans of bigger teams who might think how are my team being regularly beaten by a team who only get a quarter of the crowd my team does !

Lucky you're well out of it then, no worries.
I'd be perfectly happy with a league of 10 well matched teams tbh. Sadly some teams seem to get much better VFM than others.

You don’t get points for the size of your crowd.

You don’t get points for the size of your crowd. Indeed you don’t,but you should, because with a far bigger crowd you ought to be able to afford far better players. Instead of that the only thing bigger is the team owners bank balance !

Instead of that the only thing bigger is the team owners bank balance ! And without a wage cap you end up in a 4 team league. The ISL, for example. For all its bluster, the ISL really didn't attract all that many top end talents, just a load of career minor leaguers. The EIHL isn't perfect, but I'm with Yotes, a competitive league, where any team can beat any other on any night, is what I want to watch. All teams winning all their home games is the utopia? You wouldn't swap any Panther for any Flame on paper, and yet look at the league. Surely you can't say the owner is the reason the Flames are flying high? I dread to think what you would've said pre-season if Panthers had signed the Flames' roster? Anyway, this is a debate that's been had over and over.

Over promising and under delivering is the age-old Panthers problem. And who's betting that next years wage cap is even lower

Yes yes, good for the little teams to win a few games, although ISL teams would walk all over what you’re watching these days. I guess as a fan of one of the bigger richer teams you don’t think you’re being shortchanged then. Down at the NIC it must be like going to a fancy expensive restaurant for what should be a slap up quality meal, getting served a cold McDonald’s happy meal then continuing to go back there again and again.
