Apparently Kelman confirmed the cap a week or so ago at £12.5k maximum and I think it was £8k minimum spend. Didn't they also put an advert up for more clubs to come up to the EIHL? Not sure about that,I haven’t seen one.

I knew you'd say that. It’s actually not a bad comeback answer though. When Matt Carter is top five that shows what sort of quality you get when you bring in a very paltry wage cap of only £12.5k a week. Just think there are premiership footballers earning more in a week than most EIHL complete rosters earn combined in a WHOLE season. It’s a lazy comeback. (As is the premiership footballer argument.) Echo chamber stuff which ignores the inconvenient fact that Carter, like it or not, is a point a game EIHL player, in his last 2 stints in this league, unlike a few on this “expensive” Panthers roster. And plenty around the league. Maybe the default argument is faulty?

Not cheap but not the most expensive. The joys of speculation.

I'd love for the stattos to tell us a conversion rate for shots on goals into actual goals. It feels like it should be very poor. Rather incredibly, Panthers shot conversion rate in the first period of the 8 league games so far is now 1 for 104. Yes, not a misprint, 1 goal so far this year scored in the first period, the league anyway.* Steelers have scored 15 for 133 in their 11 games in the first period. Flames 15 for 132 in 11. Flames have scored in the first period in 8 out of 11 games. There does seem to be somewhat of an issue in getting the team out of the blocks, it appears. To be fair, Panthers have only let 5 in in the first in those 8 games, and do outshoot their opponents combined, 104 to 93. *8 for 117 in the 7 cup games.

Bob what was our league record, both home and away, in the 19/20 season? I seem to recall that we were better away from home that season, potentially as a result of how Wallace likes to set the team up. We’ve only played one away league game so far this season, which was in Cardiff, and we won. We’ve currently played 7 home league games and we’ve got 8/14 points. We’ve not got a decent range of stats to compare this season to 19/20 yet but it will be interesting to see how we do in the away games coming up.

I know we didn’t complete all the games but that home record wasn’t great really, certainly not good enough to win the league, the away record was pretty respectable though. Hopefully we don’t see a similar home record this season.
