Blimey to say it’s apparently a “huge game” tonight it’s very quiet on this thread. 🤔

I mean, it's a pointless cup game. I'm going and I think it will be an okay game to watch, but there's no consequence to winning or losing over than being able to gloat tonight. Not like we can say it's an important must win game or anything. The CC group stage is unfortunately a farce.

For me the main thing is we don’t get any more injuries out of this game but I still want us to win to keep the momentum going. Also, we’ve not had a home win against Sheffield with fans in attendance since September 2019. It would be nice if we can get one!

The seeding carries on, so later on the higher seed gets to pick home/away legs. Group winners will be seeds 1-3.

Good game. Dodged the 3rd period bullet and won in OT

Norrish gets better with each game. In fact, the dcorps looks strong. Wish the forwards looked as sharp but the team is improving

That was a great game of Ice Hockey.
You can say what you want about the Cup Format but both teams and bot sets of supporters wanted that win badly.
Must admit in the 3rd Period, I thought that after all the chances and saves by their Keeper (No way he faced 51 Shots though) that it would go true to form and that Sheffield will take a late oppertunity and get a winner also in O.T. (When they had a PP, I definitely thought that this was it) Boy, In was glad I was wrong.
Great finish by Domingue in O.T. for the winner (Glad the opportunity fell to him)
The Officials did something that united both teams (A rareity) by some dodgy calls. Can someone explain how Tousignant got a Too Many Men On The Ice Penalty after the Official opened up the door (He didn't break it open nor climb over it)
Keeping in the winning habit is always a great thing especially with 2 tough games coming up.
Don't know if Sheffield are playing tommorrow but this was a type of game that might wear them out for it.

A sloppy game in a pretty meaningless game based on an illogical format for the challenge cup groups. Not a great advert for this particular competition. Despite that, it’s nice to get a win to keep some momentum going into the important league games next weekend.

The reason would be for having touched the puck (been in play) but still classed as out of play - skate/s in the box I would assume.

He cannot play the puck until he has stepped onto the ice with both skates. This is frustrating but 100% the right call. The Steelers players instantly spotted this and immediately protested. EDIT: Spik beat me to it!

I really enjoyed that game, short benched but what a feeling that was when Domingue bagged the winner, to say the game was pointless that was brilliant!
We showed good character after we went behind and brought it level. I have to admit I thought it was curtains after Carr gave away the penalty in OT, but boy did we kill the penalty well. The powerplay was abysmal tonight, we scored a nice goal on the 5 on 3 but when we were 5 on 4 we weren’t clinical enough. I have to say though, Stojanovic was solid, if I was Sheffield I’d be letting Brust go and keep him as No1.
Finally, I felt Norrish didn’t have one of his best games but he came up big late on and made a huge block when Carr was out of position and the net was empty. The team certainly played like they cared tonight and I’m glad they did!
Keep it going Panthers!

It was important to maintain the momentum of wins. But also to get one over on a rival as well. Playing with 5 D is always tough and we seemed to manage that relatively well. PP was really poor but the PK did its job. Myers was fantastic on the boards and face off circle all night.
CC groups are a joke considering we’ve already qualified now. A reformat is certainly needed

Never ever seen so many empty seats for a Steelers game (although we still managed to get a pair of particularly obnoxious drunks sat behind us). Sheffield are killing us on bums on seats.

It wasn’t as full as you’d expect for a Sheffield game but I honestly think it’s down to the cup format. We’ve played Sheffield too many times already so the casual fans might not be interested and then a lot of season ticket holders are disillusioned with the format. Despite the lower than normal attendance I thought the atmosphere was great, drunken fools aside. Another point, we play Dundee at home on Sat 6th Nov, we then play Manchester at home the following day, Sun 7th Nov, in the cup. If they don’t introduce some more discounts and/or deals for that cup game than I think we could have an embarrassingly low attendance. Time for a revamp of the cup format.

I've not been able to attend since the Dundee league game so not yet formed too many clear opinions on the team. Norrish to me is the clear standout player so far. Domingue looks to be proving he can cut it at full EIHL level whilst Boivin is struggling a little so far(hopefully wont be long). The team as a whole is doing well and long may it continue, but it does feel like we are missing a key piece or 2. I think we lack a little bit of star quality in the forwards. Nobody really stands out to be cut,nor deserves it but it may be needed at some point. I really think though that a Cam Janssen type could ignite this team. We were spoilt with him and im not sure we'll ever see anything close to him again. I'm not talking about a McGratton or any standard enforcer type. It'd have to be the full Janssen energy package. Common sense suggests with smaller rosters wecouldnt afford to carry somebody like that, but I think this team is fairly well tooled up in other departments. I genuinely feel like it could work for this group.

What we seem to be missing is the go to shooter on the power play like Clarke or dare I say it, Legue. Some one for the opposition to think, if the puck goes to him, he'll hit the target.
