Suoranta only had a couple of shifts yesterday. Hopefully we weren’t playing him as a pre-caution for today’s game. We’ll need him if we’re to get a result against Cardiff.

2-2 after 2 periods. 23 shots each.
Current thoughts: - Panthers look good in transition - Devils look good in possession, setting up in our zone - Devils helmets are unbelievable tacky. - Kelman must have left a little brown packet in the Officials dressing room. A couple if the calls for Devils after they went 2-0 down seemed pretty weak. - Devils powerplay looks 10 times better than our own.

Losing to a 'spent force' with the greatest dman in EIHL history.
Get absolutely wrecked you tossers.
p.s. £15.

The first period was devoid of any real quality from either team, no real flow to the game however picked up tremendously in the 2nd and for the rest of the game. Great fun in the end and a really good win for us.
All 7 goals were decent in the game but the game turned on the SH goal from Betteridge, to steal the puck and finish with aplomb killed the Cardiff momentum.
Cardiff have got a gem in Brodie Reid but I do not rate (and haven’t since seeing their first CHL game) their new netminder whatsoever. I do think Cardiff seem to have lost some of their aura.
I would love to know what are being counted as shots these days in the EIHL as I can’t believe for a 2nd there were 34 shots on target in the first between both teams.

If I can try to find a negative, it would be that the last 10 minutes were boring and flat, but then again, it's because we smashed in 3 quick goals to start the period, killed the game and just played it safe to pick up the 2 points. Sorry that still ended up as a positive!

Great result, let’s not get too negative, eh? 😂 I’m sure someone will be negative….wonder who? Im sure that they're shocked that a team full of superior CV, high end Imports that were going to be neck and neck with Belfast for the Title were beaten by a team of bargin basement, cheaper options.
Anyway, the pace for the 1st period did seem slow however it pick up in the other 2.
Really glad that we've seem to have found the scoring touch but I do think that we need a Goal Scoring Centre.
Whilst it's good beating Cardiff, we have got to beat Sheffield and Belfast on a consistant basis.
Also got to beat Guildford on Wednesday to keep the momentum going.

Totally agree on everything. A centre like Gallant, Tessier or Fox

Just take a trek over to the last message on the 'Fixtures and Statistics' thread and see what the problem is at Elite towers.

Brilliant result tonight, really pleased with how we played and enjoyed it a lot!
Although our powerplay really wasn’t clicking we’ve managed to score 5 goals, one of them a shorty as well. Tousi, Myers and Ollie look to have formed a really solid line, they’ve found some chemistry. We scored some scruffy goals today, which is great to see, but Domingue’s goal was an absolute laser, he’s got a great shot.
Even with Suoranta missing we looked really good, hopefully he returns on Wednesday against Guildford and we can get all 4 lines rolling.

"dominating" might be a bit much, but he brings 100% compete every night and is a nuisance with Ollie and Tousignant (and sometimes Kelsall) on that shutdown and grind line. Works hard on the forecheck and against the boards and creates Ollie's game winner.

The first period was some of dullest most boring hockey I've seen in ages but after that it was a lot better.
Devils didn't really offer a great deal and whilst we were slow to get going once we did, we were by far the better team and fully deserved the win.
Carruth in goal for Cardiff looked pretty shaky and didn't catch much.
On a side note I know that there has been some technical issues with the sound this season but the intro tonight sounded abysmal, the music was distorted, muffled and at one point it sounded like two tracks were playing at the same time. I hope it gets sorted soon. I'm in block 13 so not sure if sounded better in other blocks.
