Worst hit of the season so far. Sees him vulnerable and makes sure to contact the head. Deliberate and malicious IMHO. 2 games seems a massive let off.

Louis decks Turtle man, McNally decks Connolly, and Carruth decks fat boy not so slim, Armstrong then tries to get involved and is decked by Batch. We then go on to take max points in Reg time happy days.

Tyson Marsh flashbacks anyone?

See I'd disagree. It's worthy of a ban as to quote DOPS it was "predatory" in terms of him picking his target. However, the majority of the contact seems to be through Bouchers shoulder and he doesn't seem to aim for the head. Ellerby deliberately targets the head of a player who is falling down. I think the context of being 5-0 down at home is important as it's likely borne out of frustration. In my opinion it's malicious and more dangerous than Haas. It's not as forceful, but when you're delivering 100% of the force to the head of a player and driving it into the boards, that's a bigger no no for me.

Tyson Marsh flashbacks anyone? Not sure it'll have quite the same impact. Duggan (thankfully) seems okay. Plus the Marsh incident had the added indignity of being reduced on appeal to stoke the flames. Without the appeal, I reckon there wouldn't have been a bell to answer as it'll have faded. I'm sure he would have been lined up for some big hits, but not a demand from Cam to answer the bell.

Hmm, not convinced. He comes from a long way but he glides into the hit. The Giants forward, who has the puck under some sort of control, is faffing about in the offensive zone bent double and has put himself in a pretty vulnerable position, do players not have to have any sort of awareness anymore? He doesn't come from his blindside. As for not making a play with his stick, are you not allowed to make a check to separate man from puck anymore?

Must be just me that can’t see anything much wrong with that Haas hit. Yes he hits him hard but Haas stops skating and I’m not sure he even hits Bouchers head.

I was thinking more along the lines of an 'expected' on ice resolution if required as it was a pretty bad hit & the punishment handed out by DOPS could maybe be deemed lenient?! Not quite the same sense of injustice though perhaps, yes.

Yes I watched the game. Yet another bad hit from a guy who has already done the same this season. If this hit was on a Panthers player the pitchforks and torches would already be handed out

I see nil points Valdix has re signed in Sheffield 🤣 And yet that's not really quite accurate is it Pidge? The IIHF have granted the Steelers an extra roster spot to bring in Valdix (try out contract) as injury cover *only for the Continental Cup*. Just as Devil's were allowed to add a loan player for their European adventure without affecting their roster allowance. The Continental Cup falls under IIHF rules not EIHL so doesn't currently change their EIHL roster allowance. They haven't re-signed him for the EIHL. And won't have to - unless they then decided they want to bring him back for EIHL play *after the Continental Cup*. The press release makes it quite clear they haven't made a roster change under EIHL rules and that he is ineligible for EIHL play unless they later decide to sign him. Even Elite Prospects transfer service specifically lists his transfer as "For Continental Cup Only"

If Valdix impresses in the CC this weekend then he'll be retained for the rest of the season believe me !

If you can point me to the source that says he was signed for a weekend only...? By your own logic, "Nil points" Valdix surely won't be signed full time? Unless he has some special Sheffield mojo thing going on... (Which, to be fair, he may well have)
