Can I just say…man it’s good to see these threads with an actual game to go to!
Devils fresh off 4 games in the CHL will be the fitter of the teams but they already looked banged up from that. Cup goes to Cardiff on fitness alone but honestly don’t even care.

This will be an absolute walkover for Cardiff, night & day for them.
Those of you who are able to attend, enjoy.

We really are the Arsenal of Ice hockey at times At times? A good 90% of the time, starting to get frustrated with the import situation

A good 90% of the time, starting to get frustrated with the import situation Exactly.. it's alright saying they are waiting for imports to become available but that means they are trying to get them at bottom price and not spend the going rate for one.. I expect this import to come in and rip up this league but in reality it ain't going to happen. Lane and Brassard was announced months ago.. why ain't they arrived in Nottingham yet? Sorry but the whole preparation stinks.

Based on nothing but past experience of these preseason events, I can see a split series, both sides winning their home game.
I presume it's an aggregate score job, so I'll go with Cardiff to take the overall victory.

Is that your AHL winger who won't be here til October then? I'm staggered a sports team continue to make the same mistakes year after year and actually put themselves at a disadvantage !

When Chernomaz took over & also Doucet/Wallace's 1st preseason, pretty much all players were here at least before the end of training camp. It seems we've gone backwards to the lax Neildon preseason days. It's embarrassing that a supposed proffesional club, one that wastes no time telling people it's 75 years old can't sign all it's players & have them here on time. I did hear Doucet mutter 'I don't want to talk aboutthat when Gary asked him about signing the final 2 imports... All obviously hasn't gone to plan. You'd think given the last 18 months Panthers would do everything possible to get their fans back into the Arena. Players not being here/signed is only going to restart or reinforce the apathy some fans had toward the club.

They are keen to keep reminding all and sundry that the first game is this week but after 18 months away it seems like same old panthers! I absolutely guarantee when these final import(s) are announced I'll be struggling to understand why they waited as I'm not expecting a stud at all.. and will be followed by "we've waited and waited for this! "

For stats purposes these are the hardest games to get hold of, less I am given a GRS. So let me know where the stats are seen, understood or tell me yourself please for these first FOUR games.
In addition, I will be posting a thread for the usual 'Fixtures and Statistics' for this 2021-22 season on Thursday. It will ONLY be in construction stage early on with nothing really to read up. So ignore till post game time.

When Chernomaz took over & also Doucet/Wallace's 1st preseason, pretty much all players were here at least before the end of training camp. There's no reason to think they won't all be in place before the first proper game on the 26th. I agree that it's annoying and that the roster we plan to send out for game one should all be here to start preseason together today, but it never goes like that with any team over here from what I've seen. If we're short on that Sunday then fair enough, both barrels, but we're still a way from that. If they're all in for the final week of training I'd see that as a reasonable, if not ideal, build up personally.

We’re still doing a longer training camp than all bar Cardiff. I don’t think Belfast are even doing one. So perspective on this.

I agree, if all the team is here for the 26th then that’s great. How likely do we think this will be with travel, isolation and paperwork? Well I counted 16 at camp today that's at least 3 short .. Probably unlikely if this import isn't yet signed only 3 weeks to sort visa out and any isolation?? .. like jord says this rate the full roster won't ice til October Maybe Giants don't have a pre season but you can guarantee they will have a full roster on the ice for their first game.. And I bet sheff have a full roster on the ice for their first game on the 19th.. Not..good..enough....

Decisions on standard work permit applications can take up to 3 weeks. It is also possible to pay extra to get a work permit approved (or not as the case may be) either within 5 days or a next day service I can't see Panthers paying for the quicker services... though I may be wrong. Also you can apply for a work permit upto 3 months before you are due to enter the UK. As such there is no excuse (other than personal issues or problems with the application itself) for any of the imports signed not to be here already. www.gov.uk/guidance/visa-decision-waiting-times-applications-outside-the-uk
