what in god's name is an independent clause sentence, if you don't mind me asking. I'd attach an emoji of some-one smacking their forehead, if I could find one ! It's a sentence that has a subject and a verb and requires no extra information to understand... They are very common in sports writing/reporting as the writer is presenting enough pertinent information to close a sentence & wishes to move on to the next period of time in the whole event. In the EIHL game report some of these sentences are actually built correctly, you will see the 'and,' which is the correct way to present such a sentence. However littered throughout are instances where a hyphen is used to portray the same build of sentence which is incorrect & to a keen eye like my own smacks of general laziness/ineptitude. I'd have hated being sat next to you in English class, but thanks for the explanation, and I get what you mean about (and understand your frustration with) lazy grammar.

It's part of my own profession so mildly close to my heart I guess. To be able to write the same kind of information in a short space of work & at the same time make it apposite, interesting & grammatically accurate is a proper skill. I think the writer on this occasion is attempting to form different types of sentences to depict the action. No harm in this, I often do so myself; but, it's generally the best idea to do this in the correct manner. I hope you see what I did there in the last sentence... lol.

Nothing game we are out they are the best in our group, it’s free on the tv no brainer shorley, It’s now all about Giants and the bread and butter of our league, when you reach these dizzy heights you will be able to comment but for now as you are a spent force take it on the chin like Wilder. Your forgetting Sheffield in the 'other' Cup event abroad SHORLEY?

Just watching Rouen v Tappara, 2nd leg, 3-3 from first leg, 0-0 after1, all Tappara. Reminds me of Panthers v Bern. Wouldn't be surprised if Rouen steal it.Remember going to Rouen to watch Panthers.

Rouen was a great trip, much better than that awful rink in Amiens that looked like it should have been a swimming pool.

Think the final year we played the Germans first in the smaller rink then played Amiens and the University in the bigger rink

Think the final year we played the Germans first in the smaller rink then played Amiens and the University in the bigger rink I’m talking the first time in Amiens when we played Milan, Llublijana and Amiens. The Slovenians turned up with a couple of NHLers who had dodgy registration, GM objected so they couldn’t play and that’s why the Slovenians threw their last game and thus knocked Panthers out.

Yes that year we only played in the one arena. That was Continental Cup, later trips were all pre season

Rouen have played out of their skins to get to the last 8 of the CHL, first French league (often thought to be on a par with the IEHL, standard wise) team to do so? Andrew Johnston, ex Blaze, playing for them.

Rogle are playing well this year. That will be a epic semi final. The Indians will start favourites and have 2 future NHL sstar in particular Simon Edvinsson who's will be next Hedman or better
