"The style of the league appealed to me," Cameron told BBC Scotland. "It's a very similar style of hockey. I know the fans like a rough, physical and aggressive game over there. I like the challenge and it's one that appealed to me because of that play. Should be interesting to see what type of roster he signs. Probably not filled with Scandinavians !! I would expect he will have some good contacts having spent many years in the ECHL. Is the Scottish officiating quite 'generous' at times? He's also from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia birthplace of Sidney Crosby, but I don't think Neil Black will push the boat out that far.

Steelers say they have completed their Brit pack with David Phillips and Sam Jones.. they have 5
If that's the case panthers ain't signing BOC .. it leaves panthers extremely weak especially in the forwards!

Exactly this. I mentioned the same thing on one of the rumour threads just a few days ago. Whether there is to be a roster limited to 5 brits and 14 imports remains to be seen Or perhaps Squeelers have in this instance opted just for 5 brits whilst putting extra monies into the imports instead time will reveal all. If we can't hold on to players after winning something what does that tell you about the desire of the club to win more things? Still it could be worse we could have re-signed Brett Bulmer....

If they've changed the rules (again), why can't they just announce it?

If they've changed the rules (again), why can't they just announce it? It's the EIHL. The clubs aren't going to want to publicise rule changes which could potentially lower the quality of the league and result in some of the clubs fans then deciding to no longer attend games. Especially given the events over the last year or so. It's money... as it always is with the EIHL. They probably see keeping the rule changes as long as possible as protecting their product....

He should be able to coast even more in that league and still rack up the points. Like Lawrence before him I never got the adulation that certain section had for him. Lawrence's adulation seemed to be because he liked a drink.... im glad I never went to the quiz nights...

Giants netminding looks strong with today's signings. Do we assume we're going with Carr and Kerlin? Spare import back up for us maybe? You'd like to think so, with all due respect to Kerlin, if something was to happen with Carr, I'd want someone ready to start games. Maybe get a youngster on loan from a top Euro League like we did with Modig and Pacl. Don't want to be scrambling for someone if we have big games coming up.

Not saying you're wrong, you're probably right, but it seems hugely unlikely to me that season ticket holders would be that bothered. A lot of ours would still buy a ST if the Panthers decided to send out Gary as first line centre. Walk-ups might be more discerning, but they'll know what's what anyway by the time it gets to them. It's just annoying, takes away the ability to see who still needs what etc, which is one of the few points of modest interest in the long off season.

I mean the league as a whole as there's clubs in a far more precarious position than us im sure. But I take your point. And I have to admit that I've already renewed my season ticket - health ppermitted Tongue in cheek here but for those who can remember Ian Morgan, I'm sure Gary couldn't be much worse than him..😁

They did well to keep him for 3 years. Another good season in Slovakia last year by the look of things. EBEL changed its name again I see.

www.eliteprospects.com/player/9282/martin-latalAm I missing something with Sheffields new signing? I can't imagine many positive comments on here had we signed him. He comes from 14 years in the Czech Extraliga, which I know is a good standard. Clearly he is a good player to play so long in a good league but, he's a 33 year old winger, 0.28ppg and averages less than 20PIMs a season. On paper(I know, I know) he doesn't look much of a signing. This is Sheffield though so he'll probably somehow tear it up.

Although he was in the juniors in the same place as Jaromir Jagr once was if that makes any difference ! (God Sheffield I’ve heard some crap !) 🙄

Saw this yestersay. I'm a bit old school and love the look of this guy. EIHL refs on the other hand. 🤷♂️

The new Steelers signing…does absolutely nothing for me…barely scratched double figures in points. I understand the whole defensive forward part but those numbers look super poor for me
