Now have 6 import dmen plus Garside. They must think the league is worth winning.

Now have 6 import dmen plus Garside. They must think the league is worth winning. And they have the stingiest defence already by some way. They've only conceded 77 goals... ... To our 136. Yep you read that right, 136. Only teams to concede more than Panthers are Manchester and Fife who currently sit 9th and 10th. Running with 5 defensemen for so long was madness.

A coincidence I'm sure that the top 3 all have a far more experienced goalie tandem.

I suspect if they were doing "all they could" they could maybe tempt someone to Belfast who'd at least played a game in the last 2 years. Add to that the line in the press release "He will return within the next few weeks" and it hardly seems like they're pulling out all the stops.

Suppose there are 3 ways to go. Bring someone in just in case you get injuries, bring someone in when you get an injury, or get an injury, give the injured player a few weeks to get fit, find out the injury is more serious than thought THEN start looking for a replacement.

Just have a NB wage cap and don't replace anyone until the boo's get louder

Has he played in every single league game this year? He has started every league game. Will Kerlin has started 3 games, all against Storm in the Challenge Cup. Wednesday night was Carr's 39th straight start in all competitions

It's a great effort from him in fairness, from a durability point of view if nothing else.

And the only time in years Panthers had a real solid and perfectly balanced defence. Bringing a player in mid season also gives you a chance to see a potential player for next year,if he turns out good then keep him,if not then you’ve not lost much.

Has he played in every single league game this year? I think so, yes. Will check later. The only league game Kerlin has played in was in relief of Carr on 12 December, in Belfast. Fife's Owen has played all of all but one of their 40 league games. Up to the last three games, Preece in Dundee hadn't played a minute in the league. Linskoug in Guildford had played in all league games prior to the third netminder being signed.

I can’t see the point in letting Jackson Whistle go and the playing Kerling. The reason Carr has so many games is because that’s what he wants. Putting Kerling in goal against any team now would mean problems that this team wouldn’t cope with.

If we were playing 4 games a week, in quick succession, regularly, I can see the need to rest Carr occasionally. But at present he should be able to manage the workload.

The one thing this team does is work hard and Carr buys into that. I can't imagine taking him out to play Kerlin just to give Kerlin a game.

Why bother with IR,they aren’t going to replace him ? Makes you wonder if panthers know what Injury reserve is or just playing with fancy words! Nothing panthers do makes any sense mate

Why bother with IR,they aren’t going to replace him ? Not sure that is the case? It doesn't say that there will not be a replacement? Granted, maybe they won't, but putting him formally on IR does at least allow the option. Whether it's taken up or not remains to be seen. Leaving him as just "injured" means no replacement is allowed. It also (unless I'm missing something) means that he can't play until 17th April earliest, even if there was some miracle recovery. Which leads me to think it's not a minor knock...
