He's more than welcome here, he already knows this. All fans of EIHL teams are, no matter their IQ level. As Devils' posters go he's actually quite harmless. We've had some right idiots have very brief stays in the past.

Oh I know he's harmless. A few other words ending in less too. Clue would be the first one that springs to mind. Thing is, if he loses an argument he turns into a petulant child and sulks, meaning he'll start posting more drivel on the inferno, and I read that a lot more than I read the cage, so do me a favour and don't rile the silly old sod up too much, there's a good chap.

God another moron shoving his head above the abyss. Sam the Sham. Go away dickhead. Haha. See, petulant child. He embarrasses himself and what's worse tarnishes other Cardiff fans with his constant tired old clichéd remarks. You'd never think he was a pensioner given his responses are about as eloquent and mature as a solvent abusing 12 year old. Really really embarrassing. I won't be posting here much though, this forum format isn't very user friendly when you are on an out dated ps4 browser.

So what the EIHL have said today gives them about 140 days to play presumably 54 league games,or 1 game every 2.6 days.and that’s with no mention of any challenge cup games. With that amount of games crammed together and presuming a fair number of people will be worried about being in busy arena’s then that’s going to hit crowds and has got trouble written all over it. And that’s without a second wave coming too....if it did and part way through the season and we had another lockdown after teams have spent all the money getting players over here then that’s going to spell the end for some.

I'm in full agreement with Jord, Pidge and Iginla regarding the season, it's just not going to happen barring a huge scientific breakthrough but can't we just rise above the childishness regarding Wannabe? Particularly the 'You don't know who I am' angle, is that where we're at now? Let's not make the off-season feel even longer than it needs to.
As much as I think Wannabe is optimistic to the extreme, I don't feel holding a differing view should warrant ridicule and he comes across to me as harmless, just has Cardiff tinted glasses which is no crime even on a Panthers forum.
Back to the topic. If I was in EIHL towers my priority would turn to the British players who when things return to normal will need to return to life as pro hockey players. We need to find a way to get our players on the ice, even if it's just training camps or exhibition games. Next year is a big opportunity at the world championships but I fear with no 20/21 EIHL season it's not impossible that we will see a handful of older players retire to find a job that can actually pay the bills during all this uncertainty.
So at this stage, I'd rather hear updates from Team GB rather than the EIHL who won't be able to offer a real update until we have a vaccine or reliable treatment of the virus.

You make a good point there.. supposed the season commences then gets cancelled 2 months in and like you say all that money spent flying players over here. Cramming 60 odd games into barely 5 months will test the skills of sorting out ice time as well.. it will be 3 games a week. This 6-8 weeks which Smith says to assemble teams and sort paperwork out? Yeah OK then

Point taken Stratty & apologies to the forum for that escalating in public, should have been handled in PM/elsewhere.

The CC cup wouldn't be going ahead & the league campaign would be shortened. Those are both given's.
They need the fans money to make it possible, this was always blatantly obvious. To put as much in the statement is almost providing an excuse for when they do write the whole thing off in a couple of Months.
The regulars who go to games regularly on here, whether it be season ticket or 'pay on the gate', would you contemplate attending from December on wards if we are still suffering Covid related occurrences in the Country? In more than a quarter say yes I'll be amazed.

The posters on here make a small, small minority of those who attend games so any 'poll' would be meaningless, more so because many of the most prolific posters are, by their own admission, non attenders to games.
Everything is wait and see as no-one knows what is going to happen, despite 'cast iron' guarantees by some that we will get a second wave and when. Will the season start, or even happen? I don't know, hopeful? Yes, mainly because I am an attender; but wont guess, speculate or profess to being in the know because I don't.

I'm sure the answer is "we don't know", but how are Cardiff expected to compete in the CHL if the proposed EIHL season isn't starting until at least three months after the opening of the CHL?

Agree Robbie but surely there's an ability to see what could and couldn't be plausible by December? Our government are only starting to get the Country going again now by baby steps, can you seriously envisage even the most fervent of fans being up for attending?

I would be amazed if they didn’t still try to go with a full 54 game season, because if they went with say a 36 game season (ie. two home/two away) could the smaller teams afford the expense of setting all the season up to then only get income from 18 home games ? I seriously doubt they could. It’s rather strange they never mentioned any length of season whatsoever really.

Can we desist with the squabbles now please? (Not aimed especially at Wannabe, who has been on the receiving end of it for the most part.)
I've dropped the ball with not stopping it sooner, so I apologise for that to anyone on the receiving end, but that'll now be happening.
Everyone, from whichever fanbase, or glass half full/empty viewpoint, is welcome to post on here.

I shall refrain from flaming posters who insist on dousing themselves in petrol in future. On topic, and I've said this before on the inferno, some clubs are being proactive, Cardiff are one such club. Others that are saying and appear to be doing nothing are being reactive which is understandable. It doesn't matter what Smith and the board say, if the government say no indoor spectator sports for the next 9 or 10 months there is no 2020/2021 season. If a miracle cure or vaccine is found between now and then, things will get moving and a semblance of normality should return but until then it's up to the politicians. God help us.
