Doing webcasts won't be enough to keep clubs afloat anyway. It just isn't financially viable. Unless 5000 log in every week at 20 quid a stream. In reality no more than a few hundred will. It's not great to watch live at the rinks these days let alone on a tv screen ! Next season is going to rely on fans being generous, I hope you’re wrong and people realise this. Afraid you reap what you sow. Panthers org. have a long proven history of disingenuous behaviour. It costs way more to 'buy' new customers than to lose old ones.

Did you see the German football in an empty stadium yesterday ? Oh dear it was poor, goal scored....virtual silence ! Hockey would be just the same, after maybe a couple of webcasts I reckon a lot of people wouldn’t bother watching anymore. Like I said yesterday people going crazy watching german football in empty stadiums posting photos etc saying football is back.. that novelty will ware off as its bloody awful to watch . Hockey will be 10x worse if not more. The future of hockey is only going in one direction while social distancing is in place and its gong nowhere for quite some time

It will work with football, it's a vastly more popular sport & has huge investments across many levels.
Ice hockey however, especially in this Country... hmm...

Hes adamant he will be getting a refund as he will not be taking up their offer of those 5 games next year. Jord? Do you think he has a chance knowing Panthers stubborn stance on being generous?

I have enjoyed most games I have watched, along with many others and have missed it big time. Stay safe all. It's just bearable yes in a rink but can you watch a full season of webcasts?

Well I’d say it probably costs Panthers about £40k a week to put the current quality of hockey on the ice. So at £12 a webcast they would need to sell some 3500 webcasts every home game just to break even. Would they do that for a normal 30 weeks or even twice a week over a shortened season ? I’d say not a cat in hells chance !

The passionate will watch, Pidge. Every sport has its hardcore element.
Problem is there isn't enough of them, not even close.

Once they are set on a decision they don't move!

I mentioned if Panthers would do a webcast when things at some time return to some normality, not to replace crowds, Clan are talking about it and as the owner is the same I wondered about you guys.

Officially Panthers had said nothing... To anyone... About anything. Which is totally per the script.
Other teams talk to their fans, start to announce players, at least try to bridge the gaps during these mad times.
Again I'm afraid you reap what you sow. When you need the fans the most, the same fans you've continually screwed over is a variety of different ways, then you've had it.

Why would we announced signings, season tickets etc at this time when there is no guarantee of their being a season at all? The club are releasing the interviews and podcasts, some old games so they are bridging the gap in these current times. Whilst it’s not perfect it’s better than they’ve ever done and I think the club are being sensible for once in not saying anything about players/ST/Webcasts.

Look at what the other teams in the league are doing. Social media wise the Panthers have done a great job lately, but for actual news it's been typically shoddy.

There’s no guarantee of anything happening, what’s the point in announcing things to eventually back track? With the way things are it’s much better saying nothing in my opinion until the situation becomes clearer.

Just a thought. What if Panthers decided to not enter any league next season, but wait 12 months. Maybe, Cardiff/Manchester/Coventry and Dundee cannot afford to wait a season, so have agreed to play behind closed doors and have signed players.
On another point, listening to some on here, next season will not work at all, so why don't we just shut up shop and close ice hockey down totally? Alternatively, rather than being so pessimistic, come up with sensible ideas which may work, though I'm not holding my breath.

Agreed, you can be realistic whilst still remaining positive and optimistic. This forum doesn’t represent the majority of our fanbase either, there will be a lot of people willing to support the club next season, regardless of what has happened in the past.

I am fully aware people will have different expectations at the best of times but even more so during this pandemic, so out of interest what do you expect/want? What do you want that something to look like? You’re right my expectations are being met right now as without knowing if/what were going to get next season then I don’t see the point in saying anything. I am intrigued to see what the club does do if there is progress in terms of going ahead with the season. (i expect history to repeat itself at that point and us be slow off the mark as we routinely are).

What do I expect, well, nothing really... So they are meeting my lowly expectations also. Seriously though seeing other EIHL teams making some progress, although I acknowledge it could well be pointless, it just seems Panthers are treating the fans with the usual contempt.
I accept it's a difficult time of course, & the social media output has certainly been a vast improvement, but I would have expected the official line from the club to be a little more visible.
Panthers are very much a keep them in the dark organization, especially from those with actual power; I know this very well. I would argue during these darkest times it is the very time to be doing a little more than completely nothing.
