Is it summer holidays already? I'm disappointed Jord didn't spot this one though. Apologies, been busy with all this contract stuff recently. Occasionally a complete moron slips the net. 😂😂😂

Signing of the summer?! Have a word. Looks like a Parent, Loyns, Henderson signing to me, all of whom offered virtually nothing in terms of points output. Yes every team needs some defensive contribution from offence and he was obviously valued for this in the AHL but these aren’t the sort of players that are going to be game changers in this league. I much prefer my defensive forwards in the mould of Benedict - players who graft but can also offer some offence. Obviously all conjecture and guess work at this stage but I suspect this guy will be a 0.5 ppg 3rd liner.
Sick of saying it every year but yet again I worry where our goals are coming from. Assuming Kelsall is going to be one of our 12 forwards, we now have 7/12 signed and none look like forward studs. I hope the best 5 are being saved until last or this could be a long season.

This guy will be a top 6 forward .. end of... let's be sensible So is he the signing of the summer or is he possibly Panthers no6 forward ? Could be both certainly one of those. Put it this way if he isn't top 6 I'm very excited to see the quality of our top 6 forwards! And I didn't think you comment on signings?

I still don’t understand why people are using his stats to judge him when we know that he was pigeonholed into a defensive forward and with us he’ll be able to stretch his legs and show us what he can provide offensively

Yes we play 4 line hockey in the UK but 5 on 5 I doubt there’s a huge amount of difference in ice time. In the A, there can be huge amounts of difference. And then the players this guy was playing against would have like you say, pigeon holed him.

I’m just replying to your comments, firstly saying he’s “signing of the summer” and then backtracking saying “Panthers top six” which suggests you’ve changed your mind.

Aren't you taking it on faith that he'll have those offensive instincts and skillset though, once given more opportunity? Maybe he was used as a defensive forward because offensively he's been found lacking? He didn't put up any huge numbers at college either, for example. I'm not saying he won't be the second coming of Jordan Fox, hope he is, but given the limit of anyone's (on here) knowledge of this guy is this EP page, there's a lot of assumptions being made based on how he'll perform over here.

Very true. And can he also do it on big ice ? Some of the bigger guys struggle with it.

Of course. I suppose I’m taking his offensive instincts off what GD said. And let’s be honest, GD was very offensively heavy in his career. Be less inclined to believe his judgment of defensive players if I’m honest.

Also at no point have I said Herr is a bad signing, but I think he will be a Good 3rd liner nothing more File this one folks, it could be worth remembering later in the season. FWIW, I think this looks a very nice signing. I’d guess at a lot of offensive upside. 3 years in the A isn’t in any way to be sniffed at. But you may want to file that one too...

Herr's CV screamed quality. Three full AHL seasons at that age.... & he joins the EIHL. Bizarre, but excellent for Panthers.
