I think it's sad that Munson is having to sell his jersey to help fund a flight over for his dad to watch him in the playoffs.. Surely Panthers could've sorted it out, in the grand scheme of things a flight isn't going to do much to the Panthers budget. I’m sure there’s enough small change in the vaults to have flown Munson Sr over to the UK?

The flights are supposed to cost around £900 due to being so late, and it sounds like he must live in a relatively rural area.. but I agree! It's pretty much one 50/50 draw that would be needed to cover it and then still leave £300-£500 left over!

He wants his dad to see him play and the flights are around £900. So he’s decided to auction his black game worn shirt personally signed to try and raise the money to get him here. I would have thought he’s been given permission to sell it as usually these shirts go to either the sponsors or to auction. He’s coming from Minneapolis, it’s not a direct flight hence the cost.

He shouldn’t have to sell his shirt. 🤨 Sounds to me that we need a “just giving” page.

The club should just do a nice thing for a young player and cough up. What's 900 quid to them? It's not even the 50 50.

It's now being done as a raffle, £5 per ticket

Unbelievable, if this club has any designs on keeping him, paying the fare, will go down well.

Why should the club be responsible for this?
I actually respect Munson for his creativity in doing the raffle to raise funds rather than the begging bowl of go fund me pages. It gives something back to his fans and should hopefully help him get his dad over here

I think the lad is gobsmacked to be honest with the support, not many tickets left either.

Why should the club be responsible for this? It's not that they should be responsible, but it's in their interest - if they're that bothered about winning the playoffs - that he feels at his best and gives his best. If flying his dad over gives him a boost, then that works for the club. It's not like he's a senior player. That and Blacky being richer than Croesus.

Nothing against the idea but it sets a dangerous precedent. Do all players' relatives get to be flown over at the club's expense for a weekend? Will that make them all feel better? If not, why just Munson's?

The club ain't obliged to do this tbh. Instances like this its upto the relatives to find funds to book flights.

Regardless of senior, rookie, kid status. You do it for one, others will soon start asking. However it's great to see fans prepared to help him with the shirt raffle. If people can help then why not. It may be a chance in a lifetime for his father simply to travel outside of NA for all we know. I cant imagine they'd take the pee and do this if he could pay for it himself.

The raffle for his jersey has sold out meaning his dad will be able to attend playoffs to watch Patrick in net.
To say this raffle only started yesterday, and his sold in excess of 150 tickets at £5 each is pretty incredible stuff from our fan base. Got to give a lot of credit to Shelly from The Nottingham Legend for organising the raffle.
I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing the club do an official SoHB during the season where the money goes into a family and friends fund, with any left over money going to charity.

Good for young Munson. 👍 That’s certainly one kid who’s going to be busting every muscle to win for his dad and the Panthers fans.

His dad is flying in hopefully from Minneapolis and yes the flights are blinking expensive, no direct flight so two stops and anything from 11-14hrs depending who he flies with. It’s a brilliant response from the fans, not every parent has £900 spare knocking around. I know I don’t & a fiver to make someone happy is worth it. The lad is thrilled.

For clarity, does that mean he is flying in this weekend and able to see the whole thing(should we make it). Or is he coming for POFW and hoping we make it? Im asuming the former?
