2 up and in relative control...beside from Giants hitting the post a few times.
Great chance to go 3 up when we miss an empty net shorthanded...instead we take another penalty and 90 secs later it's 2-2...
All the momentum and confidence then seemed to drain away and I was just shocked it took Giants so long to get the third.

Groundhog day - again. Reasonably comfortable, although Belfast had raised their game and then one penalty and like buses another. We looked shapeless and lacked ideas going forward. Belfast seems to cope easily and there seemed to be a lack of quality. Yet again after a promising start to a season its going down the tube. One just wonders what is going wrong.

The rumours aren’t true after all, we’re not a bunch of homers,
So much for payback and revenge huh and against a very depleted Giants team.
I did think we controlled the first 40 minutes quite comfortably, Garnett saved us a few times though. Doty’s penalty was unnecessary and stupid, not sure if Pithers was a penalty at all.
Keep up the good work Panthers...

This club is sending me insane. Where do we go from here? Do we start chopping players, and I don’t mean just imports.

Saying that if Guptill (I think) hadn't given him that pass too late and into his skates, we'd have been 3 up and game over. Edit - it was Hurtubise per the highlights.

You’d have to think that something would have to give; I appreciate if the two losses were wins, we'd not be having this conversation, but they’ve choked in successive nights when the wins were there to be collected. The form is atrocious as well so my sentiment of changing player personnel isn’t a knee jerk thing.

Different coach. Different players. Same old Panthers.
Nothing will ever change as long as the club is run as it is now.

I appreciate his work rate and effort but thats about all he has. Dont need him as an out and out enforcer and he aint anything special in that department either. Probably one other guy to go to but not 100% on who yet. Plenty of effort from some good players at what they do. You look at 3rd and 4th lines tonight and you never had a feeling they'd get a goal. At the same time the top 6 aint doing enough.

I agree it’s fine margins, we win these two and things are looking better but we haven’t and our previous form paints a bad picture. I don’t know what suggest now, I’m really falling out of love with this team.

The best player we had on the ice tonight left after the ceremonial puck drop.

We don’t have any speed and we don’t have stamina. Belfast played a good road game. Sat back, waited for us to tire and then stepped up the pace and we were chasing shadows for the whole of the third period and overtime.
Also I haven’t seen the arena empty as quickly as I did tonight. Not many stayed for the presentations.

Kovacs, Farmer, Perlini, Lepine, Olsen, Biggs - all under performing

Oh, and despite the early season hilarity, my money is on the Steelers finishing higher than us too in the spring.

Kovacs, Farmer, Perlini, Lepine, Olsen, Biggs - all under performing Kovacs is the other one currently standing out to me. Turnover machine. Not a bad player but easily upgradable. Having said this. The team would look a lot better with Rheault and Boulduc in for Doty and VanKleef(He is great at what he does but adding quality around the others may help their qualities come out) and it looks much better.

Kovacs, Farmer, Perlini, Lepine, Olsen, Biggs - all under performing I agree with you in as much as I can’t see what Biggs and Kovacs are bringing to the team at the moment, and I thought Hughes looked exhausted for the entire game, but I actually thought Olsen was one of the better Panthers on the ice tonight. I guess we all see things differently but things have to change as we are a one trick pony at the moment, and a lame one at that.

I don't even know where to start with the Panthers organisation anymore. There must be something fundamentally wrong behind the scenes. This is becoming far to much of a coincidence that we start a season with what seem like good players. They play quite well and then all.of a sudden lose form and can't string wins together or a decent challenge for honours. We had this issue with CN and thought by bringing in a new coach that things would perhaps be different but it isn't. Sometimes it's not that we lose but it is the manner in which we lose. For such a tough bunch of players we are very mentally soft. I look at this roster and most are not bad players as they showed early on in the season so I really do wonder what has happened. We somehow turned shalla from a goal machine to a damp.squib in the space of a few months. If some of these players were at Cardiff I do.believe they would not be underperforming like they are here. Also listening to radio interviews with Gary moron you would believe that there was nothing wrong and we hadn't lost. We have now lost 7 out of the last 11 games and I don't know where you go from here. I honestly don't believe Bringing in new players will fix what's wrong with Panthers as a whole.

The DNA is based on the rubbish profit oriented management which won’t change. Cups mean more fixtures is why we are a cup team. League over by October. Steelers to finish above us. Black needs to clear off!

Game sheet says just shy of 6K, and I wouldn't disagree with it.

Kovacs, Farmer, Perlini, Lepine, Olsen, Biggs - all under performing I’d take Olsen out of that list but the rest I agree with.

Should have taken this without a problem, but there is a problem whether it be management or locker room; something is very wrong. We looked in control for most of the game and should have put it beyond doubt in the 2nd but lack that touch. We have some very big bodies but where is the physicality and the hitting? Lepine used to hit like a steam train first time round but now nothing, but in fact is more likely to be put on his @rse from a hit than the other way round.
The fourth line, is never going to score a bucket full of goals, they weren't signed for that but they put in the effort and looked more likely to score than some tonight.
Pither's penalty was a bit soft but Dive'id Rutherford sold it a little, (Now's there a player who's a snidy get (belfasts Lloyd replacement)), and gave the 5-3 chance to get one back. OT, we struggled to get out of our zone and looked inevitable that we'd concede at some stage.
Even though giants were missing a lot of players they still looked like they had depth.
