Let’s just see tomorrow’s first two games go to OT and sit back and relax in the evening....

That'd do it for promotion, but not the gold medal

I cannot even begin to describe the atmosphere here with the assembled GB fans. It's times like these that completely justify the cost etc of coming out on these trips. The feeling is incredible. When you think that before the tournament started we were dreading the prospect of repeating the 5 losses out of 5 from the last time we were in Budapest 5 years ago when we got relegated. Now we've won 3 out of 4 and are topping the group going unto the last day!
We're all in shock, in the best way possible. The Budapest bars are about to get a very large and very noisy surprise!

This is unreal. If Panthers CHL campaign didn’t make Europe stand up, this should.

Probably the best GB performance I've ever seen . While not singling anyone out . Perlini has been a cut above this week. O Connor was superb as well.
Could the unthinkable about to happen.
Just one point.. one!

Think Perlini has easily been our best player.
I know I'm talking about past results but how have we faired against Hungary?

Off to church tomorrow and pray for a Pole win and the other game going into OT before our strole on the ice. Or is that perm anyone from Slovenia and Italy as we have beaten both. So come on Poland please.

I definitely want them to get promoted, it'd be a real boost to have them playing the big boys, however badly we'd get smashed. Said the other day that I imagine there are a few nations in that sort of bubble, up and down between the World Group and 1A, I'd be happy for GB to be one of them. Bit of a goalfest in the first game today, Kaz 3 Slo 4 at the moment with 20 to play. Want promotion also. That's what we play for and you just have to avoid the drop which might prove valiant in it's self but let's get there first.

If that happens then doesn't that help The Elite League get an additional spot in The CHL?
Also, should fans be worried that players like Bowns, O'Connor and Perlini could be the subject of big money offers from teams in Europe?

Hopefully GB's ranking goes up whatever happens tomorrow. Should do... more so with promotion. As far as I am aware, there is no official link between international team rankings and the club competitions. Whether it may slightly influence matters is another question... Yes.

Ben O Connor has already tried his luck in Kazakhstan. Bowns has been on training camps in the states... Perlini will return stateside one day I'm sure but right now Richo should instantly make him our highest paid brit (if he isn't already)

Does the Slovenia v Italy game tomorrow matter to us? We beat both. All we hope is that Poland do us a favour and at least take the Kazakhs to OT.

Incidentally if Kazakhstan win the first game in regulation, then Slovenia and Italy NEED to win in regulation....so what do they do if they are tied late in the 3rd? Do they pull goalies?

Does the Slovenia v Italy game tomorrow matter to us? We beat both. All we hope is that Poland do us a favour and at least take the Kazakhs to OT. It might do as one of them can end up tied with us on 9. If you have say 4 teams on the same number of points you take the games between all of those 4 and make a mini league table, and that's the final order. So just because we beat them, they may have better results against the other teams who end up tied. We might come out of that well, or not (not worked out the permutations). Ideally we'll get any Poland win in game 1 to knock Kazakhstan out. Then game 2 go to overtime to knock both of them out. That'd leave us promoted and then get anything from Hungary to win it. Edit: As I have too much time on my hands... Think it'd be something like this (because Hungary would have to beat us in reg, I've put this as 1-0) - Option 1: KAZ win, ITA win, HUN win = GBR/HUN/ITA/KAZ on 9 points HUN 0-3 KAZ ITA 2-3 HUN KAZ 6-1 GBR ITA 3-0 KAZ ITA 3-4 GBR HUN 1-0 GBR 1st: KAZ, 2nd: HUN, 3rd: GBR, 4th: ITA Option 2: KAZ win, SLO win, HUN win = GBR/HUN/SLO/KAZ on 9 points GBR 3-1 SLO HUN 0-3 KAZ KAZ 6-1 GBR SLO 4-1 HUN KAZ 3-5 SLO HUN 1-0 GBR 1st: SLO, 2nd: KAZ, 3rd: HUN, 4th: GBR Option 3: KAZ don't win, ITA win, HUN win = GBR/HUN/ITA on 9 points ITA 2-3 HUN ITA 3-4 GBR HUN 1-0 GBR 1st: HUN, 2nd: GBR, 3rd: ITA Option 4: KAZ don't win, SLO win, HUN win = GBR/HUN/SLO on 9 points GBR 3-1 SLO SLO 4-1 HUN HUN 1-0 GBR Decided on goal difference: 1st: SLO +3 GD, 2nd: GBR: +1 GD, 3rd: HUN -2 GD > Clearly this one depends entirely on our score with Hungary, if they beat us well enough we'd be 3rd. So to me, an Italy win looks preferable, if either side have to win in reg. Slovenia have done better against the sides we're likely to be tied with. Edit 2: There's an option 5 too KAZ win, ITA and SLO both don't win in reg, HUN win = GBR/HUN/KAZ on 9 points HUN 0-3 KAZ KAZ 6-1 GBR HUN 1-0 GBR 1st: KAZ, 2nd: HUN, 3rd: GBR. So, if KAZ win in game one then we're going to need something from the final game (OTL at worst), a reg defeat and we're not going up. If KAZ don't win, then we want ITA to beat SLO in reg or an OT result either way, which will mean we'll at least be promoted whatever happens in our game. (Or I've got it wrong and none of that will happen )

The possible permutations and possibly playing against the worlds best just does my head in so for now I’ll just say brilliant effort on avoiding relegation.

Remember that GB have already achieved their pre-tournament target - avoiding relegation - and have, in fact, over-achieved. So if we don't get promotion, it will not be a failure in any way at all. We're all scratching our heads out here, trying to work out what the hell has already happened and what could possibly happen on this final game day. So many GB fans (including myself) were contemplating not bothering with game 1 and/or 2 today... but loads of us are going now. The amount of speculating, totting-up of points etc is going through the roof!

What could be the biggest challenge for GB today is the style of play Hungary adapt today. Yet again if we keep our discipline and forecheck like we did yesterday I fancy us

O.K. I am greedy - like any fan I am glad we have achieved the objective of avoiding relegation, and we have achieved more than many expected - but I still want to win this afternoon

Incase anyone is at a loss as what to do today, if you search IIHF on YouTube, you can stream the games before GBs live. There’s. I commentators but it’s the same feed free sports use.
