I do think that conference is much easier, and Braehead should be doing a lot better than they are, but their continued underperformance suggests it's irrelevant.
At some point though someone will win the title from that group based on an easier fixture list.

I'm electing that Nottingham play in the Gardiner conference in swap for anyone. Who's with me?

Clan losing games is actually backing up the suggestion that the conferences are competitive. No it isn't. It's backing up the suggestion that Braehead are pants. The league table backs up the suggestion they are competitive, more importantly it also backs up the suggestion the Gardiner conference is far weaker.

It's funny how there form has dipped ever since they got rid of Bruton, the player who Holt had claimed was a 'cancer' to the team

They were ready to fall apart like a cheap watch and when it happened it really has been quite spectacular. They were punching well above their weight for quite a few games there but playing with just one really good line who could take the game by the scruff of the neck it couldn't last.

Mciver only missed the home game against Edinburgh which they won anyway. Keith is a big loss but they ought to have enough strength in depth to be doing better.

I bet Finner will still be in the job next year tho' unless NB moves him here..... less productive than Corey and still keeps his job.

If Braehead win their conference, they will get the 2nd seed in the Play Offs. If that happens, the team that finishes 7th will probably fancy their chances.

Looks a real chance they're gonna miss out on the conference now too. IF Fife can win the last 2 Conference games I think they'll have it wrapped up.
Maybe not mathermatically but the teams close to them ain't in much form.

I'm sure if you did a poll of the supporters of the Elite League teams for which team you would want to face in the play offs, the 2 Neil Black teams will probably in the top 3

For gits and shiggles I decided to see what our record against that conference was and we're currently 15-3-0! If we magically moved conference we'd be just 3 point behind the clan but with 9 games in hand, or 9 points of Fife with 12 games in hand. And for an interesting stat, us and Edinburgh are the only teams to get more points against the other conference. I didn't realise we had been so bad in the Erhardt and only just above Cov.

It increases the chances of one of their teams making the weekend, like Hull last year when they got that plum tie with, errm, now who was it again... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I wouldn't say it increases it Yotes,it virtually guarantees it. Because No2 seed is a Gardiner team every year and No7 is most probably going to be a Gardiner team too most years,so one of them gets to POFW.
Well at least it would be if Coventry got their act together anyway !!!!!!

Think I'll go drink a can of Choke...err, I mean Coke, yeah that's what I meant Coke.
Last season we really did bottle it despite what some of our fans might think.

Coventry could be the big losers from the conference system, Manchester have an easier job to nick that last spot.

Well the way Gareth Chalmers was talking in his interview after the Fife game then it looks like Finner will have to win the Conference to save his job.
Personally I'd change the coach, you might think that's harsh and our fans saying this team was signed for CHL, not to mention our current injury crisis and off ice issues but there can be no excuses for the way things have gone, only a while ago were we still in the hunt for the League and had games in hand, fast forward to now and it has changed. So yeah if Finner doesn't win then maybe we should get a new coach.

I think that most people were focusing on Braehead winning the League with the easier conference other than a team getting 8th spot with the easier schedule
