Looks like he should probably do ok over here.
Of more concern of "One of the last five additions" doesn't sound like we are going to be signing the full allotment of imports, either that or one of last year's forwards are to re-sign?!

I'm sure GM has all ready thought of that. Poor man will probably think he's the first too.

Looks a good signing but are we going to play one import down? Thought we had 6 forwards to sign.

Mosey as a forward gives 7 dmen and 12 forwards, which is enough for 4 lines (with an alternating Dman).

Looks OK but not amazing, and definitely not the same quality (or cost) as our rivals have been signing. And our rivals are also signing a full quota of imports....
Something is feeling very fishy about this season. As if there were lots of stipulations and restrictions put in place after last season. Let's face it, why would Black spend his money? The fans will turn up come what may.

Even with our resources Corey has to work to a budget. Maybe it's better to have 5 very good imports than 6 good imports for example. With Farmer, Clarke, Myers & Lachowicz I don't think it's too much of an issue personally.
Another option could be that we wait until October to sign the thirteenth import when we could get a high calibre player for less money.

Looks a solid 2nd liner and equal to potential 2nd liners on our rival teams. Im happy going a impott short especially with the brits we have as well. Good start he looks to be more exciting to watch than any forward from last year.

Let's be realistic, we will rarely have a full compliment though and that could be our down fall if we haven't got enough depth. 5 instead of 6 could be the difference between a good or average season.

If you're looking at this from a budget perspective then signing strong Brits at the expense of a full quota of imports makes even less sense. No I have no idea what any of them earn, but I'd be amazed if Clarke, Lacho, Lee or Farmer represent good value for money against the same amount spent on an import - not that I don't think they're all good players.

One major issue with not signing the quota is we will end up leaving it too late IF we do decide to sign someone later. Why I do get the point of us having a strong Brit contingent we are never going to have a fully fit squad just look at the past two seasons.
Take nothing away from the signing of Bombach I think he will do well here.

Also, given that a Visa takes about 4 weeks to sort out, even if you're lucky, how many imports are we going to be starting pre-season with?

With 12 imports & 9 Brits we'll have a bench depth of 21 players. We haven't had that sort of depth since the ISL days, so I personally don't see lack of bench strength being an issue.

From NEP Nottingham Panthers plan to start the season an import short as forward Andy Bohmbach became one of their final five signings. The American was an East Coast League all star and has also played at AHL level, as well as in Germany and most recently in Austria at Dornbirner. Panthers have the option to sign six more imports, but coach Corey Neilson says the quality of his British players is a key reason for him leaving a space free. “I could sign six import forwards and that would mean having a 13th forward but I’m not going to do that,” he told the Post. “I’ve gone that way because I’m so confident in the ability of the Brits. “We have a really deep group on defence. Stevie Lee will be pushed by Paul Swindlehurst who will be pushed by Sam Oakford. “Then you have Clarkey (David Clarke) who will be pushed by Matthew Myers and so on. I don’t think any of the Brits can take it for granted anymore. “We’ve definitely got the best group of Brits in the league. I’d say it’s the best group we’ve had. “We’ve got two GB defencemen and Sam Oakford will be pushing into that bracket. Up front we’ve got Clarke, Lacho (Robert Lachowicz), Myers and Robert Farmer who are GB national guys. “Ollie Betteridge is making his way and we’ve got Dan Green as an important part of the roster.” At 28, Neilson feels his latest capture is in his prime and hungry for success having turned down options to go elsewhere. "Bohmbach is a big guy who skates well and plays centre and left wing, which increases our options,” Neilson told the club. "We've found over the years that guys who are over or around a point per game at the ECHL and DEL2 level are great offensive contributors in the EIHL. "He's in his prime and did have a lot of options to pursue in Sweden, Germany and Austria but chose Nottingham and is excited to help bring championships home for the Panthers." Last season Bohmbach scored 34 points in 54 games. His career high saw him score 72 in 65 in the ECHL for Toledo Walleye. Wonder if any of our main rivals will see going an import short as the future? Hopefully everything will come up smelling of roses but if not, and after last season the Panthers will cop some fire.

Tbh no other team in the league are as deep as us so they would be foolish to go short

im wondering if we are playing short cause we haven't got this key guy Coreys going on about and not signing filler like a fair few of our players have been perceived to be gives up an spare slot for if things don't work out for them in their new place or for us to find a better upgrade
