Also will be interesting to see if Braehead sign their full quota. Our Brits may look good on paper but the real world is a little different. Clarke is an injury worry, is he even likely to start the season? Lachowicz was awful for the majority of the last campaign, a big upturn is needed. Farmer and Myers, no problems. Farmer was a stand out last season, while Myers consistently played to his potential. Steve Lee is fine as long as he too stays injury free but Oakford, Swindlehurst and Betteridge, though decent enough aren't massively experienced at this level. In my eyes only three Brits have no question marks against them going into the new season. Let's hope our last four imports are top notch.

Hasn't anyone thought for a moment that panthers will use the budget to sign 5 better quality imports than squeeze 6 into it and bring a cheap one in just for the sake of it ?

Tbh no other team in the league are as deep as us so they would be foolish to go short Giants started 1 down last season I think Pidge. Possibly Stars, Caps and Fife too?

im wondering if we are playing short cause we haven't got this key guy Coreys going on about and not signing filler like a fair few of our players have been perceived to be gives up an spare slot for if things don't work out for them in their new place or for us to find a better upgrade for all we know corey could have players already signed and waiting for visa or we could have the visa and but waiting to announce because that has happened in the passed even when they say they will announce it ASAP

He looks a good signing on paper.
Not great numbers last year in Austria, but very impressive the previous two seasons.
I seem to take a slightly different attitude to some of you. With your quality of Brits, if I had £100k still to spend on the roster, I'd prefer to sign 5 x £20k players rather than 6 x £16.5k players.
You already have the depth with your Brits, better to finish the squad off with quality players like this guy.

This guy looks to be a solid second liner comparable to most other clubs so lets hope we have our best players left to sign. If this is our first line centre then imho the "quality" we are looking for is not high enough especially as it is announced we are hampering our league chances by starting an import short. It would be nice to think that its about quality over quantity but with the panthers in the past again imho this is just not the case.
As Mark points out above it isnt all rosy as regards our brits and no one expects many points off Lizon so the remaining forward imports better be a damn high quality or we might struggle for goals again this season...

Very good signing.
ECHL Mathieu Roy - 0.76ppg Mike Forney - 0.88ppg Joey Martin - 0.85ppg Andy Bohmbach - 1.07ppg
Austria Mike Forney - 0.60ppg Andy Bohmbach - 0.63ppg
too many people hooked on the AHL/NHL games. this guy is 28, in his prime, and looks like a reliable scorer at this level, especially when compared with some of the standout players from last season. Playing is ECHL is very different to playing in Austria, a completely different style, no doubt he'd be more suited to the North American game we have here. find the right quality line mates to put him with and this guy should easily hit 30 goals next year and hopefully pushing 70-80 points if all goes well.
And to think we relied on Chris "play when i want" Lawrence last year...

I agree 100% but the rest of the signings need to show some serious intent for the coming season because putting too much on our excellent Brit Pack is a little bit naive.

Bohmbach looks a good signing, should do well if his attitude is right. Going an import short though, not impressed with that. I seem to take a slightly different attitude to some of you. I'm sure you would, but maybe a chunk of those record season ticket sales has already been spent on what is quite clearly the strongest Brit pack in the league.
You'll probably have the highest player budget this coming season, but it will still be a budget and Corey will need to get the best out of it and that will mean decisions like......quality or quantity?

Doom

Only Panthers Feel sorry for Bombach in that his signing (and he looks a good one) has been kind of overshadowed by the news that accompanied it!

Why would I (A Panthers fan) care if other teams chose to give us an advantage by deciding to play short?

It's a good job you've gone full Kool-Aid again, if this had happened last year you'd probably have self-immolated on Bolero Square.
