4 game ban for O'Marra. And his 1st game back..? You guessed it... US. Is this the game at the Skydome? Get ready Coventry, I think you're going to have visitors... Corey will reveal the NEW 5 man fore-check on "O'Baby Look Out"!!!

So O'Marra will probably miss less games than the player he injured ... Great. Just what I was thinking. May be the band should last as long as the injured player is out of action, but still a minimum number of games applied.

Weber said last night in post match interview,he's asked the league to look at the hit on Derek lee Which hit was this? Wasn't there so can't comment, quote taken from weber on blaze website "Losing Ryan is disappointing because he is our number one player. He is our top scorer, he plays on the powerplay and penalty kill and he is strong in the face-off. "Although he was not totally innocent, I felt the punishment was excessive. We lost Derek Lee because of a hit to the head he sustained against Nottingham and we sent the video in for the league to look at. Losing those guys hasn't helped us."

I assume the Mosey one, which was deemed legal on the night. if it is reviewed and nothing comes of it, DOPS should still do a video explaining why.

It was a hit by Evan Mosey and, despite the risk of being flamed for this I don't think it was an entirely clean hit.
I said at the time it was a little high and stand by that, I hope it's included in the highlights vid so I can check.

My understanding, is that if there had been any suspension to follow, we would have heard before the Cardiff game.

Would probably depend on when Blaze sent the request in I'd guess, might not have had time before our game on Saturday.

Surely it has to be before the next game because otherwise you could strategically plan when to ban players? Andrew Lord said he'd watched the game footage from our game vs Blaze before we played Cardiff the night after so if he's got time to watch the game surely they can manage to send in footage if they wanted to

Well it could've been they watched it on Saturday and reported it, would that be enough time for DOPS to turn it around and make a judgement with our game in the evening? I dunno.
You obviously couldn't give people forever to report it, but they might just have run out of time, normally it's a match pen anyway so wouldn't be a prob.

That camera angle doesn't show where Mosey connects but from behind it looks a clean hit

Not entirely convinced, looks like he gets slightly too far in front of him for a shoulder-to-shoulder contact. Difficult to tell from the angle though I agree.

Mosey looks a good clean hit from that angle. Fair play to Eggnog for doing what he did though.
The O'Marra hit looks worse from behind the goal than the video shown by DOPS. Filthy. How is that only 4 games?!? Deliberately raises his elbow to nail Lee in the face, while leaving his knee in.
Too much to ask for us to sign a loon for a one off game against Coventry? Even better, there must be some Brit EPL knuckle draggers out there?

I'd go along with that... call it 'borderline', although (trying not to wear black-and-gold tinted glasses) on the right edge of borderline. Nothing borderline about that blatant headhunting from O'Marra. It's an interesting contrast in vision from fans & ref... at the time our group were all scratching our heads about the ref calling it Kneeing, whilst we all swore blind it was a head hit. And yet it was both - we saw only one part, the ref only saw (or at least just called) the other.

Nothing borderline about that blatant headhunting from O'Marra. I'm sure I'm in the minority of one on here, at least amongst those of Panther orientation, but I don't really see that level of intent in what he did. To me, he just gets his position wrong to begin with, too far from Lee's path, and ends up having to reach for the contact. That's his fault of course and he has to take his medicine on the ban for the resulting injury to Steve, but I think his failing was not to abort the hit, rather than any high degree of malice. It's a blink of an eye decision he had to make, and he got it wrong. I'm sure we've all seen guys leave elbows on people, jump into headshots, in various leagues around the world and I don't really see that sort of nastiness in this one, just a poorly executed hit. Just my 2p on it anyway.

Just my 2p on it anyway. I wasn't at the game & only seen the footage but I tend to think like Yotes. The kneeing call looks more like a poor skating position ... but them's the rules. It looks like O'Marra makes a last minute move to be in position for a hit on Lee, but he connects badly rather than with an intent. I'm not condoning & don't like to see any player get a good wallop like that but it does look like a bad decision by O'Marra rather than an intent to take Lee out. Only person who really knows is O'Marra.
