Feel a bit sorry for Onions. Think I would have played him in this one. Same here - if he's not going to play in this one, when is he? Could've had the Aussies in a right pickle on this track - oh dear That's shallot from me

Root goes on HotSpot review, caught behind. Should've used more tape.

Root goes on HotSpot review, caught behind. Should've used more tape. It was blatantly out. I said out instantly watching it on a phone. The on field umpire is useless!

Take out his 180 at Lords and Root has failed as an opener in this series.

Poor effort from us today. A couple of really soft dismissals.
I still think we will win the game though.

Day 4 on the way, England 2nd innings 234-5, lead of 202. Game could still go either way.
Another good knock from Ian Bell yesterday, lovely to watch.

Yeah, big kudos to Bell for making the tough runs. A well overdue 50 from Prior today would go a long way to putting England firmly in the driving seat.

So much for that. Golden for Prior. Horrible form in this series.
In a spot of bother now.

Bresnan flaying them around a bit, very useful runs.

Could've been much worse than that without Bresnan, Swann and Broad. Very defendable (is that a word?) total.
Fair play to Ryan Harris too, 7 for 117, great effort.

120-1 at tea, 179 more needed. Looking good for them.
Need to run through them a bit after tea, put the pressure on for the final day.

Collapsed, 181-6. Relying on Haddin and the tail to get 118 more.
Edit - Haddin out. Basically need Ryan Harris to singlehandedly win them the test match.

England win, that was almost inconceivable at tea, embarrassing for them must be said.

I love Test cricket - a good game is the ultimate sporting drama.
Was going shopping tonight but no question of setting out until play finished - one of those special moments.
Feeling confident after the morning session when Bresnan and Swan posted a stiff target for Australia.
By tea time I thought the Aussies would win - the evening session was one to savour. Don't think I've ever seen Broad bowl so fast with so much control.
Bresnan was the catalyst. I didn't rate him when he first came into the England side but now reckon he's an excellent all round team player and doughty fighter who can attack or defend - today he did both and provided the strangle to Broad's blitzgrieg.
As someone said - "Enter Broad - exit logic"
On song he destroys teams - pace movement and control make him virtually unplayable. Not to mention he can field and bat as well! Whatever your thoughts on decision not to walk at Trent Bridge (effectively he won the game there and the Australians know and respect that). Michael Clarke very gracefully acknowledged his bowling today.
England have under performed at times and this Australian team is better than we'd been led to believe. Really come to like Michael Clarke.
Excellent series so far.

Final test underway at the Oval, Australia win toss and bat.
For them, James Faulkner in for Khawaja. England debuts for Chris Woakes and Simon Kerrigan. Bresnan out injured and Bairstow dropped.
51-1 at the mo, Warner out for 6, caught behind off Jimmy.

What an anti-climax that was.
Only in cricket can you get a full house of paying spectators on the edge of their seats; a nail biting finish to a game that could still see all 4 results; then go off for bad light with the floodlights on.
Bit of a farce really.

Bit of a farce really. The whole series was a bit of an anti climax for me. I think we only played about 6 out of 10 and still won 3-0. Clarke didn't come out of it with much credit in my opinion.
