That would be some signing, but would be amazed if he came to the UK, direct from the AHL, and not just a quick stint either, he has several solid years at that level. Would love to see it happen, but would say the chance is slim to none. .... bit like Jon creed to Belfast ... if they can tempt them, we can

(That's not to say Jon Gleed isn't any good, before any Belfast fans over-react, but it shows a bit of a difference between the two). Actually, now that I look at Fraser's stats a bit more closely, it's his +/- stat that worries me. A -3 last year for Houston, a nice +13 the year before for Bridgeport... but the year before that, a nasty -17 for Bridgeport! Judging by his shots and goals statistics, along with the +/- (and the fact that he previously played as a centre) it looks very much to me like he's an offensive D-man... which as far as I'm concerned means thanks but no thanks. No matter how good he may be offensively, we need a defensive stalwart. (Like I always say, stats don't mean everything, but there are too many of them giving this kind of indication to ignore).

heard a rumour that the new Dman we are looking at is an AHL Dman and if he doesn't get an NHL call up he will be coming to us
bit far fetched i know but, in a long winded milkman's cat's previous owner's daughter's school teacher sort of fashion, its what ive heard from someone inside the club

Well I once again heard McNeil's name mentioned a few days ago, would certainly fit in with the whispers that say were looking at an AHL level guy although I doubt he's that close to an NHL place. If it is indeed him though and he's just waiting to here about a possible NHL contract it would make sense for it to be dragging out that bit longer than our other signings.

Corey's built it up so the last man better be good. Hes not really, all hes said on the subjest is that , he ll be signing a tough stay at home d man who won t be needed on the PP , and earlier he said hes spending more on the d this year . I think its been quite low key on this last guy and he appears to be taking his time finding the right man

That's talking it up, when compared to the D men we usually sign. 'tough' and 'stay home' are big words for Panthers D men. lol

Lee Green from Alaska Aces. ECHL stay at home D man. According to the Aces website, Green is 'mulling retirement', despite only being 29. Would joining the Panthers be tantamount to retirement?

With the greatest respect, why on earth would we want to sign a 37 year old former Centre, who hasn't played since 2002/3, as our last Defenceman? www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=6062Are you getting these names from a 'Random Name Generator' programme?

;D
Not THAT Chris Brooks!
The one I'm on about is a 28 year old, 6'3, 220 pounds and has 24 points from 214 ECHL games with 274 penalty minutes.
He played for Utah Grizzlies and Bakersfield Condors last season and is without a contract for next season thus far.
Do I win a prize if one of my players ends up being correct?

Aah - THAT[/u] Chris Brooks! It would have helped if you had posted a link to his stats. Can't say that I'm that impressed with Brooks from what I read - won't light too many fires IMHO. A prize? A crystal ball and a gypsy headscarf! ;D
