Braehead back up, Mike Will, has tweeted that Fife have signed a gem. Joe Diamond? Lol, awesome name.

I think this guy will be a better player than Lepine. Looks like CN has done a good job of recruiting a team and not a bunch of individuals.

Could it be Jaakko Suomalainen? I for one will miss him at the Clan! I hope not, wouldn't call him a gem

I agree , but he is rumoured to just skate around the blue line and not even enter his own defensive zone then I'm sure he will score loads. The questions are around his work ethic . Sounds like Galbraith.

I really don't get this Panthers are doing things on the cheap line that keeps getting thrown around. With 8 imports signed by Sheffield and Nottingham at this point Sheffield's roster has 68 NHL games and 882 AHL games on it. Nottingham's has 0 NHL and 383 AHL games. You don't get a 2 goal per game head start by having guys with the most experience.

The Flyers one is an online site for a newspaper which is released every Thursday so the site is generally updated on Thursday afternoon with hockey related news.

This guy looks like a very good signing. Reports are mostly positive, the downside being that he doesn't use his considerable size very well. Now it is true that guys who score well in the CHL usually also score pretty well in the EIHL and ftm above has chosen some 'convenient' examples. I am sure that there are a few guys who have done well at CHL and then come to EIHL and not followed the trend as suggested. The most recent one that springs to mind: www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11243Or www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=15300Stats are an indication of how someone has performed in the past but factors such as lines, ice size, settling in, etc can affect how well a guy does over here.

Maybe both Penner and this Ryan Hand are off to Hull? Maybe they plan to "rough up" the other teams in the Northern Conference. Fife typically build for less physical teams, as do Braehead it appears. Edinburgh will be more than likely be filled with Europeans, so that leaves Hull and Dundee.

What's the difference between this and floorball which I used to play? Is it more like indoor street hockey? Yes, its more like indoor street hockey, though games can be played outdoor too, as happened at the first London tournament. Its a little more 'aggressive' than floorball with more contact being allowed (though no outright checking), players use normal ice hockey sticks, helmet use is mandatory for national events and is being introduced for regional leagues and normal ice hockey rules are followed with regards off-sides, 'icing' etc. Gotcha, thanks.

Jade as a coach would be hysterical in my opinion! Timeout's would be scrapped and a 30 second huff would be taken.

@simmsey: RYAN FINNERTY: Steelers coach considers swooping for hidden Italian gem - Ice Hockey - The Star: t.co/gZWia3k8 via @addthis Italian gem in question - Max OberrauchHis stats don't look too bad, i'd be intrigued to know though, for those who can usually work it out with ease, of how his stats would fair over here. His picture on Elite Prospects make him look a bit on the portly side!

I asked Simmsey on Twitter if he was covering the games, he stated he wasn't and he didn't think anybody else was, which is a shame as I enjoyed it last year.

Hmmm... What happens if most of these ‘top Brits’ do actually up sticks and leave for the season? There would be some seriously big holes to fill in the EIHL if they do! Would icing a maximum of 10 imports on game night to cover this shortfall be enough for the arena teams to get their crowds in? Get rid of the import limit, or I'll learn how to skate and get a game. Come on borat, make my dreams come true. Clarkes on a 2 year deal so ISL 2 anyone?

It all kicked of between Jarolin and Zemlak. I think Jarolin had pop or a slash at Zemlak so he went after him. Sladok left the bench to join in. Things got worse when Jarolin decided he would run Zemlak behind the goals, Zemmer fought back and a wee scuffle ensued.
Jarolins card was marked at that point and even more so when he made a rude gesture at the Flyers bench with his stick. At the start of the 3rd, Bakrlik went straight for him from the face-off, plenty of tugging was going on but the linesman were trying to break them up so I guess he decided to "sponsor his shirt"!
Hanson was the ref.

Apparently Baklarik ripped of Jarolin's shirt and chucked it into the crowd lol Video of that on the Flyers Facebook page ;D

Saturday was a meaningless game but Green was taken out and replaced for K-Wall, why not tonight? Away from home?
