Let’s hope they don’t overlook Kevin Moore, the guy loves it here and he wants to stay. I really like KM and hope he stays but I don’t think we can afford to take the risk of hiring someone as head coach who only has two years of being assistant coach as their experience at pro level I see it a bit differently. I think i'd take Moore with a year understanding the EIHL than a coach who's never been here before and needs time to understand it. Almost every coach in the league has either played here or been around some time and really understand it. Coolen being the only exception. It took Fox 5 years as a newblie to win the league. If we can snag soembody who has been here before and gone off to do some coaching then great, otherwise i'd take the new head coach gamble of Moore rather than a new to the league experienced coach like GG. Not dead against it, at this point I think i'd take the Moore risk though.

Boom, what a signing. Delighted he’s back, being honest I never thought he would be. Any team would be delighted to have him, so glad we have. Well done Omar Yep. Credit to Pacha. People quick to bash him when things dont go well. This is, as said already one of the best signings in many years.

Absoloutly awesome start to recruitment. Making re signings like this are how you start to build towards success. Of course it doesn't mean anything regards anybody else returning, but for me it does at least increase the chances a little. Hugo Roy for example. He's likely lookingto go elsewhere. I'm sure he'll look at other offers, but if a Panthers offer is similar to others then knowing Otto is here may just be enough to tip the scale.
Also a positive that an import has re signed considering many thought we'd struggle to see any again.
If I want to add a little pesimism then the only thing that concerns me is that the signing is so early there is a lot of time for him to be poached. 😂

Finding this weekend almost surreal. Hockey being finished last weekend, but not finished. Keep having to remind myself I'm going to POFW next weekend. Been to many a POFW without Panthers, but like almost everybody else(I know there will be some) i've never been home just checking in on play off QFs of other teams.

I still think they tanked on purpose. Part of me is happy to see them get stuffed. Just a shame it's Sheffield. Dreaming of Stars getting one over on Cardiff too. Funnily I just posted a comment about Cardiff on another thread. There were comments about Cardiff not wanting Nottingham because of the possible momentum, Nottingham might have. As in well up for it Had we crept in I think everybody would have been a little concerned. I think sentiment ended when it became about winning. I get it, but throwing games when your own momentum is equally as important in my eyes, is just daft. Perhaps trying to avoid a team so far ahead as Sheffiled is the only exception, maybe!

Bet they are regretting losing to Dundee at home last Sunday now. I still think they tanked on purpose. Part of me is happy to see them get stuffed. Just a shame it's Sheffield. Dreaming of Stars getting one over on Cardiff too.

That's me back in block 7 for another year. Didn't go for the all-in as it's rare I can make all the existing games on the season ticket and the CC group stage is utter bobbins. I'll be closer to renewal deadline date before I can get mine. Should they announce a CC format change before then I may consider the all in. Otherwise i'll stick with the basic.

I think top 4 is a bit too much, realistically I think playoff final and/or top half would be within reach. I hope I’m wrong, but we’ve not been hanging with the ‘big boys’ for sometime. You just need to look at the games v Sheffield (I think it’s 2 years since we won against them) For KM I think it’s the nature of the beast in sport with hiring and firing. If he did get the gaffers job I’d certainly expect the club to have a sizeable and strong back room team with knowledge and experience of the club/league/tactics/scouting to support him and his ‘step up’ into the role and putting a squad together. Top 4 next year absolute base minimum! Hire the right people, let them know if they don't meet expected targets they are out and then FINALLY start competing as an arena team like the Panthers should! This continual rebuild since 2013 is getting very old now. I cannot see how in hell a team as big as the Panthers wouldn't be in the top 4 next season Agreed. Aside something like this season Panthers should always be top 4 minimum.

I hope JP stays but totally understands it if he doesn’t, as I do with anyone of the players or staff that was with us this season. One thing on KM, and this isn’t meant in anyway as a negative towards him but a lot of people say we should tie KM down to a multi year deal. I would just like to know what their reasonings are for that view. As with everyone connected with our club he has handled himself with great dignity and obviously at certain times has spoken extremely well and at times these were the most difficult of times imaginable. However, his job title says assistant coach, if people criticise our finishing position and style of play etc, he has had his part in that. I just find it a bit strange that people are quick to dismiss JP but then think KM should get a multi year deal. Anyway, I hope all our coaching staff, JP, KM & RS return and build on the foundations that were built in such a difficult season I largely agree with this. Would give them all another season in a heartbeat, but as the dust settles on this season it'll all move on very quickly to simply being judged by on ice results again. KM is clearly an awesome human. Somebody we should want around the club. Should next seasons on ice product be poor though we'll soon see lots of people calling for his head. Certainly sign him up for next season. A multi year deal probably meaans little anyway in this league, but if it helps tie him down then give it him in the knowledge both parties will likely have a short notice period built in. What we expect on the ice next season will likely be determained by how much of a rebuild it is. Keep 6 or 7 imports and would be looking to compete at the top next season. Lose almost all and it's another 2 year plan. Regardless top 4 should be a goal.

Good to see JK get something. Somewhat of an "unsung hero" for me. I thought it was fully deserved. Played all season, played wherever needed. Had a couple of scraps, put his body about and came up with some big goals. I know some dont get it, but you need 4th line role players and Jordan fits the bill perfectly.

No signings, no big news, no small news. Just the winners.
Im not one to hunt players out or try be their friends, I dont go to quiz nights or anything like that, but after yesterday I got a ticket for this this morning. A decent event to be honest. A final reminder that this really was a special group. I think for many of the players and staff there really is a bond with each other and the city(and i'm not usually one to buy in to all this best fans guff that all clubs spout to their own fans). So i'm going to buy in with Pantherlee. I think there may be a few that would be interested in staying, but it'll all come down to if they've been well looked after enough on the usual stuff and if the man at the top is prepared to build on what we've got.
Im not sure I can quite remember all awards but I'll do my best and then check Twitter for the rest.
Nottm Building Society Player of Year - Carl Neill. Best Brit - Jordan Kelsall. Team Spirit - Mike Caruso. Goal of season - Otto Neimenen(Henbrant yesterday probably missed the edit). Most entertaining player - Westin Michaud. Fans Player - Otto Neimenen. MVP - Hugo Roy, Otto Neimenen. Players Player - Hugo Roy.

Huge crowd again today and the best atmosphere I’ve ever seen at the NIC. Panthers org need to really build on this now and really put together something special. I really hope that the Panthers can try to keep the best of the core and put out a team next season to really challenge hard. Make this season the starting point for something special for both the organisation and the many thousands who come to stand up and be counted every game. This can’t be just another season. It has to have someone put down a real marker for ALL involved. Yes. Given everything this needs to be a phoenix moment for me. Something has to come out of this or it will be hard for anyone to fully recover: players, fans, staff and organisation. And like you I believe there's something in this group to build on. We were sat 2nd before we lost Adam, having played as many "big teams" as any of the teams in the top half of the table. That was not for nothing. Last year 50pts would have got us 6th. And it's more than we actually scored last year. Despite everything they've had to deal with What we would have achieved with Adam for two years is anyone's guess. But for me we need to come back strong now for everyone's sake 2 seasons ago we finished 4th on 55 points. People can come and debate it all they like, but for me, even since the return this group was better than where they finished. That first few months back, clearly struggling to get going was rough. The ability was there but the head obviously wasn't. I of course think there is a core to keep, some upgrades are also needed to compete at the top, but if you kept that entire team of outskaters and swapped our goalie setup for Manchesters we'd have probably finished 4th.

Gave it their all but sadly not to be. Just agonising when you look at those OTs which could have gone the other way recently,an extra point here or there. Still we didn't finish bottom which is something! I thought there would be no chance of that a few months back. These players will go down in Panthers history for coming back after what happened...I have enjoyed this season more than I have for years...the atmosphere around the place has been incredible...crazy it's now all over. I'm very much trying to stay on the positives. As I sit hear looking at all sorts of posts and tweets etc, look at the league table, I cant help but think back to Monday. 😞

Flames outshot Blaze 45-20. Hit the post with 2ish minutes left which would've made it 4-4. They also pulled their goalie to try get the points. They certainly wern't taking it easy. Sadly Burman had a save % of 80%.

Looks like Coventry 6th, Dundee 7th and Fife 8th. Us and Clan miss out but they get the wooden spoon. If Fife were trying to manipulate 7th that backfired. Cant blame any other team for where we finished over the course of the season, but of this last weekend that Cardiff result yesterday was a sickener.

2 points off 6th, 8 off 5th, 11 off 4th and miss the play offs. Gutting. A great effort at the end. Plenty of games can be pointed at as to where it was lost, but very proud of that group of players. A season like no other.

EIHL site has Oldale starting, Flodell on the bench? Looks like it. Im not sure if I like it or not. Clearly we should be happy with the back up as opposed to the leagues best, but Odale had a shut out last time out and has done us before this season too.

Really hoping Cardiff come back with a reaction to last night and that Fife & Owen are on it again. I have little confidence in the Flames to get a result in Coventry.

It seems the OT trumping penalties scenario is wrong. Here are all the scenarios for Panthers to qualify as published on the EIHL website this morning. Nottingham Panthers must win in regulation, and hope that at least one of Coventry or Dundee lose, plus that Glasgow get no more than one point.
Were the Panthers to finish level on 49 points with Dundee (i.e. Dundee lose, Panthers lose in OT/SO), Dundee would win the tie-break on total wins
Were the Panthers and Stars to finish level on 50 points (i.e. Panthers win, Dundee lose OT/SO), a Panthers regulation win would see them win the tie-break on regulation wins. A Panthers OT/SO win would, however, see the teams tied on five straight tie-break points. It would come down to Point 6 - 'Away Games', whereby Dundee already have one point more and cannot be caught.
The Panthers cannot lose a tie-break with GlasgowThanks for updating. Really not happy I was correct first time around on this one. 😫

Hi, looking to get a season ticket, Does anyone know it’s it’s possible to book “one off” tickets to have friends join on occasion but still sit near you? I’d assume that the season tickets are sold in blocks so it’s not possible but wanted to ask the question You can book your season ticket seat wherever you want, as long as it's not already somebody elses. You will always run the risk of somebody else getting them near you after you've purchased thinking they were free. Your best bet could be to wait out until the last day and then see if you can speak to somebody when chosing your seat to ensure there is an unallocated seat next to it.

Fife and their supporters might like nothing more to try and eliminate the Stars We would. But probably would want Cardiff in quarter final rather than Belfast. Genuinely impressed the Panthers are still in with a shout. I had ruled them out. But! If you lose in regulation and Coventry win then yoy'll finish 8th and get Steelers. I dont think Fife can afford anything other than going for the win with intent.

We could end up with a team finishing bottom on 50 points, only 10 points behind 4th.

If Dundee only got a point, and we won in regulation, then we'd have more regulation wins than them (currently 15 each), so we'd finish above them. In fact if we got an overtime win, and they lose in overtime, we could have to go to the fourth tie-breaker (head to head record). No idea who wins that. It just so happens: But i'm sticking with this. 🤞
