If the rumoured increase to teams happens, do we see more league fixtures or the same but spread across more teams? If it went to 11 itd almost certainly be 60 games. Cant see them going down to 40. Unless they had a huge format change to play offs. 12 teams and I think we'd see conferences return. 12 straight is 44 or 66. 66 feels like a stretch to far. 44 and they lose 5 home gates. 2 conferences of 6 = 30 conference games(6×5) and 24 cross conference games(4×6) = 54 games. Horrible but plausable.

Saturdays 11 Sundays 8 Monday and Tuesday 1 each Wednesday 6 Do any of the midweek games deserve an asterisk as they were bank holidays or over Christmas? Weds 27th Dec was Christmas fixture. Sunday 1st Jan. Easter Monday v Clan. Obviously some games were moved after the AJ incident. That maybe moved a few Saturday games to midweek.

I'd take both of those from Belfast & Cox. Although I guess if they are leaving those clubs they are to better leagues. If Cox is leaving Cardiff I can’t see it being to another EIHL team and if we’re trying to catch up to Giants then I don’t think we should be signing two players their fans are calling busts Printz had 29 points in 34 games at 0.85 points per game. +15 and 55 penalty minutes. He's exactly the player we need. Hugo Roy was 0.89. Tadesco had 47 in 52. Over 2 years in the EIHL he's 1.21 PPG. Both absoloutly improve us. Giants fans just upset they've slipped from a phenominal season and probably have to high an expectation.

From the same twitter account that called Paredes, Neilson and Nieminen:- Stephen Johnson and CJ Garcia re-signing with Storm Cole Sanford and Joey Martin re-signing with Devils Trevor Cox and Sam Duggan leaving Devils Daniel Tedesco and Greg Printz leaving Giants I'd take both of those from Belfast & Cox. Although I guess if they are leaving those clubs they are to better leagues.

Was it the usual dull as dishwater DJ playing the same playlist he has for the last 10+ years? Yes. Darren whatshisface. I'd happily have Ken but it's already seen as unfair that it's in our barn every year. Adding Ken would just add to the narative of bias. For me, I also like the fact it's different. As the only ones who have to keep coming to our own building I like it to feel as different as possible to normal.

Nothing other than a friend mentioned Kevin Moores Instagram said something like. Unemployed and In England. Would be a real shame. Took on a lot of leadership this year when the team was hurting. Yep. Could also just mean Panthers havn't decided yet and his contract has expired making him unemployed like a lot of players and staff are over the summer.

"Rule 41.3 The Referee, at their discretion, may assess a Major Penalty to a Player guilty of “boarding” an opponent, and who recklessly endangers the fouled Player in a way that at the discretion of the Referee such Player would not be sufficiently sanctioned by imposing a Minor Penalty." There's a lot of referee leeway in boarding penalties. Fairly unusual to have a major for boarding without a game. Did they review it, as per the groovy new video available? NEW FOR FINALS WEEKEND: Major Penalties (Game officials must call a Major/2+2 (High Sticking) and then review it. Upon review may uphold the original call, reduce to a "minor, or remove the penalty entirely)" That was a point I made to friends. Very strange to see 5minutes for boarding without the game. Live I thought the 5 was fair. Having seen a replay it appeared very harsh.

Was not impressed with Cardiff, they seemed to be Defensive with no real urgency especially in the 3rd Period. In Overtime, they played not to lose and I know that keeping possession is key but they should have pressed more whereas Belfast went for it whenever they could. I hate 3v3 Overtime in The Play-Offs. On my way home, I did wonder if Cardiff got lucky in the Quarters with Dundee having to ice their back up N/M and whether Coventry or Fife would have done them 3on3 is definitely not for the play offs. I know our format is a joke as it is but imagine going out on that pantomime. All Play off OT should be 5 on 5.

Just me likely putting 2 and 2 together to make 17 here. With the rumours of an extra team coming in, the DJ said something along the lines of.... great support from a geat fan base, an expanding fan base. Now he could've meant attendances being up, but it could've been a hint. I don't think that the DJ would be privy to that kind of information about a new team But it would make for a good announcement tomorrow I think he'd know if it were part of procedings for Sunday. I remember one year they announced a new team by using the flag skaters. What he's been doing so far by naming the teams as they skate on. And then adding... and your 2 new teams for the xxxx season.. We'll see, but most likely he meant nothing by it.

Soon to head out to the games. I've always wanted later games on the Saturday, but it is a bit odd not being out for breakfast at 10am. Absoloutly no way i'm starting at 10 a whole 5 hours before face off.
Like almost everybody I'd love to see Guildford get to the final, but in reality it's likely to be Sheffield. Other one is a bit of a coin toss. I'd usually back Cardiff over Giants, but I think this year i'll be behind the Giants. I just hope somebody can prevent the Grand Slam.

For me it's a good idea, but typically EIHL. So a coach can initiate a review for goalie interference, but should a massive goal go in with a minute to play the coach can't call a review on it and it's not on the list officials can review? They must call the major penalty and then review it. I sort of get that, but then that leads to them calling things they maybe dont see as a penalty live, but if they dont call the maybe they cant review it after. I'm also not sure why 2+2 makes the list? 2+2 only typically called for blood. Chances are if they've seen a high stick on the play and there is blood there is nothing to really review. What's the chances the blood came anogher way? If they dont see it and dont call it they cant review it. So the only reason for a review is if they miss it on the ice, a player says, hey you missed that high stick on me. So they then call the 2+2 by a players call. To then have to review it. I guess hockey opperations cover the interference bit.

Let’s hope they don’t overlook Kevin Moore, the guy loves it here and he wants to stay. I really like KM and hope he stays but I don’t think we can afford to take the risk of hiring someone as head coach who only has two years of being assistant coach as their experience at pro level I see it a bit differently. I think i'd take Moore with a year understanding the EIHL than a coach who's never been here before and needs time to understand it. Almost every coach in the league has either played here or been around some time and really understand it. Coolen being the only exception. It took Fox 5 years as a newblie to win the league. If we can snag soembody who has been here before and gone off to do some coaching then great, otherwise i'd take the new head coach gamble of Moore rather than a new to the league experienced coach like GG. Not dead against it, at this point I think i'd take the Moore risk though.

Boom, what a signing. Delighted he’s back, being honest I never thought he would be. Any team would be delighted to have him, so glad we have. Well done Omar Yep. Credit to Pacha. People quick to bash him when things dont go well. This is, as said already one of the best signings in many years.

Absoloutly awesome start to recruitment. Making re signings like this are how you start to build towards success. Of course it doesn't mean anything regards anybody else returning, but for me it does at least increase the chances a little. Hugo Roy for example. He's likely lookingto go elsewhere. I'm sure he'll look at other offers, but if a Panthers offer is similar to others then knowing Otto is here may just be enough to tip the scale.
Also a positive that an import has re signed considering many thought we'd struggle to see any again.
If I want to add a little pesimism then the only thing that concerns me is that the signing is so early there is a lot of time for him to be poached. 😂

Finding this weekend almost surreal. Hockey being finished last weekend, but not finished. Keep having to remind myself I'm going to POFW next weekend. Been to many a POFW without Panthers, but like almost everybody else(I know there will be some) i've never been home just checking in on play off QFs of other teams.

I still think they tanked on purpose. Part of me is happy to see them get stuffed. Just a shame it's Sheffield. Dreaming of Stars getting one over on Cardiff too. Funnily I just posted a comment about Cardiff on another thread. There were comments about Cardiff not wanting Nottingham because of the possible momentum, Nottingham might have. As in well up for it Had we crept in I think everybody would have been a little concerned. I think sentiment ended when it became about winning. I get it, but throwing games when your own momentum is equally as important in my eyes, is just daft. Perhaps trying to avoid a team so far ahead as Sheffiled is the only exception, maybe!
