Not convinced tbh. If these are top liners we dont stack up well with Steelers and Devils.
This is now a rebuild season for me, i think we're battling for forth.

Iggy for years these Brits have lived a cushy lifestyle in Notts, Doucet says he wants a change of ethos, perhaps he saw the brits coasting here in Notts when he was here as a player and is putting a end to it therefore moving all the long standing brits on! So You're saying they are jumping ship.. more like being moved on! I certainly think we will see a more focused group of players on the ice this year Lacho...

It shouldn't take that long to rebuild. Look at Cardiff. they went from absolute rock bottom to winning the league in three seasons and had a second and third before that and had by far a worst starting point we have now. I like what we have so far. We have bunch of guys that look capable of delivering right away but of good age the POTENTIAL for some of them to stay and make Nottingham a long term home. I don't see why players like Loiseau, Golovkovs, Deutsch, Fick or Herr can't replicate the likes of Martin, Haddad, Morisette, Fournier, Louis if they are successful here. But to challenge for the league this season the last few signings need to be of similar standing to the players Clan and Steelers have just brought in to add that bit of stardust to roster which i think it needs. If the rest are similar to what we have already signed then i can see us being competitive but lacking the firepower to match Devils, Giants and Steelers. These last signings might be pivotal The Devils formula works, but lets not forget that they did get lucky aswell. They totally rebuilt a team in a silly short space of time and it just worked. They didnt sign any duds and it just sort of clicked. From that point on they have retained thier best players. This is something Panthers are cronically bad at. Just go back and see how many seasons we re-signed our top goal scorer.

The question i have for Steelers is whether the buget has been increase by a good chunk from Thomo? If it hasnt it begs the questiom of what on earth he was doing? If not why didnt the managment give him the resources he needed?

Doubt it, no. One is signed & sealed for sure but no announcement yet. Why not if the ink is already dry ? #sillygames So that they get chance to do the social media teases. I have no problem with it if its within a few days. Id be annoying if they held back signings for weeks.

Yeah he looks silly. Bar well and truly set. If Panthers dont have 2/3 pure class forwards left to sign we could be fight for forth with everyone else.

If Whistle was #1, I would be very unhappy. As #2, as long as Carr gets most games, this makes sense... not ecstatic about it (Whistle has never impressed me, be it for Belfast, Sheffield or GB) but avoiding using up an import slot could be very valuable. Ditto

What were Rheault’s stats before and after his injury? I felt at the time early season he was receiving great plaudits Im not sure he was putting up numbers tbh.

Im in the same boat. I have way behind on paper. The defence looks ok. But we look short of goals. Tell you what let’s sign an experienced NHLer like Stewart - should do the trick - errr let’s think about this.... Im sorry what point are you making?

Rheult should be a 20 goal scorer if he stays healthy the whole year. For the 3rd line that's a good thing to have ... The problem is he wasnt signed as a 3rd liner. I feel we are using up one of our top earners on a dud. I hope im wrong but i have a horrible feeling we have one top end forward left to sign. In which case we're in trouble for my money.

I appreciate that TW/GD have got a plan in mind & are recruiting to that style (so they say) but I feel like I’m really missing something with some of these signings. More than happy to be surprised by them but I just don’t see it right now. We look well behind Shef, Card & Belf. As for the “he’s just attended the Wild’s camp” as if it’s a great sign, whilst this is a decent note it doesn’t guarantee success and there’ll be reasons why AHL, ECHL & top European teams have overlooked him. Im in the same boat. I have way behind on paper. The defence looks ok. But we look short of goals.

Hard to read. Similar NCAA points to Perlini and Reault. If he co.es over witb a point to prove he cod be great. If he just wants to see the world a travel less so.
Still not the nerve settler signing we need. Big preasure on the last few to be quality.

Thats a big if. I think he's a pure gamble. Hes had a year out. If hes kept in shape all summer. Devils signed Assalin and he didn't play for a year. Panthers signed Ryan a few years ago off the back of a bad injury and he didn't miss a game. Clan obviously think it's a risk worth taking With Assalin and Ryan though they were big injuries that need surgery if i remember correctly. I thought Roy openly said he couldnt do it anymore because his body was shot and the pain was too much. I dunno maybe im wrong. I just know i wouldnt be pleased if it was us signing him.

Roy would be a excellent 2nd liner for most teams. If hes healthy and his body can withstand the season of cause Thats a big if. I think he's a pure gamble.

The Devils are not "splashing the cash". Riley took an almost identical contract to Belfast. The difference is in Cardiff the travel is far easier than Belfast. Every away game for the Giants is a hassle. He also knows that the Devils treat their players fantastically and if they put in the graft, they will have a career after they retire in one of the owners businesses. The same goes for Bowns. He only had two offers. Danish and DEL2. Sideway steps at best with worse money and the likliehood of sharing starting duties. The Devils did not have to break the bank to keep him. TK runs it as a business. He does not have a bottomless pit of money. The books have to balance. The big difference with the Devils and Arena teams is that the owners are not looking to make money. All the money goes back into the team. If the Panthers management did this, they could blow everybody out of the water. That said, what the Devils do, and is obviously a big pull factor, is they keep injured or under-performing players on the books. That is huge to know for a player. That stability is massive for a player. They are not earning vast sums of money and need that stability. It all stems from good management. Belfast had it with TK and now the Devils have it. Players want for nothing in Cardiff. They have loads of car sponsorships. They have property and great deals on any rentals. Little things like free cinema, free gym, loads of comp restaurants, barbers, dentists etc etc. It all adds up. When it is packaged up, plenty of players are sold and will take "discounts". The fact they can add CHL and a genuine chance of winning Elite Titles is another factor. They have free entry to Cardiff City, Cardiff Blues, Wales Rugby, Glamorgan Wanderers. They usually get free entry to the big events at the Principality and CC Stadium. It is all part of the package. For guys with families, the club has very cleverly got property in catchment areas of some of the best schools in Wales. Again, it may not seem much, but is huge for a player with children. Devils put together a complete package when courting players. Most clubs just phone and offer a salary. The cherry on top, as mentioned before, is the ownership group. If a player is close to signing or needs a final push, they step up and call. Lots of clubs are envious, but they have the means to offer guys careers after hockey retirement. They are open about it. Work hard for the Devils and they will get plenty of opportunities when playing is over. That cannot be underestimated, especially for older guys or guys with little-to-no prospect of a post hockey career. It is why you see so many older guys in Cardiff playing some of their best hockey. They know the potential rewards for doing so. You start by saying Devils arent splashing the cash... then proceed to go on a huge post about how thats what they're doing. Having things paid for in place of salary still means Devils are spending a big chunk of money.

Devils once again retain all thier best imports. This is the difference, we just dont and are constantly rebuilding.
But anyone who says they're not splashing the cash big time is delusional.

Hard to read as hes pretty young. But not a signing that settles the nerves for me. We're fast running out of forward slots for goals.

He looks good, it's a good signing. But not everyone is going to want to name their first born after him based on his stats, like Pidge. The Henderson comparison is a bit of a downer though Henderson was 6 years older so I’m holding onto that positive. I’m just curious as to where people think we should be signing from as much as anything The ECHL, so many good players in this league have come from there. Get guys in the mid 20's knocking around a ppg. Then sprinkle in a few older guys with higher level expirence. Thats the formula that has worked for many teams over the years. Although i would say the goals posts are slightly shifting with the Devils.

PPG is all just numbers. You never know he may be an excellent skater and go to defensive forward and contribute in that way. What situations was he in in Ontario? He'll be playing more minutes here which equals more production. He'll be a very good signing, not groundbreaking numbers, but a guy that should be leaned on. The vast majority of players line up roughly with their previous stats. I have no doubt he will do what he does well, hes 26 and you dont play 4 seasons in the AHL if your rubbish. But he doesnt look like what we need. Where are our goals coming from? If hes a top 6 signing (which it sounds like) we already look short. We have 3 more to sign by my reckoning. Bloody hell they best all be 35 goals plus players. This team isnt shaping up well in my mind. We couldbe in for a long season. Id be much happier with what you guys have signed at this point.

Signing of the summer so far! Of any team !! That's a stud.. not sure why hes chose to come to the U.K at that age but I ll take it. Great work Doucet and Wallace! Nowhere near for me. The numbers just arent there. Perlini has better NCAA number as do tonnes of guys in our league. Kevin Henderson has 50% higher ppg in the AHL. Im sure he'll do a job for us but i doubt he'll turn out to be a stud. I have him at sumit like 0.6 ppg. Not convinced the the recruitment so far at all.
