There seems a complete lack of interest on here about the tournament in Sheffield on Sunday.
£25 for 280 minutes of non-stop hockey seems a fair price to me.
There seems plenty of tickets left, and they only seem to have allocated the lower tier at the moment.
Have the Elite League got this very wrong and the attendance will be very poor?
Are the supporters club (or anyone else) running a bus?

i like the idea, except i cant go.
i think its a great little one dayer, and £25 aint bad for all that hockey.
the only thing that would put me off (if i could go) is the discomfort, but we have a thread about that already.
well done to all involved, lets hope it goes ok.

I'm not sure that with my dodgy back at the mo I could sit in one of those seats for 280 minutes. I had enough trouble on Saturday night even with the large amount of dihydrocodeine I'm on. If I took enough to sit in those seats for that long I'd be a dribbling mess! Have fun though if you're going.

Is there a lack of interest? You guys seem to be up for it anyway. But I wasn't swayed from my 180 stop time minutes for £12.60 to this one though. Reason why I have not shown support for it is varied but I hope you have fun and are satisfied at the end of it all, if not just for the fact that we win it. Think everything that has to be said about it has been written and your all just ready for the big occasion. However, I think that the top tier may have also gone sold more if the entry fee was much less.

Theres a point. What of the smokers etc....if you can go out then the general game nighters will want the same. I see your point.Choice of beer and meal are also thought provoking.

I believe that you will be able to come and go as you please. You can't reasonably expect people to stay in the arena from 10am until 8pm. I think that is why there is an extra 1 hour break between the QF's, SF's and final.
On the subject of taking your own grub in, not a chance in hell, the only way that will happen is if you tell them it's a special dietary requirement. For example: a diabetic. I would recommend booking a table at Arena Square or at one of the places on Centertainment.

The only thing I could suggest is request a disabled seat, but they might have gone, alternatively ask for a seat on the end of a row, then you can get up and move about as you wish.

Buster the guy was complaining of a back problem not a height problem. Hence the suggestion of an end seat so he could move about without disturbing others on the row. Height is not an issue when I go to games, I can put my feet over the seat in front ;D

You can get a return train ticket for a tenner, so it looks like a day on the beer.

20-20 Hockey Fest Rules of Engagement - all you need to know for Sunday's big day
The first ever Elite League 20-20 Hockeyfest tournament takes place this Sunday at the Sheffield Arena - a fantastic festival of four on four hockey with seven games in one day.
Steelers take on the Stingrays in the opening game at 11am with the Blaze taking on the Panthers in the 4th quarter final which starts at 2pm. The two semi finals are at 4pm and 5pm with the grand final at 7pm.
Each game will be played with two 20 minute periods of running clock. The clock will stop for the following reasons only, after a goal is scored, if any medical attention is required on the ice, if the zamboni or ice maitenance have to come on the ice for any reason.
On face offs the 5 second rule will apply, if both teams or one of the teams is not ready for the face off the puck will be dropped by the linesman even if one or both of the players are not ready.
When penalties are given by the referee if any player from the offending team goes to the official to query the penalty for any reason and trying to run the clock down he will be given a two minute minor penalty for delaying the game.
Both teams will be expected to be on the ice for warm up 3 minutes before the start of their game, you will only have three pucks on the ice for the 3 minute warm up and this is to warm the net minders up.
Penalties awarded will be recorded as follows: 2 minute minor will only be a 1 minute served by the player on the clock 2+2 minute will be a 1+1 minute served by the player on the clock. 5+game misconduct, and Match penalties will show on the clock as 3 minute penalties on the clock and the player will miss the next game. A game misconduct will result in the player missing the next game. 2+10 minute misconducts for any offence will be show as a 1+5 on the clock, 10 minute misconduct penalties will be served as 5 minutes by the player.
After the first period has been played both teams will go to their respective benches for 3 minutes then the second period will start.
If the games are level at the end of the two periods each team will nominate one player to take penalty shots until the result is determined.
For this competition there will be no icing rules.
All other Elite League rules will remain unchanged
Tickets are still available from the Sheffield Arena Box Office or you can pay on the door on the day from 10am.

I shan't be going as I'm away golfing at Seacroft for 3 days, but had I not been I'm not sure I would be going anyway. I think the event itself could be quite fun - I can't see it being taken that seriously by the teams - my problem is the venue. I find it uncomfortable for the duration of an ordinary game, so the idea of 8+ hours in there is a complete no no.

I would go, however I have far too much work to do so can't spare the time. I think £25 is a fair price for the day. I reckon it'd be a good day of hockey.
