In all the moaning and groaning here and people saying the whole team was c__p most are overlooking the goaltending. After a bit of a rough start to the year Lindsay has been excellent and continued last night allowing just two goals on 39 shots. I think he should have been MOM and has been probably the most consistent and dependable Panther player.

I was one of those who was worried about Lindsays form to begin with but he has really turned it around. Last night he made 37 saves and some of them were excellent. He was the only bright side to last night's game, how Rees got motm ahead of him is beyond me.... As for the rest of them, they clearly weren't up for it. I could have understood it if it were played on Wednesday but they've had near enough an entire week to recover. This just wasn't good enough. We'll bounce back tonight.

Thought Meyers got MOM.
I did think Rees had a great game though.

Gordon Bennett! Once again the Panthers lose and bedlam strikes The Cage as if the sky just came and smacked us on the back of the head. Get a grip folks! We lost a game, we were/are BOUND to lose games, no one is going to roll through without the odd hiccup here or there. Yes this can probably be attributed to the Continental Cup but hey, no one was complaining about us being in it last weekend were they or in the build up to it when the pride about being the UK rep was practically oozing out of every pore!? I'm disappointed to read of a loss but I'd certainly rather take an L in a game against the Caps than against Belfast, Cardiff, Coventry or them. We're going to lose games this season. Fact. When we do it isn't the end of the world. Fact. Let's suck it up and move on by beating the Phoenix tomorrow. , Hey Andy, my thoughts exactly, whats the matter with everyone, forgot whats it like to loose in the league It was gonna happen sooner or later, we all knew Caps were a different team from last season. Yeah we could of played better but we still had plenty of shots and in my oppinnion there goalie played really well, was really supprised when i found out he wasn`t an import.

Aye, if there's any sign of a Continental Cup hangover there's a good chance the Capitals will turn us over. I rest my case. Last night looked very much like a Continental Cup hangover - physical and mental, and it doesn't auger well for the next few games. If that proves to be the case then a rethink regarding any future participation in the CC may be in order. The Capitals played a good game - very sound, organised defence back stopped in fine style by Murphy (not his best game ever mind, I saw him play better than that in the BNL). The Caps formed a good defencive box and swept the lanes well and showed excellent application and determination. We were slow in thought and action - and speed is one of our main weapons. There was a distinct lack of the slick incisive passing that's needed to unhinge a defence and goaltender playing as well as the Caps did last night. Our powerplay, or rather the lack of one is worrying. Thought Cloutman did OK - not as good as his last game at the NIC, lacked a bit of consistency last night, but one or two calls excepted, he thought he called it well enough - could have called more than he did. As HL said some pages back, we shouldn't read too much into this, our first regulation defeat. But some how, I'm uneasy after last night............ if we don't get back on track quickly........ Sorry to hear about the injury to Scott Ricci - a top man, was looking forward seeing to play again, even in Teal and Orange. Get better soon Scott.
