for those that are criticising individuals for the quality of passing etc i think that is unfair, everyone was as bad as each other tbh. nice to see you've still got the blinkers on pidge, do you actually watch the game or do you just copy and paste the same thing in each game thread? getting beyond boring now. molin was very good, toneys had an absolute shocker, robinson was solid enough he is earning himself an extended stay with us with his performances, one thing i noticed is he is noticably more vocal than parley was when telling players "man on" etc it was great to see so many hits thrown around last night, can our fans understand that when maciver is so much bigger than molin it is always going to be a big hit due to the size difference. overall it was a poor performance but the difference between challenging for the title is winning these sort of games, last season we wouldn't have won the game so i am remaining cautiously optimisitc for the rest of december then we can judge where we really are. errr i do watch the same game, and i don t need to copy and paste things it just so happens Ndur is next to poor every game, me and my mates can see it but theres a large group on here who seem to worship the ice he skates on how many times did he fan on passes and just lose out on speed, however he was overshadowed by a worse performance.... step forward danny meyers

i dont worship the ice he skates on but imo he was our better dman last night, meyers and toneys were poor corey was average, he was not the only one to fan on passes last night nearly ever single member of the team was guilty of it at some point

Ndur's play is okay-ish. He is, however, our hardman and should have made his presence felt in that capacity last night by sticking up for Molin, etc., when they were taking heat or by taking Voth, their key player, out of the game for five minutes when we were under the cosh.

So you think their key players are going to fight Ndur, don't think so.

So you think their key players are going to fight Ndur, don't think so. You don't have to give them the choice.

Our whole defence is suspect in some way or another, Toneys being our only consistent performer. It sounds like he had an off night last night hence what many are describing as a poor effort against the Devils.
We still won even though we apparently played badly, that's what matters.

scrappy win, lets take the 2 points and move on thankyou Did you pay for your ticket last night? If you did, what happened to no going for a while eh? Anyways... slack performance, im just hoping that they were actually saving themselves for tonight and come out with a good win. Robinson, Molin and Tessier were absolutely on fire last night, I'm considering getting parley covered up on my panthers shirt and having robinson over it Robinson - Brilliant game again, really unlucky to let in their first as he made 2 or 3 brilliant stops beforehand. Unlucky with the devils third (i think) which was a absolute screamer Toneys - Absolutely Abysmal. I don't know where he was but it definately wasnt at the NIC Meyers - See Toneys Neilson - Average. When the game was tied, tryed to win it himself Ndur - A bit better defence wise but i saw him throw 2 hits all night, IMO crap enforcer M.Richardson - Solid, about the best defenceman on the ice tonight Clarke - Where was he? Myers - Might as well done his proper job tonight Bruce - Exeptional once again Molin - well, 3+1 and the winning penalty shot and still can't get MOM who chooses MOM tunster? Levers - did what voth did, followed the ref around Cook - couple of decent chances but still not impressed Bergin - Is defence his natural position now? Tessier - Didn't stand out but got the points as he does. +3 and a penalty shot Galbraith - I spose after a few goals in the last few games we couldn;t expect much from him could we? Was disappointed with how he took his penalty shot. Shows he's part of the team now by showing that he was angry for being at fault for one of their goals after a mistake by him.

whats it to you? ... muppet anyway, the one thing Ndur is paid to do,, enforce? if thats the case why were we getting banged from piller to post all night against a short bench , and why is Ndur always the last on the scene when something kicks off and leave it to Levers and tessier to resolve things

Voth wouldnt have fought Ndur because his team was already short benched, no one else would fight Ndur, and he cant intervene in a fight else he be called for 3rd man in.
And with the shocking reffing at the moment, landing huge hits on the devils along the boards, he is only going to get 2 min for roughing, boarding or what ever the ref wants to make up.
IMO Ndur played a smart game, stayed out of trouble, kept his mouth shut! and apart from a few stray passes did ok.

To be honest it was a poor game, neither side stood out, however some credit should go to the Devils for keeping it close despite being down to only 12 skaters. The most important thing is the two points, especially with the Steelers losing.

That was a much closer game than it should have been, to be honest. No disrespect to a hard-battling and very shorthanded Devils team (who had only 12 outskaters to our 18!) but we handed that point to them on a silver platter. Was it 2 or 3 of their goals that were gifted to them by us coughing up the puck and passing right to a Cardiff player?
A couple of comments were made on the website/NEP (I forget which) that some players were carrying minor injuries. Perhaps that could explain a very unusual sub-par performance from the normally rock-solid Toneys, and why Clarkie and Bergin seem to be off their feed a little. The passing overall was very poor, and the effort seemed to go on and off at times. Thankfully, the 'on' switch DID get pushed several times, and we clambered out of the hole we'd dug for ourselves.
Interesting to note that Corey/Adam decided to gee things up a bit and send out the young Brits... with Lacho promptly providing a turbocharged effort that had several people near me yelling at the imports "see, that's how you do it!". Whatever works...
Robostop... good name. some blinding saves, and a very confident performance (what was it - 3 saves on the trot before the fourth shot got put away for one of the Cardiff goals? Impressive...). Great performance in the shootout as well... lovely poke-check vs Voth's first shot, and was horribly unlucky that the 3rd one trickled in. A worthy candidate for MoM... Molin dominated at the other end, but Robinson saved us at our end of the ice.
Molin... what can be said, but absofragginglutely amazing? Skates faster, works harder, shoots better, thinks more... than any other player. If he doesn't clean up at the end of season awards, someone's fiddling things. Even checking some players much bigger than him... he just doesn't stop!
Tessier. Skilled, hard-working... nasty even (doesn't take any crap, but knows how to dish it out if needed). All the talk about him not being a team player looks ridiculous now. I'm extremely happy that my initial concerns have been proven completely wrong. It's nice to be wrong...
Galbraith. Are we now seeing the Galbraith that we were told we were getting? Looks like... The effort wasn't 100%, but the passing and the positioning is excellent. Oh, it's nice to be wrong... ;D
Levers. Can't understand the criticism. Works his nads off, launches check after check (including hip-checks... love 'em!), gets battered to hell and gone... and comes back for more. He's no whiner... if he complains to the ref - well, he's earned the right.
Ndur. Really not sure on the enforcer side of things, but his defensive positioning is excellent. He knows he's not the fastest, and he allows for it. If what has been said about his wages is true (that he's not costing us much) then he's definitely good VFM.
Dean Smith. What a waste of space. Eagle-eyed when it comes to determining who shouldn't be part of a line change when the puck gets iced, but can't even see a player getting checked from behind right in front of him. Listens to his linesmen and is willing to let their better view override his initial call (good) but has a serious decision-making disorder... calls one thing then seems to forget. No wonder he carries a notebook and pencil... someone get him dictation headset or something!
Voth... others may want him (like the Sheffield Steelers, however much they may protest that they hate him) but not me. Just downright nasty, and whiney with it. Our version of Todd Bertuzzi (no, I'm not talking about the Moore incident). Just plain don't like him. If he's providing leadership, then he's leading them down the wrong path.
Hopefully there'll be a better team performance tonight in Coventry... there will need to be! We got enough from them to get 2 points, but it really shouldn't have been that close (as others have said, however - previous seasons' teams would probably have lost it, so it's not all bad).

The only sure thing last night was that Smith was going too call us with two minutes left, and he did, so if that don't tell you something.

Robinson- IMO he was average, untill penaltys where he was very almost un beatableToneys- Worst game he has had for usMeyers- Poor game, poor choices mainlyNdur- not happy with him in the enforcing stakes tonight but happy with his play does the basicsCorey- played like he did in his first season with us tonight, alot of poor decisionsBruce Richardson- same as always, works hard, gives his all, i wanna see him in the play-offs to see if there is a play-off version of himClarke- Poor game, doing his usual, score about 20 goals in 20 games then only about 10 in the remaining 30Molin- 5* - Very Very well played again, should of been the easy choice for MOMCook- Needs to do more as well IMO Galbraith- big improvement, still think he has more to give though, still looks unfitBergin- played like the rest of the team tonight, pretty poor game from himLevers- right place right time for his goal good goal, absolute FAG though, stop moaning to ref at every little hit, i dont back down from a fight by crying, it wasn't me, it wasn't meMark Richardson - alright game, solidTessier - weird one, wasn't at his best but came out with another big points night, 3pts his distribution is horrific, needs to go It gets worse. Ndurs outlet passing was the best on the team last night by a country mile. Im not saying he played well or that I think hes a great player (before i get accused of defending him to the hills again) but once again youve completely shown your lack of knowledge by the bit of a players game youve decided to comment on. Neilson,Toneys and Meyers were all shockingly bad at playing the outlets and only Rumun made consistently tape to tape plays. Not pretty but I said before the game, out of all the games coming up, were bound to go to OT for a couple even if were on form so its not a problem to get that out of the way! I dont think we were saving ourselves for Cov, but might have had an eye on tonights game deep down. Heja has summed everyone up perfectly IMO but Levers sticking up for himself with Maciver took real balls so he went up in my estimation big time. I wish he played like that all the time and stopped complaining to refs. If he played his game and had a bit more arrogance and less "look at me im a victim" he would be a heck of an asset

Surprised nobody's mentioned Bruce upending Voth, and then getting his legs hacked away as a thank you. Were the officials the only three people in the building not to see it, or did I imagine it? Voth obviously does not feel he has to be on best behaviour, following recent, and not so recent events.

If Voth had done that to a Steelers player the witch hunt would be in overdrive by now!
