No Clarke, Myers, or Danny. No fights. Pointless exhibition game.
Anyone bothered?

I had the choice of this, or back to Manc for Man City vs Spurs. Chosen this game as I can see countless premiership matches week in week out. May only be an exhibition game but there are some quality players on show. some decent ones for Geneva too ;-) Seriously though, if you go to EIHL games for fights you must be pretty disappointed 99% of the time as they are mostly wrestle fests!
Good chance to see some quality talent without jetting into europe and on a sunday afternoon when not much else to do.

i debated going to this game, but at only £1 less for entry i'm really not to fussed, would rather save the money for next week, what with 2 home games in 3 days etc. Two competitive hockey games in 3 days is better than watching Geneva. If the ticket prices were less i'd be going....

Certainly agree ticket prices should be lower, 10 and 7 maybe, I dunno, I guess they have set it at that for a reason but even so, it would be worth just breaking even and seeing it as a marketing opportunity.

Im going as it's not like we're ever going to see us play them again anytime soon, i like a change as playing the same teams in the Elite every week gets boring after a while. Should be a chance to see some decent fast paced, skilled hockey.

you do make some good points higgy, and to be honest if i had nothing on this weekend and a spare tenner i'd go. Unfortunately i will be in Nottingham just before the game but with other commitments etc the panthers won't win me over with a non competitive game at almost full price. But i totally agree with what you say about new opposition in a free flowing game of hockey etc.

Well, for anyone not going but who would still like a hockey fix, the GM Telford Tigers are in Sheffield on Sunday playing the Scimitars. Will be a good game, the last 2 encounters this season have been interesting to say the least, and at 1 win each this should be very entertaining.
Tigers have this weeked added Sam Zajek to the line up, not giving us 6d, 3 lines of forwards and a spare man. Tigers are currently sitting in a good place with games in hand, games that if they win they go clear at the top of the EPL by a good margin.
It will be good to see some Panthers shirts mixed in with the Tigers fans, so if anyone wants to see some good old fashioned hockey it will be good to see you at ice sheffield.

No Clarke, Myers, or Danny. Or Mark Richardson... There have been punches thrown in similar challenge games before now... and even if the Swiss players aren't inclined to have a fight, we still could see Ndur or Bergin battering a Geneva player if he gets a bit naughty... Depends on how you look at it... and what you're prepared to take from it. 1). With no league game this weekend, the team would have nothing but training... and we've seen before that going too long without a game can be bad for them. Better to keep in game trim, even if it's not going to get us any points. 2). It's hockey. 3). We're seeing a team we've never seen before... it's something different. Not as in excited, desperate to win or anything like that... but yeah, I'm interested to see what happens. There are likely to be some good skills on show, and if the old pride kicks in there could be plenty of effort and will to win on both sides.

Not going. Can't be arsed. Saving my money for other things. With a core of the team missing - & it being an exhibition game (No team will want to risk injuries, so arguably will not be giving it their all). I can see this being a virtual non contact game, & looking like a pre-game warm up

Geneva team budget 2007/08. 8 Million Swiss Francs - £4.3 Million You think the Nottingham players won't be trying? - They will all want a part of that cash. The supporters might "not be arsed" but you can bet the players will. Welcome to Geneva - Mr Tessier

Dont fall for it!! lol It wouldve been alot more ineteresting if Sheffield or Coventry weren't playing so we could borrow a couple of their players like when we had Maxwell & Dutiame (sp) a couple of years ago.

Good call Matt - An Elite league 'All Stars' v Geneva would have been better. Metal - sorry if my views don't agree with yours

Could be there in a work capacity (supporting people) otherwise collect the programme (collector nerd) and go home as I can finish work about this time too.

then if they roll 4 solid lines (their 4th being better than our 1st)
It could be painful to watch

Especially based on one single, non competitive game! Hopefully they are desperate to take a guy back with them for some reason and Galbraith brings his A game. Otherwise, waste of time IMO. Worth a try, I can see why the game has planned, I just wont be spending my money going to watch it. Id rather spend a fiver on a few beers and stick on an ISL game tape! If Chris brought his brother over and said he was going after Ndur, thatd put a few more on the gate!
