First crack in the armour.Bogey team? We did not turn up here. 5 unanswered goals.Great game yesterday, what happened today.Burnt out after the first half of the game. One of those could have saved £20 games. If Wooley was in goal some folks would have been complaining, but who was our star player? We have to regroup and beat the Steelers if only by the odd goal not conceed in the none passing , give up way we did tonight.

Booger .
Double booger with cheese.
Bad news... not fatal to the title chances, but still not good. I wonder if they were just wiped out after last night? Bloody Hull Thugrays causing more trouble...
So. One win at home, one loss away. Honours pretty much even so far.
Next time...

It doesn't matter who it is, we've dropped 2 points to a title rival. As long as we focus on these 6 games a season, Coventry or this season Belfast will always romp away from us ...

Just got back from the game. Worst performance I've seen since we lost 2-4 at home to Belfast last season. Sheffield started with more passion and continued that way throughout, we were perhaps a little fortunate to lead 3-1 at one point during the second period. One positive is that with Tessier and Corey on the powerplay we look lethal. Sheffield constantly fore checked us and as the game progressed we struggled to pass out of our defensive zone frequently coughing up possesion. For me Ferrera is no D-man and Galbraith (granted I've only seen him twice) looks far short of being an import quality forward. And . . . . how come Parley saves the the good shots and lets in the easy stuff!!! Poor effort. Poor performance. Well done Steelers.

that was the biggest pile of rubbish i have seen for a long time. DP should think about changing his career to a bouncy castle attendant. what is it it say's about the bottom of the panthers web page, more noise more goals what for the opposite team. 100% PER CENT CRAP

It doesn't matter who it is, we've dropped 2 points to a title rival. Well all hail the great all-knowing motivator! Of course we've dropped 2 points. That's done and dusted - nothing any of us can do about it. Time to turn our attention to winning as many of the remaining 84 points as possible, yes? Or we could stick with your attitude of serial moaning, and keep our attention on the past (or up our own collective rectum)... which is a loser's attitude if I ever heard one. I prefer to look forwards, not back. If you don't like that, tough titties.

All I am saying is that "honours" doesn't come into it. You win a title over 54 games and not the 6 against Sheffield. You just know that the next time we play them on a Saturday, we'll win and then lose on the Sunday against another team and everyone will say "oh well, we won the important game"...

We were very poor tonight from the 2nd period onwards.
Didn't really look to take the game to the Squealers at all. We played their game and cmae up lacking.
PS - Lehman and Finnerty are both tossers of the highest order.

They were always going to win tonight. Afterall, us in their barn, it's their cup final, biggest game of their season.
Forget it. Let them gloat. It's not like they've got anything else to shout about.
Let's focus on next weekend.
If you want to win the league you need to win your home games and anything that comes on the road is a bonus. 50% would be nice and this weekend we've played twice away from home and won once. I'll take that thank you very much.

We were poor tonight.
I'm not sure whether we were burnt out from last night, or whether Clarkie not playing was a factor but our passing went to pot in the third period. Even though we gave up a two goal lead and went in 4-3 down at the break, I thought Corey would've given them the rollocking they needed to come out and finish the job. But it just didn't happen.
I'm not saying Parley is a bad goalie. At least, he doesn't seem so to me, but the number of goals we're conceeding is frightening. Six last weekend to Edinburgh, and ten this weekend. And why did Rumun see fit to get himself a misconduct ten minutes before the end of the game?? Madness.
One final point - have to say I was a bit disappointed that so many Panthers fans decided to leave after the fifth and sixth goals went in. I know there's a rush to get out the car park but imo we should stand by the guys whether they are winning or losing, right til the end.

Your right that home games is important but Its also very important to pick up points on the road especially in barns like Blaze, Steelers, Giants!!
We cant afford to lose all our games against these teams we have to take at least a point!!

For me the huge let down is Ndur. The 1st 3 goals were scored when he was on the ice. He skates with no urgency or intensity. He had numerous opportunity to step up & rattle a few cages, but he just let the squealers skate on by. Finnerty is a pain in the bum but at least he puts his all into every game. Just hope Corey sees the problem, & lets Ndur go!

DS: i reckon all our fans would have bitten someones hand off to have only two defeats by now in the season, whether it was the virus kicking in, or just the rub of the green, or murray hanson letting them mug us on the ice! They won this time, as for we need at least a point yes ideally but 2 away games 2 points is not too shabby is it! Shuff are out of the knockout stage for the cup and still behind us in the league, so they can have their 5 minutes of glory they earned it on the ice tonight. So move on look at the table check were we are and were shuff are and look forward to next week and Manchester.

Davis Parley is letting in 2 many goals, most of them should be easy save's, he was having a good game untill, that 1 went throguh his leg's then after that he was poor, why do we never get a goalie that turns up every game
ndur was stupid in getting that 10min with 10 mins left, silly silly boy

I'd agree that he doesn't contribute much, especially when nobody really wants to fight him but I think he does a solid enough job.

Oldman - Take the rose rinted specs off!!
I know what the table says but i'm also bigger enough to have a look at the games that makes our Games Played column!! And oh yeah we are doing a real good job of beating Hull, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Manchester!!
Oh but wait he have won 1 in 3 against Blaze/Steelers and still have the best team in the league to play in gaints!!

I thought you guys really missed Clarke tonight , he's what .. your franchise player ?, along with Tess. Take a player that good out of any line up and you are going to struggle to replace what he brings

I see what you're saying... and the "honours" thing was just a turn of phrase. Personally, I couldn't give a toss exactly where the points come from, as long as we get enough of 'em. Granted, it's more annoying to lose to Sheffield than some of the others, but I would quite happily lose the next 4 games against them if it meant winning the league title. Ah well... lessons to be learned, and now Manchester to face. Not going to be the easiest of matches, I suspect. Not seen them yet myself, but they sound like dark horses. As always... live, learn, move on. Preferably kicking some serious ay arr ess ee along the way!

I heard before the game that Parley & a few of the others were suffering with the flu. As the left the ice most of them looked a bit under the weather.

Ndur cost us with his silly taking of a penalty for the hook on Phillips before he got the 10 on top of it, he is costing us at time this season with the time he spends in the box.
We were very poor, never deserved to be 3-1 up, never looked like scoring 5 on 5 and once Hanson had swallowed his whistle for the third period we had no chance of getting back into it.
Parley was playing well until he gave up a soft goal through the legs to Talbot which tied the game and from that point on there was only going to be one winner.
Galbraith was even more lethargic than usual, in fact of the forwards only Tessier and Molin played well, Bergin looked sluggish, Levers and Myers were largely anonymous, Richardson took over a period in penalties, not a smart thing to do when you are already one light up front.
Corey looked livid leaving the ice at the end of the third. It's disappointing, especially because it's a loss to Sheffield but the way we played tonight we would've struggled to beat anyone.
Maybe it was a bit of flu, maybe it was the culmination of playing alot of hockey on the road, maybe it was just one of those nights but too many more performances like this and the Giants will be disappearing at the top of the standings.
