second best in the world is xavi, makes you understand why alonso and fabregas struggle to get games for spain! The thing with Barca is they pass through a team not around them, they will pass to a guy with three players marking him with the knowledge that he can control and pass it on regardless of the opposition markers! Beautiful football to watch similar to Arsenal but with an end product more often! True last british team to retain the trophy did it at wembley with a dalglish goal, ;D Are you sure about the last British team, oldman??

Breaks the world transfer record that Real set back in 2001 for Zidane. Smashes it. Ronaldo and Kaka to take on the Barca crew. Mouth-watering stuff.
I expect Man U to buy Ribery for up to €50m and Valencia from Wigan for £15m+.

Nah if Ribery goes anywhere in the UK it'll be Man U. If Chelsea splash out big money this summer it'll be on Pato.

I would expect Ribery to stay at Bayern, unless Man U pay well over the odds.

Ronaldo is a vile, dispicable footballer. Real Madrid are a vile, souless, classless organisation. Easily suited to each other.

Ronaldo is a diving, arrogant cheat.
If you know how Madrid came to be the most powerful team in Spain in the 30s then you will know what I mean about being a classless organisation

Personally I'm not to keen on football clubs funded by facists. Clubs who, thanks to their political links, had the president of the rivals murdered. Clubs who break contracts for their own success and greed (I think it was Di Stefano who had signed a deal with Barca, then it became a split deal with madrid, where Barca would have him for 3 years, then madrid, then just madrid. all without Di Stefano knowing) Clubs who proclaim success in the europe as a great achievement, when thanks to their links with facist regime, were the only club from spain whowere allowed to qualify. Who banned fans from speaking their language and waving their flags in the stadiums.
Its personal opinion, of course

...i know the $140 million just spent on Ronaldo and kaka is government funded... How do they come up with the amount of money they're spending? When they add Benzema, that'll be about £180m this summer so far, where does it all come from?

2007-08 Season: Messi - Games played 29 Goals Scored 15 Ronaldo - Games played 37 Goals Scored 34 Messi is a brilliant player and is probably the 2nd best in the world at the moment, behind the outstanding C Ronaldo. And completely OWNED by Gattuso and Meelan. The knock on Ronaldo is that he is yet to do on the biggest of stages. Yes he's had some great games for Man U and PORT but I've also seen him tucked in Ashley Cole's back pocket on more than one occasion. Looked great v Millwall in the Cup Final. Paolo Ferreira shut him down in last year's final and Ferreira isn't even a starter normally for Chelsea. Messi on the other hand has won it all with Barca and is their best player. Considering who else plays for them that says it all. Ronaldo is maybe the 2nd best player in the world but I'd have Messi over any other player. MessidonaIt'll be great in a couple of years time when Ronaldo and Messi line up v each other in El Classico. Ronaldo v Messi on Saturday night. Messi is clearly the better player and is better than Ronaldo has ever been. But I've a feeling Ronaldo may make his mark on Saturday. Biggest game in the world. Biggest two clubs. Best two players.

Poor old Ronaldo.
He's gone from best player in the world to 2nd best player in Spain!!
Messi is undisputed #1 at the moment.

Ronaldo has 18 goals and 5 assists in 21 games for Madrid. Messi might be knocking em in on the big stage this week, but there's still not much between them.
