Texpef - what I don't get is that most on here didn't particularly rate the steelers team - but because they did have some success with the playoff win the old chestnut of wage cap gets brought up and accusations of taking the michael?
As for this year - so they give everyone a 10% pay rise and they are still under the 25% increase? Looks like barring a couple it willl be the same players...the only question mark will be over whether the extra 15% or so left will be enough to cover Tess for the full year... if not I'm sure they will find a way around it ;D

but rab, everyone says that about the steelers every year same as they say about us
its just about putting your rivals down
every time they beat us we said that they were average and it was our fault for being poor and when we beat them 6-1 it was because they were poor rather than us being good
and when we beat them in the CC it was down to them playing a player that they had signed

It isnt a surprise accusations of cheating is brought to mind, lets look at what i see are some facts here rab.. 1. Who seriously believes steelers didnt push the boat out at the start of last season (just as i assume the panthers did no?)...but they did that to such an extent that they could only afford garbage as their last import, (remember blue anyone? ) so they signed bottom of the barrel in cornish, a skater that had trouble going backwards a few short seasons ago...
2. They progress through the season hardly setting the league alight (falling short of cov by a mile, as do the panthers even after releasing their top import without replacing him) with teams like newcastle and devils setting the standard before their serious injuries hit. Noticing this they then release this cheap import and bring in what in all honesty is one of the best players in the league.... mmm comparison there then and not breaking any perceived wage limit at all eh!!..
3. This import change then correlates to an improvement in league results and position, making the challenge cup final and good form running through the playoffs...
Now tell me even with the expense of the other players on your team, how does bringing in at that time what in all honesty is one of the most expensive players in our league and releasing your cheapest import NOT taking the michael?...
