1. Derek Laxdalls hat trick in a 3-1 home win over Steelers in the B&H semi final (1995?) 2. Autumn Cup Final win over Humberside Hawks in 1992 at the Sheffield Arena with the great Dan Dorion scoring one of the goals. 3. Greg Hadden scoring 5 goals in a 6-5 home win over Bracknell (Mark Kolesar's season). 4. Darren 'Doc' Durdle scoring that amazing go ahead goal on a 5 on 3 powerplay in the 1989 Wembley final against Whitley. As the puck hit the net every one of the Warriors players was sprawled on the ice as they threw themselves in the way of the expected slapshot. Each time the great man feigned to shoot & calmly weaved his way through all 3 opponents & the goalie before calmly roofing the puck. (BTW anyone else see the resemblance between the styles of Durdle & Corey Neilson?) 5. It has to be the bench clearance game. In amongst all the mayhem we saw that class act PC Drouin showcase his talents to claim a hat trick including 2 of his trademark blasts from point on the PP Bonus! Just seeing 3 genuine NHL's on the ice together wearing the famous black & gold

1. consecutive brawls in home games vs murrayfield and ayr 1984/5? 2. 7-6 autumn cup win over durham 1986/7? 3. 6-5 win over ayr in play-off semi at MEN 4. 31-2 win over southampton, with the improvised scoreboard! 5. last game of the old-time era, lost play-off final at home to brighton 1959-60, no one knew it would be 20 years till the next game.

People here mentioned whether it would be possible to collect all the stories together. A good idea would be to visit www.bbc.co.uk/rawRaW is an initiative to encourage reading and writing amongst adults, they came down to Forest for a day and also produced a lovely little book for Brentford FC entitled "Brentford Til I Die". Maybe they can help you put something together, if anyone wants to pursue that it would be a great little piece to have to mark the 60 years.

Semi-final against Ayr in Manchester. Sat next to the Ayr fans and being baited for most of the match, Ayr's demise was poetic justice.
Challenge Cup second leg victory in Sheffield, so sweet, especially seeing the sheer disbelief on Steelers fans faces.
Third game against Amiens in the Continental Cup, a hard fought win and an electric atmosphere.
Panthers last game against Racers at Lee Valley, one or two people on here will know why.
Last game in LPS, for obvious reasons.

That bench clearance against Sheffield. Losing 3-1 Vial cross checks Greg Hadden, Barry Nieckar pummels Vial twice, chaos ensues. When the dust settles Panthers come back out and win the game 6-4.

In no particular order:
Beating Steelers in the semi-final of the B&H in 1996. The joy, emotion & relief as Laxdal's empty netter crawled over the line for the victory. A moment where time stood still.
The sheer madness & mayhem of the bench clearence in 2001, but especially Bazza beating seven bells out of Vial, then dragging him over to the Steelers fans to beat him up some more ;D
Kim Ahlroos. 60.53. Monkey off our backs!
The B&H cup final win against Cardiff in 1994. A great performance from Blaisdell.
The team in the final year at LPS. Not the most talented but sweated blood for the cause every time they pulled on the shirt.

Mine...
1) ROBERT NORDMARK SCORESSSSSSSS... Horrible season that one and total underachievment but I wouldn't swap that moment for anything, the fairytale end to a season to avoid being the only team playing golf during the Play Offs...the Steelers would never have let us live it down. To this day when I close my eyes and think about that moment I see Jono#72 doing star jumps before almost crushing my spine!
2) Randall Weber's hat trick in the B&H at the MEN, a 5-on-5, a PP and a SH for the full set to get the better of a VERY good Manchester side and a level of utter delirium amongst the fans (which was basically me, Keefe and spik!) to almost rival that Newcastle night!
3) THAT second leg of the B&H semi against the Storm, 11 skaters, Simon Hunt's broken finger, the unbeatable Robber, one Mark Kolesar and an LPS atmosphere for the ages.
4) The last night of LPS, bad to lose the game and the cathedral of hockey in one night but what a night that no one who was there will ever forget.
5) 60.53. Kim Ahlroos. One Challenge Cup. Goodnight Sheffield.

Oh, racking the memory here.... In order:- 1). 11th December 1999 - Nottingham Panthers host the Manchester Storm at the old rink. One hell of a battling game... every time they scored, we equalised, until it got to 3-3... then they zoomed ahead to lead us 3-6. The Panthers fight back.... 4-6, 5-6 (both Calle Carlsson on the PP)... Steve Roberts equalises and the crowd goes nuts... the noise is almost painful. We're winding up Mark Bernard in the Storm goal, and he completely loses it. Ash Tait puts us ahead 7-6, and I start to fear for the integrity of both the roof and my eardrums. Storm pull Bernard (and he REALLY loses it! ;D) and score a 7th... but it gets washed out for offside. No instrument can measure the decibels we put out at that... and the win. I went home soaking with sweat and literally speechless. The best game EVER. 2). 4.4 seconds... ROBERT NORDMARK SCORES!!! Greg Hadden's face-off, the lot... absolutely beautiful. Who cares if it meant nothing in the end... the feeling of the moment was just exquisite. We went absolutely nuts, jumping up and down, hanging off the plexi, hugging total strangers... mad! ;D And a bunch of us kneeling doing the "we're not worthy!" to Robert Nordmark outside, by the coach. Classic stuff.... 3). Supporting the Panthers out in Amiens, watching them battle teams with bigger budgets, longer benches, higher rankings... being told we've got no chance - and confounding everyone by damn near taking the tournament. Hearing the Amiens fans' brass band and drums get quieter and quieter as we get louder and louder.... Cruickshank's awesome save, Kalmikov's unstoppable one-on-ones.... going out and getting hammered at the Australian Bar! 4). That Play-Offs final at the NIC vs Coventry. OK, so we lost... but we took that season's Grand Slam winners to overtime, with a beat-up team... icing several young Brits.. the TEAM doing the job. The atmosphere was amazing, the feeling was great, It didn't feel like a loss. 5). The first home game of this season... getting that old, familiar sinking feeling at seeing us going down 1-3... and then realising that this wasn't old and familiar after all. No heads going down, no indiscipline, no giving up.... the team going back into action and just sending wave after wave of attacks. And David Clarke back up to his full potential - skating, scoring and leading the team. Realising that this could well be a whole new chapter.

1. Ahlroos overtime winner vs Shuff. Couldn't be happier. 2. Maxwell scoring as soon as he came on the ice in the black & gold. He got the puck, the crowd booed, he shoots, he scores, everyone cheers! 3. Being 3-1 down within seconds on the second period... coming back to win 9-4. 4. Bernie in net for Basingstoke - funniest guy on the ice (although Corey may give him a run for his money). 5. Probably the night Cardiff came to town and the PA started belting out "Dude looks like a lady". Funny stuff Honorable mention though has to be for the game against Manchester just gone... When folks started singing Papa's got a brand new pig bag (I think that's the song) but swaping "Curtis Cruickshank" for "Evan Lindsey"

In no particular order:-
1. The 2nd leg of the B&H Cup semi final against Manchester Storm, the sheer determination and atmoshphere throughout the game was fantastic, still watch the game now and has the same feeling of when we beat the Storm!!
2. That Ayr 2-1 OT win at MEN, the game that went on and on and on and on.
3. The B&H Final when we beat Ayr 2-1 at the tin shed, god what a game and what a night. We were on sky as we were walking up the steps to the arena and me and Suzy Q were taking head ache pills half way through the game as we'd drank that much, having soaked up the atmosphere in the pub before the game started!!!
4. The Play-off final 04/05, seemed so near but yet again so far!!
5. Totally irrelevant and will probably never get mentioned by anyone else, watching Suzy Q chasing Trevor Robins up the road from the Royal Concert Hall after a meet the players night, it was hilarious as she ran all the way up the road shouting "trevor", "trevor", "trevor" and when she got there she managed to catch up with him she was that out of breath she then made him wait (he was laughing by this time too) until she'd got her breath back to talk to him!!!

In no particular order as I am terrible with dates 1. the first time we won in Streatham 2. 5 all game with fife when they had 3 Czech players who combined for in my opinion the best goal I have ever seen three passes from there own end zone to back of our net. 3. TV game against Cardiff my son grant one of the mascots sits next to me while I goal judge, the plexi breaks we get covered in glass but fortunately no one is hurt. Spent the break between periods washing glass out of his helmet so he could come out with the team. 4. Scotland weekend if Kirkcaldy 1984 lose against fife on Saturday night win in Murray field on Sunday, the reason it’s memorable to me is I asked my wife to marry me on the Saturday night in the station hotel. 5. the first game I goal judged 25 years ago cant remember who we played but do remember spending lots of time in the toilet before the game

I don't go back far enough to have witnessed many of the great moments of Panthers history but I'd say the following are worthy of consideration: The "endless" semi-final win in Manchester that just went on and on... I didn't see it but it lives long in the memories of those who did! Selmar Odelein putting Mike Rowe in his place. I'm not one for fighting in the game but would loved to have seen that "contest" Robert Nordmark's last gasp goal in Newcastle - it had been a poor season but there had always been plenty of effort from the players - Bob's goal really was the icing on the cake! The bench clearance against the Steelers at the NIC. Not really the image hockey might want to show the world.... but it was a memorable night and quite a good hockey match as well. ;D Randall Webers's hatrick in Manchester - a well deserved reward for one of Panther's greatest servants. The final game at LPS..... no need to say more about that one The CC win in Sheffield would be in with a shout as well I guess... Don't seem to have come with any new suggestions amongst those - I'd better go and see if I can think of any dredge up any other gems. Errrm, how about Stef's choice of music when interviewed by the BBC for Ginger on the Job - does that count as a Panthers Moment? ;D

OK, here goes
1. The Wembley Play-off win, joy and jubilation, (still the clubs biggest achievement, so far)
2. Bob the ‘Builders’ 4.4seconds, nervous tension then estatic joy
3. Selmar v Mike Rowe, game won, centre ice, excitement
4. The last night at LPS, memories and uncertainty
and maybe not a fond memory but it will always stick in my mind
5. The first game after the death of Gary Rippingale, the silence of the ‘barn’ and then the noise as the players sticks hitting the ice one by one, sadness

In chronological order, seeing as I can't put them in order of preference:
1 - Beating Stretham away 6-4 to secure our first post-season since reforming (1985/86 season). Jamie Crapper scoring 5, Robin Andrew (ex Stretham) scoring the last on an empty net with about 30 seconds left. Peter Quiney reducing his stick to match sticks shortly after. The place was absolutely rammed. If the capacity was 1500, there must have been 2000 in there. Even the concourses and stairs were crammed. But it made for an incredible atmosphere.
2 - Winning the Autumn Cup against Fife at the NEC (1986/87). At the first home game after the win, as the players were introduced and skated from the goal line to the blue line as they did in those days, Layton Eratt (O/T goal scorer) received thunderous applause, the sort usually spared for the Canadians on the team. When asked in an interview after the game what he felt like, he apparently said "I felt like an import". Tremendous.
3 - Winning Wembley in 1989, nothing more than a great bunch of players deserved.
4 - Beating Sheffield 3-1 in the semi-final of the B and H Cup in the 1996/97 season. I can remember sitting in block 5 (behind the goal) and seeing Derek Laxdal dive for the puck in the last minute and not seeing the puck again through the mist until, several seconds later, it rolled into the net causing the netting to gently ripple. One of the best atmospheres ever in the old place.
5 - Beating Manchester 3-1 to secure a 5-4 aggregate win in the semi final of the B and H Cup in the 1998/99 season. We had about 11 skaters while Manchester had 19 imports and Jonathan Weaver (and, if the rumours are to be believed, a 7 figure wage bill). Unbelievable performance matched by an unbelievable atmosphere again with almost everyone standing up and appluading the end of every shift throughout the third period.
Sorry if I've gone on a bit. Just missing out on a place in the top five for me were a couple of games against Fife in the 1988/89 season when Fife had three Czech imports. I think one was drawn and we won the other. Both games produced hockey which I don't think anyone there had witnessed before.
Finally, one which someone else might nominate and which I wished I had witnessed was TK's return with Romford the season after he'd left Panthers (1993/94). Apparently, he got a 10 minute standing ovation which he richly deserved.

No particular order.
1) 10 - 2 Victory over Murrayfield Racers. Abandoned after a bench clearing brawl!
2) 5 - 4 Autumn cup win over Fife Flyers at Birmingham. Leyton Eratt bagging the overtime winner
3) Jimmy Keyes beating Durham wasps almost single handedly. Panthers won the game 6 - 3 and Keyes scored 5 of them. He may also have been credited with an assist on the other goal but don't quote me.
4) The first game in the new barn which we beat London Knights 2 - 1. Nieckar score the first goal in the new arena IIRC.
5) Greg Hadden breaking the ISL scoring record against Belfast. Hads got his place in the spotlight and deservedly so.

Apparently, he got a 10 minute standing ovation which he richly deserved. I hope someone does nominate it - or something else involving Terry. To my regret I never saw TK play but his name always loomed large in the reports of games when I only read about Panthers. For years TK was synonymous with Panthers so surely he must figure somewhere in the top 20 moments.

1/ 11/12/99 beating Storm 7:6 (when we were 3:6 down & Carps was thrown out I said we'd win 7:6 but everyone laughed at me, LPS went crazy when the 7th went in). 2/ 4.4 seconds in Newcastle 3/ second leg of B & H semi over Storm at LPS - the place rocked! 4/ The bench clearance against Steelers and then winning the match. 5/ 60.53 the Challenge Cup win at last!

I've thought of another one. Jamie Crapper scoring a 3 on 5 shorthanded goal. He broke up the opposition's powerplay on the blue line, skated down the ice and scored on his forehand side. Can't remember who it was against but it was probably in the 1985/86 season and we just weren't supposed to do things like that in those days which is why it's so memorable for me.
It was the first such goal I'd seen the Panthers score and can only think of it happening on one other occasion which was PC Druoin a few years ago (against London and Trevor Robins if I remember correctly).

Forgive me for I can't remember the opposition or the player involved, but I know it happened....
Nikes sat out a penalty and as it ended he stepped back onto the ice minus gloves, lamped someone, then went back into the box before the door closed, without even waiting for the call.
Gill, my girlfriend seems to think it was London Knights, she may be right but I'm not 100%

Really good to read some of the stuff on here, and have held off deliberately, here are some of my (personal) moments in no order - 1. The B&H win against Ayr, I have the filled in program and tickets framed on my office wall with a montage of players. It was also special as we had some US friends staying with us they went to the game and all of a sudden they were the groups mascots, every game since they have been to, 5 or 6 over the past 10 years, Panthers always won. 2. Pekka Virta throwing his glove down on the ice in front of the 'on load' brigade from Shuff letting them know he owned the place that day. 3. The 3 rd OT period win on Sky, to say I watched it isn't true, it was like 1966 revisited my dad said - he couldn't watch the world cup final, and I couldn't watch the guys after Bish had got them back in the game. 4. The 19-6 demolition of Murrayfield, in particular Hunties double hatrick, which has guaranteed Moray Hansons perpetual ire towards us. 5. The last game we saw in January 2000 before moving to our new life abroad, I think it might have been against Cardiff (we soon came back:-)) my wife presented the MOM awards and I got outrageously drunk in the directors bar, having gatecrashed the sponsors party via a mate :-). They bought her a shirt and got all the guys to sign it, she was really made up. 6. My then 3 year old son offering to give a Lightning fan in Tampa a good seeing to outside the Ice Palace (he was about 7 feet tall, covered in hair and tattoos but Jamie was OK 'cos he was on my shoulders!!!) The guy teased him about his loyalty as he was wearing his Panthers shirt with pride at his first NHL home game, and Jamie left him in no doubt he was Panthers through and through, and there was no way he was abandoning his team wherever he was despite what the guy might say. :-) He still has the shirt ( one of about 8 now) and its special to us both, the guy was really just having fun with Jamie but being 3 it was deadly serious to him ;D 7. Flying back to pick our seats out in the new arena to find our friends who we had sat next to for years had got our seat backs from the old barn for us and brought them with them so I was able to mount them on my office wall as a reminder of all the great times we had there. 8. Getting the game puck from the photographers at the end of the game when Blaiser scored his hattrick in the 94 cup final at Sheffield, we were on the front row behind the bench and they had been in our way for most of the game. Still have it and it has a cut in it where it hit Shannon Hope's skate after a blast from the point. 9. Hunty and Les Millies teeth in the centre of the ice, and seeing Simon later in the corridor having been for a quick visit and talking to him about it. 10. The one and only mega check Adolfsson made, in fact, on reflection, it was the only thing he ever did :-) You could hear the bones rearranging themselves clear across the rink over hubbub of the game noise, worthy of a Stevens or a Carpenter that one :-)

Only following the team for 3 years gives me limited options, but here go's
It was the first home game after the Challenge Cup final win in Sheffield and only my second ever game. We beat the Devils 3-0. The atmosphere after the game was awesome as the players paraded the Throphy around
Amiens - Need i say anymore
04/05 Play-offs. We were written off from the start, all the injuries. Everything about the team spirit through the play-off, the togetherness and Boyntons tash!
04/05 Play-off again, watch paws run around beating up my blow up donkey at the stage end. Then when i got him back he'd been bandaged up by Rick Strang. Then Having him taken off me as the steelers had all complained the i'd made rude gestures with him during the horseman's tune
The first home game this season, going 3-1 down and then bringing it back. Clarke's hatrick showing that he's back to his best
