Small and fast would make sense as he'd have the protection he needed and would be perfect to catch the opposition on the break, especially after a turnover from a good hit. From what i can gather Rod would fit that bill perfectly! But i agree a small, fast, high scoring forward would be just perfect ;D

yeah, I agree , our teams have been full of "Footbal players", ie they have been "too big to be a team player" type attitudes... look at Ivan as a prime example Craighead another... even Tessier.I like the look of this signing!Look at Newcastle last year, all big and physical players that can play as well as hit! They ran rings round us. Tessier wont even get near the goal half the time. He even said the reason he left was because of physical hitting player.... Let the entertainment begin! Thats why I like the look of this team so far, no super stars ( or at least they think they are). Years gone by weve always had someone who thinks the're the team as you say Ivan, Craighead etc. Ells it seems has gone for attitude as much as skill and I like that.

As Heja says big hits are encouraged not penalised. Clutch and grab and just general "not being in control of your stick" is what is being clamped down on not the physical side of the game. This guy isnt clutch and grab, he skates hard and finishes his hits

I LOVE that hit. Escpecially since its from a face off so its not like he's had a 30 yard run up!!
PLEASE PLEASE let Payette be on the end of one of those this season!! I think i would cry from happiness! haha

DB has him dow as a LW so where will he play. Sorry to bring up a old thread, too much time on my hands right now But as the in the quote Not a bad prediction hey ;D ;D And honestly how many thought stevie would turn out like this ??
