Hard to tell very much from those stats really... My initial reaction is that he looks okay but I hope he isn't our final forward - I think we still lack a bit of firepower.

His previous club and Shmyr's previous club hate each other! Extract from a game: "The biggest play of the first period came with 6:54 left in the frame. The Killer Bees were in Laredo's zone. Three year Buck Steve Simoes laid a monster hit on Rio's Clay Plume. The hit shattered a pane of glass and play was stopped and the game went to intermission while the ice crew cleaned up the mess and replaced the glass. Simoes' physical play continued throughout the game and he fought with Rio's Aaron Phillips eight minutes into the second." I think he'll be a beefed up version of cote type player.

Looks like an OK player from his stats but i think once again Ellis has learned from last years poor show and realized a team needs to be able to stick up for themselves, this guy certainly looks like he can Overall happy with the signing as long as a VERY high point scorer is next on ME list ;D

Looks a competant signing, and it certainly appears that he's no stranger to the penalty box! Blurb from PanthersTwo players left to sign!

reasonably happy with this one, seems th can handle imself with emphasis on playing first, could end up to be one of THE effective players come end of season. DB has him dow as a LW so where will he play. Sorry to bring up a old thread, too much time on my hands right now But as the in the quote Not a bad prediction hey ;D ;D And honestly how many thought stevie would turn out like this ??

Well, no-one's going to be accusing us of breaking the wage-cap unless the last two are absolutely crash-hot.

Seems to be a bigger version of Brad Patterson. Similar numbers coming out of the CHL and isn’t “He is always ready to do the dirty work” and “He never gives up” what Brad was all about? Every team needs players like this and if he turns out to be a bigger, tougher Brad Patterson, then we’ve got ourselves a good un.

I beleieve Steve is a direct replacement for Brandin, like whats been said a bigger version of both him and Patty, if thats the case we ll just be fine.
He ll protect Clarke and Blaz on the 2nd line , if thats what it is.

looks a briiliant signing, just what i wanted personally, a player who can back up Shmyr along with Neillson (also means we'l probably have toughness on all lines) plays the physical game and can give the team a good foundation of points if he gets around the 30 mark.
im more excited about this season than the 5 previous ones ive witnesse!! by a long way.
last foreward signing i think will be a top foreward, weve got toughness now and size so a Jinman type could quite easily fit in. also a d-man like Hussey would be great, big stay at home but also has that killer pass. we dont have an unbelievable amount of firepower at the minute but i think Ellis is saying to Clarke and Myers that they have a big part to play and with the size we have they along with Stevens and our next foreward have plenty of protection.
cant wait!!

A Portuguese Canadian. I think that's a first in this sport.
Anyway, from the scouting report that pidge found, he looks as though he's going to be someone that'll be all out to win. Let's just hope that him and Shmyr can put their previous seasons 'feud' behind them
