Ok cheers!
I got the commentary ok then, and your right it was seriously lively!
The hit sounded like a cracker, hope he can throw some of them this season (preferably at a little man named Tess!)

The Panthers don't do league titles. Not even Carlsberg can manage that!

Looks a competant signing, and it certainly appears that he's no stranger to the penalty box! Blurb from PanthersTwo players left to sign! Alot depends on the final signing [sniper] then?

Im very confident our last forward will be the `best` of the lot, even though we don t need any big egos on this team.
Expect a ricci type d man too

I must admit I can really see how the teams shaping up, everyone really sticking up for each other and working 110%. Id rather see that than so called stars pottering around and getting pushed around and everyone going home frustrated every week
In Stevens,Petricko,Clarke, Emersic,Neilson etc weve got guys who can get the points, Simoes isnt an enforcer but can really hit and will fight when needed so everyone knows their roles!

yeah, I agree , our teams have been full of "Footbal players", ie they have been "too big to be a team player" type attitudes... look at Ivan as a prime example Craighead another... even Tessier.I like the look of this signing!Look at Newcastle last year, all big and physical players that can play as well as hit! They ran rings round us. Tessier wont even get near the goal half the time. He even said the reason he left was because of physical hitting player.... Let the entertainment begin!

He looks as if he could play a similar game to Donkey Payette - cause problems for everyone.
I hope our final forward is a play-making centre. If he is, we have the right wingers to complement on all 3 lines.

Looks a good signing to be, yeah nothing amazingly special but a team player
I can't help thinking that ME is also trying to build a team for the next 2 or three years as well as most of the players seem to stay at there clubs for a few years and seem loyal to them

Another damned left winger - Seriously though, Simoes doesn't disturb the scorers that often does he? We certainly need a quality centre to provide the bullets for all these go to the net types. My one concern is that Ellis seems to have signed a team with a good few bruisers, certainly no problem in the right league. But if the refs are going to call a tight game, as has been reported over the summer, I think we may find ourselves in the penalty box a bit to often for our own good. Horses and stable doors come to mind. Historically (unless it's just my jaundiced imagination) that always seems to happen to Panthers. Sign a team of brutes and we're always in the box, curtesy of fussy refereeing. Sign a team of ice dancers and we get knocked all over the place, with the refs inexpilcably reticent to raise their arm.

To me he looks like just the kind of player we need.............and BOY can he hit hard!! lol
If we see hits like that the season ticket money will be money well spent for entertainment value...............
Now...........lets get prooven scorer for the first line..................and a stay at home D-Man.

I have really commented on here for a while but I have to say I'm looking forward to the new season and it looks like there are plenty of positives so far. I'm looking forward to skilled guys playing as a team and it would be good to see some skillful legal hits. However, I only have one worry and that is the refs, were a big hitting, intimidating and tough looking team, so I'm naturally wary of the potential for our guys to be taking regular penalties for things that may be legal (or not). (Although at times I do worry too much , so it could be nothing!)

Got to say the above thoughts ran through my head minutes before I read PeteW's post. I just hope Mike Ellis knows what he's doing and our last foward is top heavy in the points scoring charts.

Oh players are big but there not really players that take alot of pims, your still allowed to check hard and thats looks like what most of our players will be doing, there only going to cutting down on the amount of picks and hooking etc a big mid ice hit will still be legal just as long as the other player touches the puck
what ever happens our team is going to be worth watching and thats why i'm looking forward to this season

Could be our final forward is small and very fast.

Small and fast would make sense as he'd have the protection he needed and would be perfect to catch the opposition on the break, especially after a turnover from a good hit.
