...for the next 3 years.
The Council helped with £50,000 worth of funding to support the bid and ensure we beat off Sheffield apparently.
Evening Post website has the story up.

Thats going to please alot of hockey fans and not just the Nottingham ones. So much for "delillama" knowing everything and wanting a wager on it being at Sheffield

Thought they were moving elsewhere like alot of other people. But I wondered why I read somewhere recently that Finals were ar Nottingham. Now I know why...it is. Saves on cash if nothing else.

Good.
I would have preferred to have at least one year as an 'away' trip - I know it's unlikely, but I still want the MEN to host it again at some point (or even the O2) - but if it was a simple choice between the NIC and the Hallam FM, then the right choice has been made IMHO. A full weekend with the lack of legroom at the Hallam FM, and I'd have been crippled!

Personally, I don't think this will happen guys! The Play-Off weekend always brings a lot of people / money / media exposure to Nottingham, and I can't see the City Council wanting all of that to drift away without a fight! I fully expect them to approve some sort of subsidy, to ensure that the hire cost of the Arena remains attractive to the Elite League, even given the obvious attractions of Attercliffe! ;D. and ... Attercliffe is acracking night out, I really don't know where this rubbish about it being unsafe comes from. We have been drinking down there for years and see far less trouble than in town. The people going to attercliffe tend to be older people out for a night avoiding all the 'Coventry fans' that go to town; as a result you get a much more relaxed friendly attitude. OK Nem, I'll take your word on that! Still don't think it will happen though! My prediction - a new 3 year contract with the NIC to be announced before Christmas! I rest my case m'lud!! ;D I think the 'delillama' has spent too much time contemplating his navel for his own good! Hope he didn't lose too much cash at Ladbrokes ;D ;D

Thought the NEP were on the ball this morning......(updates for the current day not usually posted until 10am)
Looks like they got a bit ahead of themselves as the link to the story has been removed (for the time being).

Happy with this. If we could only combine the Hallam FM catering with our arena and Hull's beer pricing, I think we'd be on to a total winner here

Did you go to Basingstoke on Saturday? It said in their program on the Fixtures page that the finals were in Nottingham. We were not sure if it was a mis-print or hind sight? Really glad it is at the NIC, made my day.

So gad that the finals are with us again for the next three years. Can rest easy that I wont have to even think about them being up the road for a while. Well done NIC/Nottingham City Council and the EHIL. Happy bunnies in our house now.

well pleased finals are at NIC. well done NIC, the council and the league. i am quite surprised that the league hasn't managed to put this news on their website, considering it is one of the biggest bits of news.

I've said before that I miss having a weekend away but it's always nice to beat Sheffield Good on the Council for helping to keep the event in this city. Let's hope the money and Experience Nottingham can make it a memorable event again.

Happy days! If you want an 'away day' book a hotel in town still and just go to different places. It sounds ridiculous but I did it a couple of years ago and last season and its great! Just book a hotel and try and get yourself lost with a few mates.
