People banging on it won't be cost effective.. well what about the £1m+ revenue they make off the playoff weekend.. where does all that end up because it sure as hell doesn't go on the product of improving the league !! I'd love to know how much the EIHL have pocketed off that weekend since 2003/4 So would we all, but none of it matters as it all gets shared between the clubs, doesn’t it? And you know that revenue doesn’t necessarily equal profit?

And the EIHL explain (well, do they?) why it’s too late to improve on the poor format of the Challenge Cup. So, as you were, as you are……

Ok so they’ve already sorted the same old boring groups but they could take just the top one of each group plus best runner up straight to the semi finals.

Of course any well run, forward thinking league would have done the survey a lot earlier so that any changes could be implemented this year. This however is the dumbass EIHL ! 🙄

One assumes next season, when what they change ut to isn’t exactly what you want them to, it’ll be the dumbass EIHL not listening? They’ve done the survey, got the results, got the message, loud and clear. Let them do something with it. Then we can all comment on that. But I fear it won’t be positive ever, from you, will it?

Don't worry I've attended enough games over the years to know what I'm taking about 😉

Just imagine how bad it would be if some of these people actually attended games 😂 Coming from somebody who’s 83 posts over five years are virtually always negative and rarely contribute much of any interest to the party, over an average tally of only around 16 posts a season that’s rich.(yes I’ve just had a look through your posts). And you criticise me ! 🤣 Pmsl

Just imagine how bad it would be if some of these people actually attended games 😂 It would actually show things had improved to have people return to games ‘live’. I understand fixtures have been set. But the number of games played for the group round are similar if not the same for each (uneven 3,3,4 format or two groups of five) - some implications, maybe, on travel but Belfast are definite quarter finalists again.

Prior to that I don’t think I missed more than five home games in 20 odd years of watching.

The noddy cup should be dropped.
Its been pointless from the day it started, the only thing that matters is the league followed by the play-offs.

For the Playoffs, there's nothing to stop EIHL going to two groups of four. Play each other once at home and once away, top two qualify for Playoff Weekend. Would add a bit more value to The Playoffs, it was once the format and I don't know why we ever came away from it.

The last time that the play-offs were decided by a group system was the 2005/06 season.
Group A had Belfast (1st); Coventry (4th); Cardiff (5th) & Edinburgh (8th)
Group B had Newcastle (2nd); Panthers (3rd); Sheffield (6th) & Basingstoke (7th)
