"On the subject of the number of non-homegrown players in the Elite League, 36.2% of fans said it was about right, while 31.3% answered that it didn't matter. A further 17.8% said the number was too low, while 14.7% answered that it was too high."
Some quite interesting reading in the report but as expected and using the above as an example, there's a whole spectrum of opinions and no out and out consensus on anything (except the Challenge Cup format being a mess).

Can’t believe what I just read, utter nonsense. 🙄 Still at least we know 70% of EIHL fans have a pet and it gave a PwC office junior something to do in their dinner hour !

Sure Iggy, pull out the one random "fun fact" they added into the release rather than stuff like: "the biggest complaint from fans was the current format of the Challenge Cup. This out-ranked both wanting teams to show greater professionalism and the level of officiating in the league, which were the next two highest points of negative feedback." The very stuff you'd want them to have found out and do something about

So what have they done about it as regards change ?

Will be the acid test now if they actually value the fans/customers and give what they want... I wouldn't hold your breathe though

As opposed to trawling through (say) pages of mostly drivel on twitter, or listening to a few voices on forums. 6000 fans at Panthers games, 25 regular posters on here? Just because you are vehemently opposed doesn't mean you can necessarily extrapolate that "the fans" aren't happy. But as it happens, it seems they aren't, although we aren't told exactly why, crucially. It could be that "they" don't like the final being held where it is? Or the fact that the group games are midweek? Those could both be under "format"? As for professionalism, maybe this is the kick/feedback the league needs? You can't knock them for asking. The fans have spoken, it's what happens next that is crucial. As you say though, what's the CC format going to be this year? My vote? The same this season (too late to change), but a change next season.

The only real change I can see to the CC format is 2 groups of 5. Still giving 8 games. For the powers that be it'll mean 1 less Panthers v Steelers game each, but I mentioned it last year. I think over the 4 home games you'd still see the same average crowds if not slightly increased. An extra game against Guildford and Cov would probably be more apealing than Manchester & Sheffield as many as we currently have.
Then they could change the final back to 2 legs. A few different options but it wont really solve the problems. It'll still be to many games as they want the gate money.

I particularly love the line about “some information is being kept back as it is commercially sensitive”. 🤣🙄

Panthers take more notice of a few fans on a little forum 😅😉

The one line that interested me most was the last line: "much of the data will also be of great use to our new Commercial Manager when he takes up his position in August 2023." So, after about 8 years, are we finally over the line filling that job? That's the first update on that post since Neil Russell's update during the Storm's first season.

What would you do, though? What would be top of your "to do" list? Challenge Cup format aside?

Such an obvious money grab over the years but last season just killed it for us so no more revenue from us at all

Considering the reality that they will keep us with Sheffield id like to see the best possible split, which I believe to be England & Celtic. So what format would bring you back? I would need to get some enthusiasm back to even think about it. Apart from an out-and-out off the season ticket money grab what other reasons for a CC is there anyway? We probably didn't bother going to about 30% of the games on the season ticket last year so to pay to go to "other games" would be madness for us. If the Panthers hadn't made it quite so obvious that the fans were going to be lied to and gouged yet again it might have been different. A new chapter. Personally, now I couldn't care if the NIC's ice melted. We are not local to Nottingham and at the moment we are just more excited by other teams and other sports.

Or at the least a streaming service to stream EVERY game of the season for a monthly subscription. Get a league sponsorship a multi year one for a change . Introduce proper playoff formats (lack of ice time is and always will be a poor excuse no matter how many try and defend it) Provide more dog bowls for the customers and their fury friends on game nights.. I mean fans ..😅🤣

Nothing enormously interesting in the breakdown tbh, but at least they've released some info and we know they've got the message about the Cup, so let's give them a chance to do something about it before assuming they won't. Still at least we know 70% of EIHL fans have a pet Paws branded collars, leads, bowls, beds coming soon 😉

Also, what is the minimum broadcast standards you would expect for the price? (No. of camera's, commentators, replays, graphics etc)

Never worked out why they didn’t do a season ticket option for all the games not just league games for those who want it

We often buy live streams for two games on a night and and end up watching the better game. We watch far more lives streams (not just Panthers games) than we ever go to live games and we have season tickets. Panthers, Giants, Sheffield and Cardiff all have good streams and the Panthers streams are a country mile better than they used to be.
