Didn't know it was the first time he'd missed playing a game since 15/16 season. Knew it was unusual but I'll have to check that for my own interest. He played 21 gams over 11/12 through to 14/15. 15/16 61 - no injury 16/17 73 games 17/18 77 18/19 71 19/20 64 20/21 16 That's a hell of a lot of games injury free. Will check this when I've been out in the snow recording my gas/electric meter. EDIT: YUP, it is correct, first time-out from a game and probably throughout his time, including challenge games if not scratched (unavailable) or such.
This has happened eleven games short of his 450th.

I don't get why they've IR'd him again? Presumably we're not planning to bring in a replacement?

It’ll be something to do with saving money somewhere you can bet on that !

Could be, or it could just be like @pidge said on the other thread, that Panthers are using "injured reserve" as a bit of jargon to mean "out for a while", and he's not actually in that replacement process.

As ever, the EIHL rules are a bit unclear (drafted by someone who's definitely not done much legal work) but I'd read it as being that if he is formally declared as IR, then there is the option of a replacement signing. Maybe it is just words. Maybe not. Either way, stick a fork in him, he's done, by the looks of it.

Putting Ollie on the injured reserved allows the club to add another brit (Clarke -Pizzo or Jack Hopkins) to the match day squad should they so choose.
There is talk that Ollie's injury is serious, akin to that suffered by Paul Gascoigne in the early 90's. Hopefully that isn't the case, but if it turns out to be true then Ollie may well miss part of next season & most certainly the upcoming world Championships in May

We could play those two without IR, if we had space on the bench, they're already registered with us.

Could be that being on injury reserve free's up Ollie's wages from the wage cap and allows the club to the pay one of the registered Brits (or maybe both of them) a wage until the end of the season.

Perhaps we are allowed to bring in a Brit, trained here so eligible, currently playing in the NIHL, Hewitt or Chamberlain for example. Not that I'm advocating jt though.

It’s dreadful news for Ollie, he started the season flying and is a big part of the club. Hopefully he recovers from whatever the issue is for next season.

Where is Perlini? Norway? Yes but I think his season’s finished now, they’re out of the playoffs. There are 10 teams in the Norwegian league, I think the bottom 2 have a relegation play off with the top 2 from "Division 2", and the top 8 go into the playoffs. So his season isn't done for a week or two at least. Just looked on EP, his team's rink has a capacity of 600, apparently.

Translating the Norweign Wikipedia it looks like the Schjongshallen rink capacity is 1700 for seating and standing, seems like a decent little rink.
Amusingly, since 2001 they have been known as the as the Ringerike Panthers...
