In Part NINE I've added D) Silverware for those wondering when we won competitions (all in my latest book of course) and you can see the periods between us winning and us having baron times. It has been 5 seasons since our last title in 2016, bar the Elite 'series' Trophy/Cup.
The longest period of 'drought' was 1980 (reformation) to 1986. Then 1998 till 2003 with a 5 year break.

We've spoken of 'old boys' (players in their 2nd and more season with panthers) achieving landmarks of 50/100/150 etc in GP, Gls, Ass, Pts and Pims. Well SIX players new to us are well on their way to 50 games for the club. But Baillargeon and Welsh have surpassed 30 points on the way to a possible 50 plus Baillargeon, Norrish and Richards have also served a few penalty minutes also up and above the 30 mark too.

New set rules for the Challenge Cup semi-Finals and I'd assume also the final though this has not been mentioned. Not sure why this comes so late and not when they agreed a one off game instead of the usual aggregate score. I'm fine with it though, should be inline with the Play Offs. www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/2155-cup-semi-finalists-agree-overtime-changeWhy was I expecting the Giants TV coverage to be cheaper? Well away teams are not able to see their team at home and the price of the matches was reduced to help people but not all will be able to or want to travel.

Impossible to tell exactly with the publicly available stats, but Norrish breaks his duck with something like his 84th shot on goal this league season.

For those noticing a change in the player stats. Well done. Elite have changed six older dated GRS sheets (without mentioning it) which involved seven players. Although after minus and plus figures on the assists only six had changes to their overall stats. Welsh benefiting as Norrish, Brassard, Lane, Tetlow and Tousignant having deductions. Not sure why and also at this late stage but this is the reason the League and All Domestic game figures have been altered.
We move on.

Out of interest Spik, what are the stats TOI for the top 5 netties. As Carr's stats and the players he has just passed on the list show that a nettie only has to play two seasons with Panthers to get into the top ten. With the exception of some of the older netties when there were less games in a season and more competition for the number 1 spot.

Panthers are 1 for 27 on the PP in their last 10 league games, and only 33 for 43 on the PK. Despite that, Panthers have taken points in 7 of those 10 games, and 12 overall, better than their season average.

Your correct, two seasons with a good amount of games gets you high up there. But your top five has 7, 5, 4, 6 and 3 seasons respectively. So a bit of a mix. You’ll have the many seasons player but as reserve netty like Cox, Green, Levers, Steeples, Woolhouse not getting you near the top. Halverson 4 and Robins 3 seasons still make it into the top five. Those five Sieman 7 (53-54 to 59-60) Kowalski 5 (10-11 to 14-15) Halverson 4 (46-47 to 49-50) Graham 6 ( 87-88 to 93-94) 1 season out Robins 3 (96-97 to 98-99)

Cheers Spik. The other thing to remember is that some of the TOI for the netties back in 80's / early 90's was reduced because quite a few games were won by the end of the second period (either because Panthers were winning easily or because they were being thrashed). Meaning the backup often played half or all of the third period. Graham's TOI certainly was reduced as Danny Thompson often went in the third when he was backup.

Panthers game report tells us that CARR was selected for this game. He's actually been selected to start every league games this season. Kerlin's taken part in one.

Panthers have banked 9 of 10 points available in the last 5 games, making them the form team in the EIHL. Blaze have 1 point from their last 5 games.

On the day ELITE on the OS 'get it wrong' (see Howlers thread) Panthers got it all right. 0-2 down so early on and coming back away against the league leaders was brilliant with men short as well.
Hedburg gets his first goal.
Betteridge misses first game leaving Boivin, Brassard, Kelsall, Norrish, Tetlow and Tousignnat the only players to have played all games this season in competition.

Here's one. Panthers have the lowest amount of PPGs of any team this season, the lowest number of PP chances, and are the only team yet to score a 5 on 3 PPG. Attachments:
