THE ELITE SERIES APRIL 2021 (scroll down for fixtures, player stats, table and challenge game stats)
From what was a cancelled 2020-21 season of our usual CUP, LEAGUE and PLAY-OFFS we have now adapted through government support an Elite Series competition which incorporates all the English sides from application of a grant/loan minus Guildford who declined when application was being made. The Welsh, Irish and Scottish teams missing due to the way support agencies work, it would be up to those hockey organisations within said countries to make their own competitive way, separate from this tournament.
This is a pre - World Championship tournament in aid of ice time for the proposed GB player contingent. To help Officials chose the representative squad for Britain in the Championships to be held in RIGA , LATVIA.
As the recent issue of 'Fresh Cut' - Ice Hockey's only magazine suggests in its theme title this quarterly print...'It is what it is'.
So to make for easy read here is our usual seasonal Fixtures/statistics thread...…this is just a makeshift seasons thread before the 2021-22 season starts up later this year.
* Note... Changes to the original squad numbers rule...in that the original 'taxi' players WILL also be included into the whole squad.
Find below first, the SEVEN GB player draft squad members chosen with trade agreements dealt with, along with the FIVE protected players of those who were under contract or such by this time. Plus the original reserve set of THREE members who could only train with and be ready if a player needs to be replaced. But are now part of the 23 man squad.
We await the teams signing players classed as 'Imports'. thereby establishing a full squad of 8 imports and 15 British players..... you know how things change with Elite.
