I would've thought compo tickets to watch Cardiff City would be viewed as a disincentive?

Why would freebies be included in the budget? They are genuinely free. A simple call to the contact at the WRU, CCFC or Principality. The free restaurants are often managed or owned by Devils fans. The advertising/promotion they get from having local sportsmen in generates more business. The local cinema has a manager that plays mens league hockey. He gets the guys freebies aslong as they tweet about it. They have other outgoings other than the Devils. Energy costs of the rink. Staffing costs of the rink. General upkeep of the building. The extra money, whilst not on salary goes to other extras not mentioned. Every morning the locker room is stocked with fresh coffee, fruit, pastries, juice. The fridge is stocked with powerades/gels/soft drinks/waters. There are protein shakes They have pre and post game catering. It is not simply a service station sandwich and a Post game dominoes. The guys can get whatever equipment they want. (It helps that Joey Martin is a Bauer rep). The owners also have pro-stock contacts through Calgary Flames. As Panthers fans we’ve not had to worry about our clubs future, where as the fans in Cardiff have so arguably you deserve your success. But the fact that Nottingham have been in a great position for the past 10-15 years and have failed to win the biggest title apart from once has gone beyond frustrating. You’ve got it good in Cardiff, that’s obvious to everyone. Your owners have invested and you’ve obviously got a good business strategy which is now allowing you to be successful. So without sounding funny, it’s hard to believe you’ve not got the biggest overall budget.

I've very little doubt at all he is. You need to understand though that your posting history for any guaranteed percentage is completely flawed based on some hilarious fails. Sorry buddy, I just didn’t think I was on trial for things I may have said in the past would be held against me now. But hey ho. So let's get this right you're here posting that one of your players is definitely staying with your team & you have a higher than 100% guarantee (impossible by the way). & in the past you did exactly the same thing with a certain player & you had to backtrack huge when proved wrong. Yet now you wonder why no one seems to want to believe a word you say.... hmm...

OK, can we get this back onto track now, please? As in... a discussion of signings in EIHL clubs (Nottingham and otherwise) rather than an extended marketing campaign for the Cardiff Devils, and the inevitable takedowns of such (as amusing as it is for a while... ). 'Insider' - we get it, you're proud of your club. Good for you. Many of us (myself included) are happy that you are no longer fighting merely for survival. Just please confine your over-exuberant partisan stuff to your own forum, please?

To be honest I don’t care whether you believe me or not, no where have I said that, so please don’t put words in my mouth. At the end of the day I want the Panthers to be strong, that is beneficial to me as a punter, and surely beneficial to the league. Your own personal agenda is yours and no one else’s is. Have a great season.

May 7, 2015 at 10:17PM - "Matt won't be back, that's guaranteed". May 8, 2015 at 6:29pm - "He'y I got that one wrong big time, good signing for the Panthers". We'll wait for the official release from your club thanks. Inevitable though it is.

Devils/Steelers/Panthers/Giants all pay nearly enough the same on player salary. TK knows from his time at Belfast what their budget was/ice time costs etc. He knew salaries of that org. Devils, nor any other elite league team, would pay over the odds for a player. For every Mosey, Riley, Salters, Doucet out there (or any other Elite to Elite transfer), a team can find a new player from the ECHL/AHL/DEL that could possibly offer more at a cheaper rate for various reasons. I am talking Hotham/Fournier/Haddad/Martin. Granted their salary goes up but not like you think. Hotham had no offers from elsewhere. Same goes for Martin and Fournier. Despite what people think, teams from other leagues were not scrambling to sign these guys.

And before you get on your high horse about being doubted... why should you be believed? Just because you call yourself "insider"? I could call myself "Panthers Insider" - and it wouldn't make anything I claimed any more accurate. Proof, or it's just hot air. Proof? I've been told by people actually working for clubs (not Nottingham) something very different... and not just about Cardiff, neither. Why should you be believed over them? Knew. Past tense. That was then, this is now... And... if he's told you this... why should he be believed? Why is he less likely to lie than any other GM or whatever? NURSE!! Quick - the needle and thread! My sides, my poor sides... That has to be one of the most ridiculous claims that has been made on this forum in a very long time. Historically speaking, the incidence of clubs - regardless of budget level - paying over the odds for players is widely believed to have been immense! (I say "widely believed" because there is very little actual evidence available... but the anecdotal evidence from players, club officials etc has been consistent). First sensible thing you've said... Potentially believable... potentially bovine excrement. How are we to know which?

To cover our collective backside, a bunch of posts regarding some confidential information about the Cardiff Devils have been removed, as has 'insider' - his own stupid fault, he tried to use the GDPR data regulations as a smokescreen to avoid the necessity of providing proof of his various claims, and then managed to release some information which (if true) would have been a 'personal data breach' under GDPR regulations. For those with a good background in military history and/or etymology, the appropriate phrase is "hoist by his own petard". Right - back to discussions about signings!

Watch the rumours thread I guess. the rumours thread is incredibly dry which I suppose is a positive thing as none of our signings have been leaked beforehand

Belfast were reportedly after his signature according to the daily star. We need some big signings if we are going to compete.
