I think you should stay there as well...
Logically it makes some sense, but realistically I can't see it.
I believe Panthers are looking at a 'Munson type' as back up.
Unless Tetlow, Kelsall and Hazeldine are playing regularly for us next season, that’s not possible. Or are you implying something else? It’s very strange that we’ve not got a back-up announced yet. It’s going to be interesting to see how this all unravels.

Quite frankly, I would not be happy with us signing Jackson Whistle. He just has not (except in brief flashes) impressed me... not for Belfast, not for Sheffield, not for GB. Maybe he can do better.. maybe he even will. I just think that's one gamble too far.
Hopefully this rumour is groundless (like most).

I'm not his biggest fan at all, I was underwhelmed when we signed him and wouldn't be bothered if he left

Sort something out with Gospel. Or look for another 'Brit' option.. hence Whistle making some sense in theory, but not in practice.
Then, there's always Farmer... maybe.

He is a LOT more expensive than a new Munson but saves wasting an import outskater plus there must be a plan with Gospel being given the Alan Sugar pointy finger. His brother is a problem though, he is/was terrible and I believe they came as a pair to Sheffield? If they are splashing the cash it makes sense. Playing an import backup is not going to get us anywhere plus Gospel was never going to be given a lot of ice time.

If Farmer doesn't sign & that's looking doubtful isn't it then it has to be a Brit option at back up.... Or we're icing some interesting Brit skaters to say the least. I think Farmer has proper surprised the org. & a re-think over Gospel is inevitable.

Just read the Star article in question (that Star website is like tech equivalent of putting your hand in a bucket of used needles in regards to ads btw...) and although throughout Simms is talking about getting an import to pair up with Whistle, this bit didn't sound so certain:
"I certainly hope that Jackson is back with us and he's fighting for that number one position because he is a very, very good goaltender. He did nothing wrong in his time."

Stir article suggesting that he's wanted back in Sheffield. If the article is correct, that would invalidate a rumour connected with the Panthers. Seems fairly simple to me...

Simms confirms Whistle will play for us with a new Import. So if Whistle stays in Sheffield where does the brother go ? Fox said he isn’t keeping deadwood if there is better out there.

Simms confirms Whistle will play for us with a new Import. In a further development. It appears Whistle has been given a deadline ultimatum to either accept a pay cut and shared duties, or move on.

No idea tbh. Two imports is a possibility maybe with an older British backup as our U23 quota is met.

Who would want him though? Can’t see Fife taking him as they always go after good net minders...I’d say he maybe forced to accept or look towards North America..

If we do sign him as a back-up then that’s an upgrade on Gospel imo. If we sign him with the intentions of letting him share the starting role then that’s a bad move.

If he rejects Sheffield I doubt he'd sign here specifically as a backup. If we get him he'll expect to be at least on par with Carr, IMO.
Seems they're still trying to sort out the mess Thomo made up there.
