It would be interesting to see the reaction if this was the other way around.
No doubt a clamouring for Jansen to step up

You talk about others needing to know the rules... but there’s no mention in the rule book about ‘keeping the head up’. It clearly helps you keep your head on your shoulders but it doesn’t give a defenseman Carte Blanche to destroy you and isn’t a defence for a bad hit. Furthermore, Scott Stevens would never play nowadays. He’d be constantly suspended if he acted the same way because he was basically a predator who constantly targeted the head and must have caused dozens of life affecting concussions. The rules and the game have changed. If he had his head up we wouldn't be having this conversation You seem to know the rules. So can you explain the penalties that were given to the two players.

Impossible to equate what goes through Darnells head I gave up years ago.im still working out how Rissling got a instigator Unless you are referring to the hit.. Well risslings skates are planted firmly on the ice. He doesn't raise his arms at contact and Mosey is pretty dumb putting himself in a vulnerable position however I hope he's back playing soon

Pidge... Stef has already said that he made a mistake and that he wrongly announced an instigator penalty.

Even Stef drops a ricket now and then. Rissling got 2 for roughing, a 10 minute USC, and 5+G fighting. The USC was for, we assume, punching Ulmer when he was down. The added game was, again we assume, for fighting when play was long stopped. (edited for possible over-reaction...)

Meanwhile, and apologies if I missed it, but was/is Kovacs injured? As only one import netminder played, I assume he was? No sense at all in scratching an import if you don't have to?

No doubt a clamouring for Jansen to step up Well as you on a Panthers forum no doubt there would be a selection who would have deemed it a dirty hit & want some kind of retribution. As regarding for Janssen stepping up... I hope you aren't comparing Rissling's arguably clean open ice hit to Marsh's blindside cheap shot...??

It was tweeted that he was out injured I believe. Not sure why Munson didn't dress though. I thought it at the time the players were announced and was going to memtion it, but then forgot once everything else happened.

No doubt a clamouring for Jansen to step up Yes if it was the other way round, you Devils fans would be saying it was a clean hit ! It’s as close to a borderline head hit/clean hit as you’re ever going to get,in my opinion it’s a clean hit though. You could give that video to 100 people and i reckon the outcome would be 50/50.

Munson was just a scratch, slightly odd given we had space but appears to be Rick preferring Gospel. Edit - unless you meant Munson got a knock in Guildford? Did he play that one?

He was right to make the hit, and Mosey was fair game as he had the puck, but Rissling has the responsibility to avoid contact with Mosey's head. Height differences etc don't really matter, as I understand the rules. Whether he does that or not I dunno, the close up looks worse than the original, but we might be finding out if DOPS still exist I think. Strange that Ulmer had to stand up for it mind. Your last point is what has infuriated me more than the hit itself. I liked Bordeleau, but I understood, to an extent, why we didn’t bring him back. But a 39 year old skill player shouldn’t be sorting these issues out. And it certainly didn’t help him in the scrap, which he lost resoundingly. Proud of him for going in for it, but a little ashamed of the other guys who didn’t even get involved despite being on the ice. That last point stood out to me also, along with wondering why no Devils player/s actually helped Mosey up and off the ice....only when the Panthers players did said thing did any show the slightest bit of interest.....strange. Must take a while to be accepted into the inner circle

Also enjoyed Buldick still agitating on top form even during the handshakes at the end too.

I don’t think it’s as much a case of him keeping his head up but more a case of not looking back. He put himself in a vulnerable position, but that doesn’t really change a thing. The hit shouldn’t be made. The hit shouldn't be made? He was 3 foot away from Garnett in centre !! It was a potentially a goal scoring situation You can’t attack the head. He attacked the head. I can’t believe I’m having to explain this. You’d be spitting venom if it was the other way around.

I think you are trying to put Pidge down.
