For the 2nd weekend in a row. Simply not good enough, the Giants didn’t even get back from Scotland until 90 minutes before face off and they’re short benched. Don’t fancy our chances next weekend.

Well, this is mildly depressing. Still playing for 2nd I'm afraid.

Todd Kelman let the worst kept secret out in the pre game fan talk when we were down there a few weeks back. Keep the core of your team and build on it not have a mass clear out every year. I think the core of the present Panthers team would be very good with a year in the EIHL behind them.

In Cherno's first year I think it is overly ambitious/slightly unrealistic to think we'd be winning the league. The team's that have consistently done well have had consistency. New coach and lots of new players means lots of change. We do need to change the poor decisions that are being made on the ice, including taking fewer penalties, but I am not going to despair at this stage. Tonight Belfast have clearly been much better. On Wednesday they looked like a good team. That momentum continues. I don't think the long travel from Glasgow is an issue at this stage of the season. We have been dominated, but by a very good team who have now won 6 in a row.

It’s common sense really, identify your weakest areas but if it’s not broke, don’t try and fix it. There are players I’d love back next year on this roster, which makes a big change from the last few years. But they need to be supplemented with real quality too.

Yes not trying to put a downer on Cherno and the team at all but the key is keeping the main core of the team to build on for next year.

Hammered by a team of 18 players against Panthers 22 with the Giants arriving late and missing their star player. Simply not good enough......for the second Sunday running !
Get typing that big new signing news Gary !!!!

If it’s just Cardiff doing it year on year they will pretty much own the league down there.

Do you really think that by signing one player will make this team that much better? Depends who he signs. If it was a Joey Martin,Mike Heddon or Pat Dwyer equivalent then yes of course it would make us better. But i still think we are lacking that real quality playmaking Dman too,i said that three months ago.

Very disappointing.
All this talk of a new signing... I can't see how signing just one or even two players (short of the likes of Sidney Crosby or Connor McDavid) is going to prevent scorelines like this. This inconsistency has to be some kind of fundamental issue at the team level. Is it the conditioning? (we seem to do poorly in the second of back-to-back games)... is it the coaching? Something else? There has to be a reason that this team is only sometimes coming close to its potential, and until that reason is positively identified (not assumed or guessed at) then no real answer can be offered.
Good job this is a loooooong season!

You do realise we resigned ELEVEN players from last season ? That’s 50% of our roster.

Now this I agree with you on. I don't think the D core is good enough. Lepine looks the same pedestrian D man he did from the past, just without the enforcer/protector role which he revelled in & we could have upgraded on Billingsley imo.

2-1 or 6-1 It's still a loss ...We move on . We are inconsistent we know that. Hense the reason why devils will take the title.
I like this team more than I have the past 3 years. We entertain and when on form are frighteningly good. It's a concentration issue with us.
Let's see how this new player is ...
