I notice that, once again, the only steel in the Steelers is Martinelli stealing a wage.
And to think, people question Doty's worth.

I thought it was quite a scrappy game, Sheffield played with more energy than our last encounter, as predicted, but they just don’t have the quality throughout the team. At times we had them pinned in the zone cycling the puck and grinding them down, any pressure which they had didn’t come to anything the majority of time, they seem like a team without a game plan. Our powerplay was superb tonight though and it was good to see the scoring spread amongst different players, a good foundation to build on for a tough test tomorrow. I hope Stevie is ok, anybody see what happened? Stevie got a Steelers stick blade hard right in the face. A totally blatant high stick and all four stripeys missed it.

As for stevie a blatant high stick to the face that 4 officials managed to miss ...

Textbook game against a team with a shortbench, forecheck on point, good zone retention and good finishing. The dagger was the Guptill goal, snuffed out any hope they had of coming back. Steelers are in a massive hole, can’t see them emerging this season at the very least.

Can't afford to lose against the whipping boys, job done.
Like Ted I didn't think we were great, but they're awful. Homer has left them in a huge hole.

I thought the scoreline was quite cushy for Steelers. Could've been a much bigger win and they didn't entirely deserve to score two.
We seemed to control the game from start to finish with probably the last half of the game seeing us take our foot well and truly off the gas. Whistle was dreadful, couldn't catch a cold, and the defence wasn't much better either! It's a shame neither Johnson nor Eberle had the balls to drop the gloves though. Can't remember the last Steelers team I saw with such a lack of spine.
Hope Lee isn't too badly injured and I hope the guys get to Belfast safely and give it a good go.

Good win against a particularly flat and uninspired Steelers side. The biggest issue for Steelers in my eyes is the gamble-gone-wrong Whistle (not to mention the free wage his brother takes home). The amount he spills and fumbles is actually quite shocking... maybe Barrasso can improve him but he’s along way off Bowns!
Guptill continues to impress, seems like the player Shalla should have been last year... big, tough sniper.
Thought Garnett had a great game overall. Continues to fluctuate in form which is a concern, from sublime to sieve. Nice to see we got him on the sublime side tonight.
Also point out that Lacho and Biggs seem to have a bit of chemistry going. Great set up play by Lacho which is great to see again.

The thing for me is that these games are hyped to the hilt but they never live up to the expectations. A wins a win and I understand them taking the foot of the gas but they’re not thrilling games like years ago. I thought the Coventry match last week was better than this one. First time I’ve seen Steelers play this season and wow they are a shadow of even last years team. Let’s hope we have enough for tomorrow can’t keep playing .500 hockey every week.

There was a momentous event happened tonight so i paid my tenner and watched it. It was excellent, apart from the ten minutes of spin and drivel in the second break !

I think we did a good job of making them look way better than they are. We let them have the puck for far too long but they looked far from threatening. Probably the worst Steelers team I have seen. Good win without getting out of 2nd gear.
Says it all when you laugh at Biggs taking a silly penalty for jabbing somebody in the face instead of being emotional about it.

2 weeks ago at 4-1 they'd have sulked and we could've scored 10. Tonight at 4-1, they kept going and hacked & slashed their way through the rest of the game. So something's changed. What hasn't changed is they are bang average, and as for their NHLer at the back, showboating at 2-4 down in your own d-zone? Behave. Typical Oiler.

3-1 down in the third period, playing flat away from home, opposition offers you a fight and you turn it down? I'd be fuming at Johnson (or any of them really) if I was a Steelers fan. No bottle and no grit throughout the team, and it's an average team at that.

Am I correct in thinking Barrasso and his staff all vacated the away bench area before the handshakes ? If that's the tone he is setting, he could make Steelers even more hated than they already are, if that's possible.

Stuff were poor, very poor and their “fans” just as bad! Sitting in block 3 for the first time and so fun to see them fighting themselves, pure unadulterated embarrassment for them 😂 oh, and if he was a typical Oiler he would have scored 🤪

Sounds like Panthers won at a canter.
Olsen on the ice for all 5 Panthers' goals, as was Gula of Sheffield. No Steelers player is a + player according to the EIHL stats, and Brooks is pointless and -8 (joint league leader) in only 6 games...
