Moved to Esbjerg Energy in Denmark. Decent player but failed to live up to expectations

Looks like just 3 imports back then. Only two remain unknown and can’t see either Gagnon or Mok coming back now.

Massive lack of goals compared to what was no doubt expected from him.
Not a massive loss really.

Agree with Ted. He was decent but nothing standout. Good luck to him in Denmark though. Only two remain unknown and can’t see either Gagnon or Mok coming back now. Have we heard about Vaskivuo (sp?) yet?

Good luck to him but not overly bothered; maybe I expected too much...

Never saw the best of Derlago and I put a lot of that down to the coach. Expect him to find the twine in Denmark quite a bit.!

I said at the end of the season I would have liked to have seen most of that team under a different coach. Mark Derlargo was at the top of the list of players I thought we'd see a big difference from. Corey has done some great things for some players, but too many have had seasons like Derlargo under him. I agree, i'd back him to prove last season was just a blip.

If thats the case with Derlago, what about Josh Shalla, unless he was home sick. Shalla's stats after leaving Panthers was 50 points (28 goals) in 42 games in the ECHL, which is similarly to what he was putting up in the ECHL before Nottingham. In fact the only year he put up worse totals was in 2011 when he got 4 points in 26 games, but that was in the AHL which is a better league than ours. If you look through his stats his Nottingham number are a complete anomaly, if it was just him performing below expectations I'd say it was homesickness, but there were several players on last years team who performed poorly, especially domestically.

Odd timing of the announcement because he was released from his contract straight after playoffs so why not announce it then. Just waiting to see what’s said when Bussieres turns up, you can see it happening...lol

Yes you have to question how on earth Bussieres lasted the whole season without getting gassed ! That'll be Corey "Nice Guy" Neilson in effect. He was like an old spinster with cats at times, just wanted to keep them all.

Corey had probably too much essence of being 'one of the boys' still and chose enjoyment/fun over seriousness. With Derlago though, he's a good player for sure, just didn't seem to get going very well until Pither arrived. Very stale player for three quarters of the season. He should do very well in Denmark but you could argue the Danish league is probably of less quality overall.

Chernomaz's signings so far have impressed. If he had limited viewings of Panthers before becoming coach, which im sure he did, then seeing Bussieres miss that sitter vs Sheffield should have made up his mind. If Bussieres signs the Rich goes down a notch. And before anyone moans that everyone misses chances, then yes, they do. If Bussieres was a 70 point a season man then keep him, but hes not, so cheerio. I want a team that delivers the goods when the pressure is on

And yet he was on fire in the CHL (5+2, led the team in points) against miles better opposition than he'd ever play in the EIHL. Shalla/Farmer/Perlini was an awesome threesome. That line lasted the initial CHL games, IIRC, and 10 league games, a combined +14 and 11+14 in that time, before being inexplicably split up, then made a brief reappearance in the December of Doom, going a combined -12, no goals scored (except a 5 on 3 PPG), then was gone forever. The demise of Shalla is as baffling a case as I've ever seen in a Panthers shirt.

The fact that you still bang on about Neilson every chance comes across as boarderline obsessive.
