Mr Black stated in a Q&A that the league is the number 1 priority every season. You of all people Rob should know that anything said at the Q&A can be twisted to suit the cause. And people should also know that what Mr Black says and what he means or thinks are probably two different things. He’s hardly going to say “I really want to do well in Europe at the expense of the league which you lot have all shelled out £100’s on season tickets for” is he ! 😂

The Q&A is a tick the box exercise.
What goes on behind closed doors is far more pertinent information.

Unfortunately the fact that we had yet another ridiculously poor league campaign that season does lend some weight to the arguments of people who want to say that it wasn't a massive accomplishment to win the Continental Cup. So what about last season then? We had another poor league campaign but look at our CHL success. As others have already said, if winning the Conti Cup is so easy we wouldn't have been the first British team to do so. Anyone that says otherwise is only doing so because they have an agenda against the club.

If some peoples opinion is that the standard of the opposition was not up to much then that's up to them. It doesn't mean that they necessarily have an agenda against the club.

Both seasons would indicate that the only thing Panthers really care about.....is Europe !

Don’t qualify for Europe = less profile = less money. Anyone with anything about them has to realise that winning the domestic league is the only foundation to consistent European adventures/success? No matter how well we turned up for the CHL or CC, we’re not in it next year.

I'm not the negative one(s) around here. I'm the realist.

Yeah winning the league should be the target, then we get CHL next year. That’s where the big boys play, not in the Conti cup that’s for second rate teams these days. Look who used to win the Conti cup in the first ten or so years of it,they were all teams from Switzerland,Finland, Czech,Austria, Slovakia etc. Those teams don’t play in the Conti any more, they all play in the CHL.
That’s why the Conti is now much easier to win. Easier than our Challenge cup.

The reemergence of the Champions League did make the Continental Cup a competition we could realistically think of winning. Sadly you then dolloped on the usual hyperbolic guff to ruin it: Easier than our Challenge cup.

Never anything positive. You talk like you know better than everyone and reckon you're ITK. Yet you never back anything up when you get called out

If players tell you things, purportedly in “confidence” then why are you repeating what has been said?

Of course he wouldn’t. What a ridiculous argument. It’s not ridiculous Rob - Iginla moans 24/7 I praise them when they deserve praise. Unfortunately, what has there been to be happy about the last few seasons other than last years CHL games. Constantly finishing 4th or 5th in the league and treading water with a coach who was well past his sell by date was no reason to be over the moon. Other people walk round with black and gold tinted spectacles on and will hear no wrong about Panthers but I don’t single out those people out for criticism. If everybody just sat back like them and accepted all in the Panthers garden was rosy,we would all be looking forward to the old era continuing with another couple of years of mediocrity under Neilson and the old regime !
