I dare say this has been coverd earlier, but as it stands today, it is a straight 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5 as none of the potential problems, such as a Conference Champion finishing outside of 8th place, will apply. Which leaves us currently playing the Giants, but also chasing anything from 3rd to 7th.

We’ve just got to try and win as many games as we possibly can to finish as high as possible. For me having the second leg at home is a massive factor as to whether we qualify for POFW.

I'd be happy with the Saturday night, sorry to sound like Gary. Sunday's Easter Sunday isn't it? Not so bad with it being an evening face off I guess.
There's also the travel twice theory.

Yes the travel does come into it,especially with it probably being Belfast or Fife. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see us get the Steelers though. So who do we want then ?

Panthers have an easy ish run in so they will climb up. Steelers stay much as they are and Fife drop down. 4th v 5th Steelers/Panthers. 😖

Aren't Belfast meant to be playing their home leg on the Friday. If so and its The Giants were playing, then maybe its a good idea for us to play our leg on the Sunday so we are not travelling and playing twice in 2 days.
Ideally it would be Fife for us to play but we would have to hope that the officiating doesn't come into it in the away game

Have you learnt nothing over the years. THE most important thing to Panthers......is the size of the home crowd ! 😆

We may have learnt our lesson about 2nd legs, now that would be a nice change. Then again, whoever we face may go for the Saturday home game thus leaving us the Sunday at home.

TBH, The way the table/seedings can change quite significantly. I've been thinking that a team could lose their final game of the season and get a more favorable match up instead of winning and get a tougher draw.

Yep Always some funny results in the last couple of weekends. I can see Panthers v Steelers coming up in the quarter final. 😩🙄 This weekends game in Sheffield is now quite big after Steelers and Fife both lost tonight.

Other than Cardiff vs whoever of BRA/COV/DUN finish 8th, the rest of the match-ups could really go any way. If Fife can’t get Iles back on the ice then they are at risk of sliding down into seventh.

I say this and then Marr backstops Fife to two away wins. Unlikely they’ll end up seventh now but you never know, they have three tough games to finish.

So if the league ended after last nights results we would look like this.
Devils (1) v (8) clan Storm (2) v (7) panthers Fife (3) v (6) flames Giants (4) v (5) steelers

Can see Fife slipping down, reckon they'll lose to Sheffield tonight. Steelers then have a gimme on Saturday and a winnable game with Manchester to finish. Might go through the fixtures later and guess a final table, I have that much time on my hands but won't be surprised if we end up in the 4/5 game with them, with us 5th.

This is what I'll go with, we'd actually end up in the 3/6 with Belfast in this scenario. I've not bothered with OT wins and losses, which will obviously have an effect:
Tonight: Giants v Lightning = Home win, BG +2 Flyers v Steelers = Away win, SS +2 Devils v Storm = Home win, CD +2 Flames v Stars = Home win, GF +2
Friday: Clan v Panthers = Home win, BC +2
Saturday: Flames v Clan = Home win, GF +2 Steelers v Caps = Home massacre, SS +2 Lightning v Flyers = Away win, FF +2 Storm v Blaze = Home win, MS +2 Stars v Panthers = Away win, NP +2 Devils v Giants = Home win, CD +2
Sunday: Giants v Stars = Home win, BG +2 Blaze v Flames = Home win, CB +2 Storm v Steelers = Home win, MS +2 Devils v Lightning = Home win, CD +2 Caps v Panthers = Away thumping, NP +2
Final Standings ---------------------------- 01 Cardiff Devils 81 +6 = 87 02 Manchester Storm 73 +4 = 77 03 Belfast Giants 66 +4 = 70 04 Fife Flyers 68 +2 = 70 05 Sheffield Steelers 65 +4 = 69 06 Nottingham Panthers 65 +4 = 69 07 Guildford Glames 63 +4 = 67 08 Braehead Clan 54 +2 = 56 09 Coventry Blaze 53 +2 = 55 10 Dundee Stars 48 +0 = 48 11 MK Lightning 40 +0 = 40 12 Edinburgh Capitals 11 +0 = 11
